Here’s one….. bought a brand new pc t-6 full system. The header wouldn’t go into the engine hole. Tried it about 15 times. No matter what it wouldn’t work. Anyone have any issue with this? I called pc and they said they’ve never heard of anyone having this issue. Figured I’d ask. Thanks!

dunno? The new PC 6 exhaust pipe flange is rectangular shaped not round like previous model yrs

you also have to turn the pipe at an angle to get it to align properly before seating it to the head

took about 10 minutes to install

It was the correct exhaust and i tried everything possible it wouldn’t line up and was hitting the frame to prevent it from seating properly. Either it was bent from shipping or a mishap from factory. I have another one en route. 👍🏼

That’s why dry fitting anything mechanical is so important before bolting it completely down

can I ask who you purchased this from..?

Agreed everything stays loose and with springs aligning it shake it around a little to let everything self align then stating from the head start tightening towards the end.

Motosport. Yeah I matched the end of the header up w the stock and it was noticeably different shape and even thickness. Pretty crazy situation. I have a new one coming so hopefully it was a freak accident.

Ride report - PC T-6 Full System, Twin Air Powerflow Kit, cut Airbox, drilled side panel, 50/50 pump/race gas, CHA24 map on a lightly touched up ECU (buddy adjusted the AFR on a dyno). Stock gearing, 116 link chain.

Barks more off the bottom liked I’ve wanted it to from the beginning, but still hooks up. The connected feel from the throttle to the rear wheel is awesome. Linear pull all the way to overrev. Can ride a gear high or a gear low and rev it. Still doesn’t want to get away from you though, I have no apparent fears of whiskying the bike when tired. Could probably make it faster yet, but I think it’s near perfect as is. This setup is the perfect vet 450 motor. Going to look at buying some clamps in the next few months, have a few buddies who bought some and are loving them. This things is so great! One happy owner here.

What clamps are your buddies running that they like?

Put fmf slip on today and bad bog at full Throttle. I know some bikes have to reset so to speak by idling and then turn off, exc. Anyone know if that’s the case with our bikes? I removed it and put stock back on and no problems. Only thing done to bike is rubber grommet removed.

That’s odd! My fmf slip on doesn’t bog ! I also have a twin air flow kit as well.

One has the PC clamps, the other X-Trigs. Have yet to ride either. Bike seems to like a stiff clamp though.

Anyone else had luck with mapping or fuel controllers on the '24? Curious to hear some experiences there. I'm debating picking up a get ECU or just sticking with the CHA tune for now. This bike is so potent from the factory.

I got the FMF 4.1 slip on and Twin air kit. No bog. I also run the spark arrestor. Bikes been really good.

Does it have a whistle to it? Mine had a bad whistle as well. I’m wondering if it didn’t make a good seal with the header.

nice! I rode my 24 once with the stock clamps but i just put the x trigs on so i'll report back. I ran x trigs on my older gen bike also so i'm hopeful they will be solid. I'm pretty used to them.

I would do as NicNak suggested. Go to the source, FMF should be able to point you in the right direction on this issue.

Still mind boggling to me how bad Kawi dropped the ball with the airbox/airfilter on this bike.

Please do! I just ordered some. Haven’t ridden aftermarket clamps since my ‘08 Honda, looking forward to them

You can blame that and the exhaust baffle on the 2025 FIM sound regulations.  A reduction from 115 to 112db is a massive drop in sound energy.  It will be interesting to see how the other OEMs accomplish this.  That is why the thing becomes a rocket with the addition of a slip on and opening up the airbox.

Replacing the stock muffler with Dr D muffler on my 08 YZ450F made a huge difference too.

The ‘25 KTM’s, RM-Z’s and CRFs have been released.  I’ve not heard nothing about restricted mufflers yet.

Just picked up a 24 450x for 7k out the door. Hoping it was the right move for east coast off road.
What is everyone running for skidplate/guideplate protection?

Doesn’t seem like much is available. I’m running the oem one off the 2023 450f

I have a TM Designworks Extreme Protection Glide plate on mine.  I think high density plastic is the same thing they make rock-crawler skid plates out of.  It is bulletproof and slides across rocks and obstacles really smoothly.

It was user error on my part it appears. Working fine today. Fmf mentioned something and it was exactly what they thought.

CMT, P3, Works Connection, TM Designworks, Acerbis, etc. all have 24’ KX450/450X plates of various style available, sure I’m missing a couple other manufacturers as well!

I just picked up the P3 Carbon Skid Plate KX450/450X with Integrated Linkage Guard. Not cheap but it fits great and for off-road this on has the linkage guard. They offer one with and another without the linkage guard.

Has anyone done a vortex ecu with the stock pipe ?

I have done the stock muffler mods, filter cage, cut our airbox, side plate holes, chavez map, have been going back and forth between 50-52 rear sprockets, but I still am wanting / needing little more out of the gate.

I can get a pipe cheaper then a vortex, but if going to do one or the other want to do the best one first lol.

Here is the link if anyone is interested. Looks like it's going to be a nice affordable option.  https://www.acerbis.com/eu/motorsport/plastics/engine-protection/skid-p…
