sport is very mental obviously. when deegan says shit it probably just helps him believe. he seems to be a little psychopath that will convince himself that he is the best... and then everyone else will start to believe. it's wildly entertaining and he's fun to watch on the bike.
not saying this as a bad thing. it seems to be more than just for show with deegan. he wants to win. we need more of that.

I think I get it. Ever since the incident in sx where deegan flipped off vialle for something he didnt even do hes been talking shit about him every chance he gets. I think the deegan show realized that instead of apologizing to vialle for the mistaken identity instead they could just double down and create a better show/rivalry by just continuing it on from there for as long as possible. The fact that vialle went on to win the sx championship makes the “rivalry” even better for ratings. The deegans just needed a reason to create a rivalry and that was the gift. It comes across as super weird that deegan keeps talking shit for something vialle didnt even do, if anything vialle should be mad for the flip off, but deegans are gonna deegan. The origin story of this one is just…. wut?
