Pit bits says Honda might release new versions of both bikes for 2025. Honda has always staggered the release of new generation bikes. Do we think they will totally redo both bikes, or maybe just make some updates to the 250 with a whole new 450? We have seen how modified the airbox is on the 250, I imagine they want to get more power out of it for the customer ASAP.
It sounds like both bikes will receive new chassis and bodywork for 2025 (look at the MXGP bikes for reference) and new airboxes that are similar to the US race team ones.
I wouldn’t count on increased power. The corked up exhaust and airbox on the 2024 KX450 is a result of the upcoming 2025 FIM noise requirements that lower the current dB/A from 115 this year to 112 next year. Expect many motocross bikes to get a power haircut next year. That’s why the 2024 KX450 is like a completely different bike with an aftermarket muffler.

I hope they build an all new engine to go in the all new chassis! I really like the current generation, but it could do with more power and torque to compete with the rest of the field, especially with triumph entering the picture, which I guess is part of Hondas motivation to bring forward the update 1 year (if it happens).
The 250f is noticeably down on power and gets pulled everywhere so I hope it finds a couple more horsepower. Sounds unlikely though if it’s just getting a new chassis and air box

Have any pit pics of the 250? The pre-season photos had the old-gen CRF250, right

250 will be 2026 model. 22-25 will stay the same for 250.
Not what ML is saying…
25 Honda is a good topic. I kicked around posting on it. Be interesting to see what Honda does. 22,23 and 24’s may be down a tick on power. That said I can’t ride my 23, 250R as fast as it will go lol. It took me a while to get my Honda 23 dialed in but once I got the rear spring right it’s easy to ride and will turn. Hope they keep the rider triangle, fits big guys and well engineered. Also hope in 25 Honda doesn’t make a high rev screener just to get HP. Current Honda power band is really good for many of is.
Zanchi's 250 isn't a real HRC effort in a sense, so he's on the old bike.
When is the first round of the Japan Mx series ? I guess if there is a new 250 we might see it there first ?
Possibly not, for some reason the OEMs don't really seem to do works 250s in that series anymore.
I hear not only new 250/450, but works editions of each as well
If they are going to have a 250 and 450 on the factory team for a while, it makes sense to release the newest generations at the same time, and for them to market both bikes with works editions.
At the same time, might just be trying to hit the FIMs newest noise regulations.
I also wonder if more people are buying 250s, and Honda is not prioritizing the development of the 450 as much. When you just trickle down parts from the 450, instead of developing for both at the same time, the 250 development has to be sub-optimal.
Or it's a mix of everything.
probably a long shot.. but any chance, we do have info, if shock from current gen. will fit the next gen frame? considering buying an Ohlins shock, but I would like to get the new 250 model, when it will be released and carry the suspension over. Cheers
Check Into www.andreaniusa.com as well. Both Andreani and Ohlins are located practically next door to each other , here in Hendersonville NC. I had my YZ250F suspension done by Andreani. They have a guy name Pietro there that is awesome on suspension work.
Am I crazy or was there a thread started yesterday with a picture of the '25 models? I can't find it today, did it get pulled down?
there was for sure.
You're not crazy. The OP must've deleted it.

The OP said he got it from Instagram, but it was taken down from there.
MXG dude posted on YT last night they are releasing a 250 works edition for '25.
So did it look all new or what?
Yes new 250 and 450 plus works editions
I made the topic yesterday...
Everything I could analyze is that the 250 received the entire structure of the 450 from the MXGP, in addition to a Work Edition version, with suspensions with kashima coat paint, in addition to the Yoshimura exhaust, and also, incredible as it may seem, a hydraulic clutch kit.
It's strange that the HRC rider in MXGP is using the old 250 model, and from the images the bike is ready to be launched on the market.
And I suspect the leak from Honda was done on purpose. It creates hype. We wouldn’t be talking about it if they hadn’t.
The post was available for exactly 30 minutes until they removed it...
Well they're out at Pala today!
Looking forward to a detailed test report.
I simply can’t get behind the shrouds. I understand it is a throwback to the 80’s but it doesn’t fit with the rest of the bike like last year.
Anyone find out if the CRF250R WE comes with a 2.15 rear? Would be a shame to have to replace the upgraded rim to fit the 110 tire it comes with...
