As stated in the other thread they do have a fundraiser every year we send a team, but for some reason nobody knows or cares: https://www.raiseit4usa.com/
Our best aren't interested unless it is at Red Bud. I think that's why people don't donate.
Well last year the team getting scraped together so late was an issue. The whole golf tournament and stuff had to be cancelled.
I think a lot of people are against the concept of donating their own money so wealthy teams will support their wealthy athletes. The golf tournament is great because everyone who plays gets a lot in return. For those outside socal they should sell T-shirts or hats or something tangible people can take away with their donation. I'd be more inclined to overpay for a Team USA hat than to just send money.

Why on earth would I donate $20 to send millionaires overseas to race dirt bikes for a week?
Put that money into a Road 2 Recovery fundraiser for an injured rider.
Come on guys, cut the crap !!!!
Who payed for redbud....twice ????
Mxdn was always the race of the year, until usa started to loose, again and again, all of a sudden it was too expensive, not on teams budget, the schedule is bad, racers are testing sx, who Cares about a one off race ?? Etc......but if it is in usa it is great again and everybody is in for it, like its a miracle !! all problems vanish...
I bet 2025 will have the greatest race off the year, with the best americans fighting for a place on it.....
I mean....doesn't it seem obvious why they support it more when it's in the USA?
It's probably 1/4 of the logistics and a 1/4 of the cost of doing it overseas.
Pulpmx can run a raffle to hold a lcq race and raise over $100k. But the AMA and the OEMs can’t get together to run a raffle to raise funds for this race? Surely if each OEM put up a bike and they sold tickets during all SX and MX rounds they would raise double that
We talked about this last year. The simple solution is for $1 of every SX/MX ticket sold goes to fund the team...which consists ONLY of riders, mechs, manager and required equipment. Families, friends, hangers on, pay their own way.
That should be MORE than enough so money will never be an excuse going forward. Nobody should ever be forced to go...but nut up and say, "I don't want to go".
I have donated before, but would be MUCH more likely to participate in this scenario...
I sub to the ama and racer x, what else do they want from me?
I still say there shouldn't be wives, girlfriends or man friends even going. These MFers need to feel like they are going off to war and have that mentality. We need one of these last killers to be team manager. RC, RV, Osborne these guys that have made it clear they wanted this race more than anything. Phil should be the team motivator.
Lol... get some!
That may be a little over the top. I'm sure they'll want family/friends around to celebrate or console but not out of an MXdN budget. That just ain't right especially with "money" being one of the major cop outs.
So, did I miss something? Where is it at in 2025?
Has everyone noticed how girlfriends are always at the races now? They pretend they're there to support their rider, but really it's to keep the groupies/Monster Girls from swooping in. At any rate all these girlfriends ever seem to be doing is fucking about on their phones or talking to the other WAGS (freeloaders).
Teams need to trim the fat - too many hangers on at the rigs nowadays.
A Jett fan who doesn't like chicks, who would have thought.
Nice try HandMonkey.
Read the last line. It doesn't matter who's there - girlfriends/boyfriends/manfriends - the point is they don't need to be there. Also, if it's more girls a rider wants, they should ditch the girlfriends guarding the rigs.
You clearly are not aware of Amy Noren. She’s not the only one either.
Your take also implies riders only want tail and have no control over the matter.
Any clue how lonely and monotonous it is to be a top professional?
Moto WAGs are a huge part of many riders’ team in so many ways.
Pit Row
Despiste not being confirmed, it has been talked to be in usa (ironman)
They've always been there, Herr Lich.
The Late Great(s) Marty Smith had Nancy with him in the 70s through to his retirement. Most certainly keeping the groupies at bay, but being much more than just a watchdog. His Mum was famous for providing the best Cakes / treats in the Pits.
You'll find that picture of Decoster's (American?) Wife at the GPs that so many put up as an example of a beautiful, natural lady.
