I noticed this weekend he just did the interview and walked off the podium. Didn’t seem to show any love to the crowd after moto 1, which I get they are still focused and hot as balls, but even after getting the overall after moto 2. Even right after he got off the back after moto 1 he swatted away the tv camera behind the podium. Wonder if he is dealing with something, or is Jett just becoming enamored with the grind that it takes to be at the top of the class. Kid has a great personality, would hate to see the workload and pressure take that way from our star rider.

The track was pretty brutal, he was probably gassed and thinking about how he was gonna have to do it a second time.
The dudes hurting and not 100%. Last thing I’d want to deal with is a camera after doing a full moto on that track.
To be fair, at this point of the season between all of SX rounds and half of MX in the books and after that track in those conditions, everyone is hurting and no one is riding at 100%. There are no excuses. This is motocross.
It's also the first time he's been straight up passed and dropped by Chase (outside Hangtown, but he probably didn't care then, just trying to finish). I bet that didn't sit well with him.

As the broadcast would say Laboring seems to be the word of the week. But in all honesty he does seem like his body is hurting him.
Sounds like he’s still VERY sore..
Having to compensate with using his legs more than usual.
Riding so conservative that he can’t be himself out there.
Fighting for moto wins that are usually, when he’s healthy, a lot easier to ride…& win.
So, he’s probably a bit pissed.
I get it. Can’t blame him in the slightest. He’s still kicking ass.
I miss the old happy go lucky Jett, kid won’t open his mouth anymore because of fucking haters turning everything he says into something it’s not.
+1 He got flamed all winter after saying that he had a goal and now people are suprised that he just act like the robot they wanted him to be.
I highly doubt Jett's demeanor has anything to do with "haters". He is obviously struggling with an injury that doesn't want to heal up and Southwick is a BITCH!
He looked pissed after moto 2. I’m sure he was in pain but it looked like anger more than anything else to me. I expect a fired up Jett at redbud.
Maybe he told the camera guy to go as he was about to spit sand and all sorts of shit up?
Headed back for some Vanilla Ice
I remember when he used to bark like a dog on the podium...woof..woof..woof..
The rumor is that he is dealing with small penis syndrome.
I was wondering if he isn't sick. When he was on the line before moto 2, he looked like he was going to puke.
No shit. Certain people around here bitch that the robot interviews suck...then a couple guys (Jett and Haiden) don't act like robots and the same people bitch and whine.
Can't please vitards. They just like to bitch about anything.
Go Jett and Haiden! Say what you feel!
Not 100%, but still won and is within 3 points of the red plate.
Uhh, did you see his crash? That's a pretty good excuse.

no one cares
Uh, ya I saw his crash. That crash was 100% his fault just like Chase tucking the front end frequently is his fault or having a concussion last season was his fault. Again, its motocross and there are no fucking excuses. Everybody lines up and when the gate drops the BS stops. I get that the fan bois can't handle that reality. No excuses. Didn't here Cooper Webb or Eli making excuses in SX.
Is there any solid info on what lingering injuries he’s dealing with? He looks like he’s riding through a sore shoulder, hip or back. Something hurting core strength and mobility. (If it’s widely known, don’t skewer me, it’s been a busy month and I’m a little out of the loop)
A guy who can still win OAs when obviously hurt is damn impressive..
No, but when he’s 100% again it will come out.. This part sucks about american moto that the riders and teams think that they need to keep everything a secret.
The GP riders and teams are more open about things like that so it’s easier as a fan to understand why some riders don’t perform as they usualy do.
It’s widely known it is his shoulder but they haven’t said the injury. Presumably an AC separation.
I found it surprising that they hadn't already got an MRI on his shoulder.
I said a while back and still stand by it
“ it’s going to be a long summer for anyone not named Jett Hunter or Chase”
If you have a separation you can actually allow it to heal on its own unless it is a real bad grade 2-3 which would require operating. One could assume they know the injury just not the full extent and were hoping to nurse it along through the break and it get better. But looking at moto 2 it might have been a reality check. We shall see
Whats scary is he is winning overalls and is injured.
He definitely seems very frustrated in the interviews. He’s not his regular happy go lucky self. He’s always had a really relaxed looking riding style but lately he looks like he’s laboring it a lot. Just riding as easy as possible.
He's certainly as not as upbeat and outgoing like he was in the 250 class. He was almost giving end-of-career Villopoto vibes on the podium after that second moto. I guess the stress of the 450 class and whatever this injury is he's dealing with does that. Can't blame him honestly.
