The 2025 250 airbox appears to be a bit different than the 2024 450 unit.

It may be less expensive to install the Twin Air Powerflow kit. Installation took us about 2 hours

I was told it’s “basically” the same 25 250 vs 24 450. My source is an industry guy who test bikes. He has been off before but not often.

I posted this in the 2019 + thread as well** but the 2024 is the same clutch. I am going to invest in a full clutch set up on mine! My buddy already broke his stock clutch plate on a magazine bike yikess. I broke a few on my 23. Both stock plates & hinson plates. Full set up is the way to go IMO. Anybody have any insight or direction or experience on rekluse or hinson?

24 and 25 have a different part number on the air filter, but the same holder. The airbox has a different part number, but I think it's because one is green and one is black. Kawasaki has the parts lookup for them.

we had issues with the stock plates and baskets, The metal start grates were really wearing on the basket nut, it started to loosen as there is no lock washer -  red Loctite was not doing the job.

We upgraded to a full Hinson outer and inner basket, and made a lock washer with a tab to fold on to the nut to keep it from getting loose.

We did end up using the stock plates, as the Hinson plates were really tight tolerance, and my rider wanted more play before the clutch engaged.

PC users, please advise…

Is this gap from header to cylinder normal. Not sure why pc has this tab in place other than a stop from header going into cylinder- but after a bunch of wrestling, this is where mine ended up.  Normal??!

Mine has the same gap, about 3mm or so. Not sure what the tab is for 🤷‍♂️

Hello all, I am new to this forum and this will be my first question. I read that some folks are running a 1.8 radiator cap on the 24 kx450. I was wondering why that is and if I should be doing  the same. Oh, and I just picked this up almost a month ago.

It’s helps keep it from overheating! If you only ride 10/15 min motos, it’s not an issue, unless you’re a pro! But still they aren’t expensive it’s just good insurance!

I figured as much. I was just curious to see if there was another reason. I noticed this bike likes to puke coolant more than my old 22 rmz450. I don't think that bike ever boiled over. Wonder why this one does more often.

Stock on the Japanese brands is 1.1 so going to a 1.8 or 2.0 is a good idea. Higher pressure raises the boiling point .

For reference KTM/Hus/GG stock is 1.8

Thanks for the reply.  PC just said some peoples go in the whole way to the tab, and others don’t. Said it’s fine to run… but seems odd to me. Guess if you haven’t had an issue, it’s ok?  I haven’t started it with it yet, but will look it over closer for leaks over the weekend.

After three 20min motos. Wasn't even dusty.. would have liked a even bigger filter than the twin air powerflow.

You and me both.

I wish it was as big as the KTM, but the Kawi Twin Air Powerflow set up is light years ahead of the stock POS system.

Waiting for the sand pre- filter sock to be available for this filter...

This was a DUMB question on my part.  I mistakenly was looking at the ‘24 diagram with the normal air filter cage and center bolt holding the cage.  Thought they made it reminiscent of the old Klx days…. My bad.

I had a question about opening up the stock exhaust. I know, Im sorry, Im sure this topic has been beat to death. I have both screens out and the baffles bent flush so they are no longer protruding. The question is, should I have just cut them out? Or will bending them like I did be sufficient enough to get the desired results? Also, should I be adding fuel with the tuner to compensate for the added air flow with the intake grommet removed and exhaust opened up? I am about 1000ft above sea level if that makes a difference. I've read the entire 61 pages and have found that some say the bike is rich, some say the bike is lean from the factory.

How do you keep the frame and swingarm nice looking on the kx?

My local dealer started carrying Kawasaki and has one of these on the showroom floor
