For High Point the 80s - 90s isn’t that bad …… But Don't forget the humidity!

Only a little ways from me, but the flat brimmed fitted cap, tattooed crowd chased me away from attending a decade ago. Literally heard some of these dudes once arguing that their FMF Tshirts were supposed to be pronounced Famoof or some such shit at that race years ago. Peacock works fine.

I have been to High Point countless times over the years and it always seemed like it was super hot and humid, like is being forecast or we were freezing to death and it was raining.  Only seemed to be nice weather, temp wise a few times.   With the advent of being able to watch it live on Peacock, I have little interest in being there anymore.   I’m old and somewhat cranky so that might play a role also 😂.  Can’t blame Alph for not wanting to go.  Hope all that do go enjoy it.   Go Chase!!

As I get older, going to the outdoor races gets less appealing. Long lines to take a leak in a Porta-John with a foot of shit over the top of the seat, overpriced shitty food, all the good viewing spots taken over by VIP sections, $60+$30 to get in the pits for a couple hours, people there to party rather than watch the race and carrying you own chairs everywhere you go.  SX is much more of a better live experience.

In the PNW we start to die at 75f. It hit 80 this weekend and it was too hot. And I've lived in Mississippi and Sacramento, CA so I have seen plenty of 100+ days. But that was long ago and I'm no longer acclimated to heat.

I will say this, tho: TV cannot compare to leaning on the fence when a truly fast mfer comes blowing by, splattering yer Tshirt with roost. That shit never gets old…

It's currently 100* in northern CA and it's hotter than hot shit. Can't keep the sweat band dry on my hats anymore.

Is it just me or is it strange for High Point to not be held on the traditional Memorial Day weekend?

Still strange not having Steel City. We were truly spoiled by having them both on the schedule.

That is just more evidence of how depleted the field was last year.  Those guys missing?  Would barely be top 10 guys, except Roczen.

And the guy that's still there?  He's a 7-10 place guy now too.

We're in a transition, and Jett's timing is perfect.  The competition will eventually improve, but not for a couple years it seems.  More of the same for a while...

J Coop, Hunter and Chase have most of the skill needed to win, and they will get a few here and there, but Jett has it all (speed, endurance and racecraft) and will get most of the wins for now.  The real question we cannot answer is, for how long?

Gone . . . but replaced by Sexton, Hunter, Cooper, Anderson, Barcia, Stewart and Craig. Or in other words 7 of last week's top 10 were not at High Point last year.

Why did steel city get the boot? Was watching old rv & rd battles just last night thinking how good that track looked.

With all the college students that showed up with coolers before it was always funny to see them passed out and sunburned to hell laying there along the fence.
