2024 Kawasaki KX450 and KX450X

Looking through some pictures and noticed the airbox on Jason Anderson bike. Looks like the mechanic is holding the air filter. Doesn’t look like anything currently available. Almost looks like the stock cartridge filter, just much larger surface area. Or maybe it’s just the wash cover. Interesting to see how much of the air box is cut out also.

It looks more similar than I would have guessed.

We've posted pictures of the factory Kawasaki airbox in GP Bits a few times. It looks like it uses the old filter or something close to it.

Saw a factory filter in person the other week at Pala when tickle was doing some testing. My Twin Air kit is nowhere near the size of their filter.

Ride report with the X-Trigs off the 2023 450SR…

As anticipated, the front end feel is much more precise, and is very confidence inspiring at lean angle. I have so much more feel in the front end, and was able to cut down inside my usual lines with confidence. The chassis feels the same stability-wise, but the confidence in the front end is incredible. Lean in feels marginally quicker due to the improved feel. I could afford to be a bit lazy in my body positioning, and the bike stayed planted at whatever lean angle I wanted. I did notice maybe just a hair more harshness in chop, but I think that was just the dry summer SoCal track conditions today. I didn’t move any clickers around, but hell, I’m still riding stock suspension. I’ll play with some clickers next ride, but I think the harshness was a line selection error more than anything else.

I’m no pro test rider, but I’m STOKED with these clamps. Considering they’re plentiful on the used market from the previous generation, I think it’s an excellent budget mod.

Nice! Definitely looking at xtrig or ride engineering. Anyone know if mako 360 mount would work for either?

Ciao. Ieri mi è arrivato il kit twin air. Ho visto nel pacchetto non c’è nessuna vite. Ancora non lo ho montato. Mi devo procurare qualche vite prima di smontare tutto?

Has anybody who lives in SoCal purchased a KX450 since the $2,500.00 rebate? What is the best out the door price you guys are seeing? Temecula Motorsports listed some 2024 KX450's for $5,999.00. I contacted them and their OTD price was $8,800.00. talk about smoke and mirrors

Nothing like 150% of advertised price to seal the deal.Blink

Finally rode a 24 today at Glen Helen. Definitely not night and day better/different than the 19-23 gen but I'd say all the changes they made are in the right direction. Bike falls right into ruts and tracks really good on exit. The Bremo front brake is awesome! And obviously the smaller rear brake is much better. The new plastic feels much slimmer. I had no issues gripping the bike or anything like that. Rider triangle is pretty similar to the old bike. 24 feels a bit heavier on the stand but I didn't notice the weight on the track at all. I really think Kawasaki is doing it the best as far as chassis feel right now. Both bikes really motivate you to get out and ride when the track is rough. Overall, great bike. These rebates are off the hook. If you're thinking about picking one up i'd say send it.

Looking good, do you know what the offset is on these clamps? I see that you are digging them based off of your ride report and I am definitely looking for more comfort with the front end on my bike at this time.

I just got mine from Coyne last week in Banning at just shy of $8k OTD. I believe they have a few 2024s left.

Ordered the FCP motor mount kit. Curious to see how it feels with the X-trigs. After that, I’ll likely be doing some suspension work with REP. May go full B-kit, but I’m not sure yet.

It was posted earlier in the thread but I almost missed it. Using a spade bit is the way to go to get those screens pulled from the silencer! Zipped it out in nothing flat

Were you seeing any metal slivers in your oil filter or screen?  That would be my first thought from the break in process.

No. I change my oil every 2 rides & oil filter every time too. Idk I’m not going to overthink it, just replace em & keep on trucking. My 19-23 model bikes had the same seals go out here & there

My countershaft seal just started leaking at 22 hours. My 22 made it to 40 hours.

That's wild you walked out with a 450 for cheaper than my YZ125 Unsure. No clue how Kawasaki is making money discounting these bikes so heavily did they make too many?

lol 😂 that post made me laugh. Yeah I keep an eye on it because I’ve had them leak before. It’s not a huge deal if it’s just seeeping out but I do some long NGPC’s & even longer motos. Just don’t want to risk it blowing out. Actually a team green kid blew one out at the pala regional really bad & it cost him the moto, had oil everywhere!

It’s a mother trucker to get the collar out but I got er licked today. I do the collar, o ring & seal. They make a kit you can order from tusk or moose comes with it all.

I wonder what the service intervals are on the seals. Luckily I have an all balls kit for my 19-23 year model and it looks like the same.