Mikkola had his formidable wife with him.
John Desoto's wife was formidable too - famous for helping riders - not just John, with Contract negotiations.
Dee Dee - Andre Malherbe - had his glamorous Wife with him, when he turned up in his latest Supercar of the era. Yet, she'd be there, keeping track of lap times and whatever else was needed .
And so on and so on. You'd be hard pressed, over the years, to Not find someone very close to the Riders in attendance with them at races.
It's an Individual Sport - not a Team sport such as Footy - whoever's version of it - or whatever Ball and Stick game that the masses follow, where they are a Large group of players, with a far bigger set up behind the teams that (should , and do) replace the family unit. Those employee numbers are far bigger / more numerous than any MC sport, at the venues.
* Look, I too wish there were far fewer 'hangers on', be they family members, 'manfriends' etc, etc. *
Parents? At some stage they should Not be under the awning / inside the Service area, I reckon. Very few adults have Mum , Dad, Brothers or Sisters with them at their workplace.......And things like the (usually) massive retinue of "who the f**k is that person" that we tend to see with the US MXdN team could be reduced, but, we've Always had people with riders at the events.
you'd think they would want it in another area of the country really that's close to Red Bud. I'm not complaining though driving distance like the last 2 for me.
Thinking big picture but the USA is a huge country and holding 3 of the 6 MXoN in the USA within a 150 mile radius kind of sucks.
It’s time for a USA MXoN to be out west.
You beat me too it!
I suggest the promoter in Europe cover the travel expenses for the riders and X number of team members for each rider who have to travel from outside of Europe. The cost for a US team, Australia, NZ etc. to get to Europe is ridiculously expensive these days and the promoter makes huge money by having these very popular riders from the outside countries come race their event. At the end of the day it's the promoter who should be covering the cost of the "talent" to come put on a show the "talent" make zero money on. All of the risk is on the team and riders while Infront collects a massive amount of income from the race, enough money on that one event to cover the expenses for the majority of the teams to travel there. In my opinion I don't think the fans should have to pay anything other than a ticket to watch live or a streaming fee to watch on TV.
Ellie Reed triple stamp it
Mathilde rocked the pit board/whip
Thunder Valley is the top option.
A lot of factors in play though. Is it not at Matterley?
"You can't triple stamp a double stamp."
Just to put things in perspective. This girl has represented Sweden in the womens class at ISDE multiple times. Just like 99% of the riders in the world she has a daytime job to found her riding.
Don’t you guys find it little ironic to bitch about the most well payed riders in the world having to race ONE race for free each year if they have the LUCK to be able to race for your country?.
The US based riders that might be in the mix for making the team make more money on one SX night than what it would cost them to fly away for a week, pay tickets for their family and man-friends and get a memory for life.
The rest of the world have to BEG for money to make it there, while your riders have it in overflow and there is still complaint about the money from both the riders, Steve and the teams?.
I promise you that going to that race will make a way larger impact on Emelies personal economy than what it would do at Haidens or who ever bitch the most about it.
Just give something back to the sport that all ready have filled your bank account…
RJ said a number on pulp what it cost him to go to France with all his family and what ever, and he did not complain about it and it sounded like he would do it again if he could.
That’s the mentality a rider should have for MXDN. Not the ”im not going if i can’t win” or don’t get payed.
As usual, you nitwits are focused on the wrong thing.
The promoter runs this as a commercial for-profit event.
The promoter makes no profit without fans
There are no fans without the riders and the teams.
Why should the riders and teams (or the fans) subsidize a for-profit promoter beyond the spectator entry fee and any sponsorships the promoter sells? That's lunacy. The promoter should be paying the teams and riders to show if the promoter is running this as a for-profit event.
This no longer is the event it was until the 80s. When the promoter wants to run it as a not for profit event (not a loss, just not strip mining dollars from all the other stakeholders) then maybe we can sell cookies for fundraisers for this noble sporting event.
