When the Big Man On Campus goes on holiday, everybody needs to up their swagger. Someone besides a 450 rookie (Hunter) and Chase need to step up.
Looked like he barely broke a sweat that race in either moto, especially the second one. As long as he doesn't totally screw himself with something silly, this is easily his for the taking. Without Jett there, his speed is far and away better than anyone else - and even with Jett there, his speed was evident.
Remember that thread that said the Sexton era was already over
And he didn't even say he did it for the doubters...

It looks like Huntah needs to start up the Huntah line again....
I mean has he done much though? Any championships? He did get a supercross right? Genuinely asking. Seems like itβs only if the top guys are out. Kinda like Reed. Always number 3 to Ricky or James. Chase seems like the modern Reed to Eli and Jett to me.
"Geniunely asking" my ass. You seriously don't know who won the 2023 SX title??
And what 450 title has Jett won when his main competition was healthy??
Sexton's speed was good today. In moto 1 he pushed Hunter past his comfort level. Hunter made lots of mistakes but still maintained good speed until he crashed. With Jett not there to be the "rabbit" and set the pace and provide the "tow", Hunter was on his own. Hunter's great starting ability and good speed will keep him in the hunt. The challenge will be for Sexton to also get good starts and start near Hunter, consistently. If that happens Chase has a very good shot at winning this thing. Hunters amazing starting ability is what will keep Hunter in it.
2 30 plus two motos in Michigan in July and barely breaking a sweat hmm! lol hope he keeps it on two wheels for the championshipπ€ͺ
One of them probably gains comfort and confidence having his brother there while the other gains comfort and confidence not having the other guyβs brother there
As a chase fan, I get a big kick out of people making the Reed comparison like it's a criticism of either guy. How many guys this century wouldn't trade careers with Reed? A handful?
Yesβ¦. And the 40 -> 1 was pretty telling about his speed too. If he stays on the bike itβs going to be tough to score more points than Chase does.
hes doing wht hes suppose to do , did yal expect anything different π€
Funny Hunter was back there a few spots without the brother safety blanket there to pull him around.
Did you watch the first moto
is it just me is Sexton isn't really an American fan favorite?
What 450 title has Chase won when his main competition was healthy? Eli crashed out of SX to hand it to Chase, just like Jett has this series. Remember, Chase has finished in front of Jett 3 times in 32 moto's, all of those while JH18 was riding injured. Be honest with yourself for a minute, and think about it. And I am not a Chase hater, just love seeing good racing, and whoever wins, props to them.
250SX title too with Forkner wadding, but that's almost a given.
Pit Row
Wow...my point went right over your head. The entire reason I mentioned Jett is because he's only won 450 titles when the top dogs are injured too but no one mentions that, only when it happens to Chase I guess.
Oh and Jett wasn't facing a healthy Sexton last year so idk what your point is. It was Sexton's fault for getting hurt just like it's Jett's fault for riding over his head at Hangtown. Both started the outdoor season healthy and Chase is gonna finish ahead of him so that's all there is to it
Iβve noticed this too, Iβve been a Sexton fan since I noticed his smooth style back on the 250, and Iβve been blown away by how many American fans seem to constantly line up to throw him under the bus.
I donβt understand it, but hey make him an honorary Aussie, weβll take him.
What 450 title has Jett won when his main competition was healthy? Webb crashed out of SX to hand it to Jett, just like Chase and Eli did outdoors last year.
See how stupid that sounds?
Sexton lucked into the SX title which undoubtedly would have been Tomac's title had he not had the freak injury.
Now with Jett out Sexton can roll around to win this outdoor title.
I dig Sexton and I'd like to see him straight up beat everyone to win a title.
With that said, to have any chance at winning a title you have to stay healthy which Sexton has done, so credit to him and he will be a deserving Champion if he wraps this thing up.
Finally, someone who gets it.
At what point do you acknowledge Sexton (as well as Tomac) was hurt all last summer when Jett went 24-0? That's the point going over your head. Get it yet?
They both started last years MX title chase, and this years SX Championship healthy, did they not? Just like they started this Outdoor series healthy, Chase will win it, I will agree.
Riding over your head, and tucking the front consistently ends with the same result.
If ever you want a season with all the top dogs in contention, dream on.
You know who else rode over their head with predictable results this summer......?
I expect him to win or fall. Heβs faster than everyone else out there.
Was that Jett's fault?
