I'm too lazy to look it up, so somebody remind me....when do they have to have bikes available to consumers by?
Given the rumors flying around that they are struggling to have enough bikes and parts for the Team and it doesn't seem like a single customer has purchased one yet....at what point are they violating the homologation rule and will anything be done about it?

Hasn't changed
200 bikes by 3/1 eh?
This bike was at PIR last Thursday and at the OneMoto Show in Portland. From what the Triump Rep alluded to is that the bikes are in country
bikes or in country?
That's the only bike in the country or there are more bikes in the country?

Triumph paid the right people and are getting the royal treatment, nothing is going to happen to them. Was hilarious to see the difference between triumph and beta at Nashville supercross. Triumph rig basically at the pit entrance by all the kawi rigs, banners everywhere.... beta in the back corner and I'm guessing most people never knew they were there. Triumph is getting what they paid for I guess.
are - remedial typing is in my future
Beta USA race team is not an official factory team. They are supported by the factory but running their own small budget.
I've brought this up in a couple threads and some Triumph guy keeps downvoting it, but there is zero chance they had 200 bikes on dealer floors available to purchase, with sufficient parts availability, by March 1st, which is the rule. I am starting to think having the full 400 by June 1st is a bit of a dream as well.
But yeah, you won't hear a peep out of the ama as far as a fine goes.
I wonder if they had a rider in the Title Fight if any of the other manufacturers would protest them?
As fans we should look the other way as it is good to have more rides available. How many years have we said "dude deserves a ride" but when looking we knew there just weren't any.
As a customer this sucks because there are lots of guys willing to buy if they could. I'm guessing like in the photo above there are lots of 50+ guys wanting one.
BFD, so they don't have enough bikes in the country or probably even built. When have AMA rules ever been fairly administered ever, so why would anyone expect any different. I think they need to drop the numbers because if the amount of people racing keeps getting smaller there is no point.
Nobody said it was a big deal....just discussing a current moto topic on a moto discussion board. Sorry if that offends you.
I don't understand what you mean by "I think they need to drop the numbers because if the amount of people racing keeps getting smaller there is no point."
Are AMA Supercross entry numbers dropping? Are manufacturers pulling out of racing AMA Supercross? Can you clarify?
I'm in the southeast and I've been waiting on one from my dealer since March and they keep telling me any day now. I don't think they have any clue about what's going on either. It's not a great look for Triumph. I've called around to as many dealers as I can find within like 4 hours of me and they're in the same boat.
One of the things that is weird for Triumph is who gets the bikes? Triumph dealers from what I've seen is they are Harley type dealers with zero clue about dirt bikes.
That's the word around here at the two dealers close to me. No idea when they will get thier bikes, let alone parts for those bikes.
I was supposed to get mine last month. They’ve gone radio silent the past 3 weeks. Not impressed in the slightest.
Yeah the parts situation is another concern for me as well. If the bikes take this long, I'm concerned parts availability is gonna be less than ideal
I'm guessing if there is any truth to the team having problems getting parts, its because they're reserving them for the production lines to meet their homologation requirements.
Pit Row
Unfortunately, I think the meeting homologation requirements ship has sailed
That's not the rule they don't have to be on the dealer floors, they have to be in the country and available to dealers...big difference...
Correct, those are the amateur rules...
Pro rules...
"f. Importation quantity deadlines:
1. Minimum 200 units by March 1st of the current season.
2. Minimum 400 units by June 1st of the current season."
I'd still be surprised if they had 200 units in the country 2 months ago (or even now). I mean, motorcycles sitting in a warehouse and not in dealers taking advantage of the new bike hype seems like an interesting business model.
Do you think they had 200 bikes in the country and available to dealers as of March 1? Of course not. This is unprecedented, it will be interesting to see how the AMA handles it. As far as I can tell there are no enforcement guidelines in the rules.
Meanwhile Ducati is monitoring with great interest . . .
I don’t even think they had 200 production bikes built by March 1.
I got told my bike would be here for then. Then it became March 14. Then that became April 1. On April 2 I called my dealer and asked what the ETA was, they replied with “your bet is as good as ours”
Well… it shouldn’t be.
Imagine if Stark had these delays how people would react…
😂
I swung by a triumph dealer by my place when I was initially looking for the bike and they were telling me that they had opted out of selling the moto stuff because they would have had to basically revamp their shop in order to sell and service the bikes as they mainly did street bikes there. It was gonna cost them like 50k. Their words, not mine. So what I got from that was that basically triumph has certain requirements for a dealer to be able to sell the bike and it comes with a hefty price tag. I'm not sure if that applies to dealers that sell off road stuff as well as triumphs, but for the on road only dealers it's a big undertaking.
I didn't say that all I did was clarify the rule.
They won’t do anything. They don’t want to discourage a large manufacturer from joining.
Corporations own the rule makers and enforcers. This isn’t an AMA or moto specific situation.
Just like the pictures from the speedy video reveal, I heard they are going to start sending actual frames to dealers next week. I can't wait. I wanna see one of the frames in person. Then I can decide if I wanna put plastics on it or not. From the master piece displayed in the video, I'm leaning toward not!
