Cairoli SX in 2011

That would be awesome if he showed up at some SX events. I hear allot of people saying Tony has nothing to gain by doing it. Well the people that employ him(ktm) do and I'm sure if Tony does well he'll be rewarded well by ktm.

I for one think if Tony trained hard for sx in the off season he could do a whole lot better then allot of you give him credit for. I'm sure if I say I think he could win you guys would clown me so I'll just say I think he'll do better then u think he will. Bottom line is winners win and Tony is a winner.

One more thing. Dammmmmmnnnn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His girl is soooooooo HOT!!!!!!!!

Look what happened to Albertyn and Tortelli. They beat Everts in the GP's and rode some SX's with success part time before coming here full time. They were hurt all the time when they tried doing the full SX calender every year. Which in turn ruined their outdoors as well.

Exactly! Unless your French - as a Euro - you have no business on an SX track
Gee so Grant Langston from South Africa who won a lights title and Ben Townley from New Zealand that won a lites title had no business on a SX track either. lol You guys that have no understanding of MX and SX outside the states are clueless. You mention Albee and Tortelli. Both of those guys won a 250 SX main event and many Americans in their era tried and failed because of a guy named MC. To get one win back then was a big deal.

Maybe, Stefan Everts made a valiant effort as well.

Searle wasn't doing too badly for a complete SX novice... until he fell over in a corner. Sad

You guys have seen Antonio's jumping and general bike skills right?!?!

He'd be fine... He's hardly like watching Albee in 95...

Of course he's capable of making main events. Hairy I think you're over reacting a little bit. I agree that other than Bercy SX tracks in Europe don't really compare to the AMA tracks, but he does have reasonable SX skills, he's hardly a novice. (He beat Weimer at Genoa in 2007)

Plus, he's already won three World titles (with the strong possibility of a 4th this year), I'd be more concerned about Musquin ruining his career than Cairoli who has already achieved so much.

Musquin is made for America. He raced SX since he was six, and outdoor is a sideline. All he has to do is double his English vocabulary to 100 words before he goes over there.;-) And he will be starting in the Lites.
100 % agree.

Marvin won't ruin his career by racing in America.

Pourcel cracked it first season, no reason Cairoli can't kick ass out there too.
You can't compare AC and CP about their SX skills.

If he can get his whoop speed up, SX won't be harder for him than it is for anyone else.

Yhe guy's talented and that gets you a long way in SX.

I don't think so.

You under estimate Cairoli's lack of SX training for several years now...

Supercross has always claimed riders. I don't think any great rider has escaped getting dinged to the point of missing races except maybe McGrath, and even he broke his wrist or a bone in his hand. It just comes with the territory.

Haha, MXA thinks this is the worst soundtrack ever put to an MX film. Guess they've never listened to a TWMX or RaceX vid. Sports Metal and Gangsta Rap are a 1000 times more offensive to the ears.

Would love to see Cairoli do some SX in the U.S.

cmon guys, if a rider is so good outdoors theres no reasons he cant be good in sx too with a little training... He can jump and the biggest problems will be the woops..
Watch what Paulin did after 3 weeks of riding.. not bad IMO

I think you under estimate Cairoli. he has plenty of time to practice. He isn't going to win races but he will be just fine. He has enough talent.

Paulin is a former World BMX Champion I believe. That might lend a hand in his ability to ride SX well. Know of any other BMX guys that did good in SX? Whistling

I am talking about GP riders, not just Euro riders. I cited Tortelli and Albee because they had so much hype about them being here because of what they did in the GP's. The point is Townley and GL won on lites. Other then Reed and JMB who is else came right in and won from the GP ranks in the big bike class? Remember the buzz around Coisey a few years ago because he did good at Bercy he must be able to kick ass at SX. He didnt make half the events and made the top ten once I think on a factory Honda. I think Tony will have a harder time then guys like Musquin and Paulin.

Was not so easy for Paulin...

He particulary struggled in the whoops...

Sorry, but I don't under estimate Cairoli.

I'm just realistic.

Very true.. CP is a one time world champ and AC is a 3 time world champ. It's funny how a French guy puts CP on a higher level then AC. I think AC would be just as good at SX as CP was when he first came over..

Well, hopefully he will come to the US in SX and show us what he's made of... only time will tell.

We can't compare AC to CP!

outdoors AC is better, he was usually faster than CP, indoors I think CP is better- he is a more technical rider imo. But I think with time and practice AC can be good at it. But he is way behind in SX experiance coming from italy compared to CP when he first went over - don't forget CP won his second ever sx against RV in 07.

Nothing to do with the nationality of the rider.

I would say exactly the same thing if Cairoli was french and Pourcel italian.
