To the topic at hand, I find his race commentary cringe and horrible as well. He makes me miss Ralph, which I never would have guess could have been possible 15 years ago or so.
Yet in certain contexts he can be good, like in certain moto films, podcasts, and I've even incorporated some Ricky-isms into my everyday parlance ("Gotta make hay while the sun shines").
There's a mute button..
This has been pointed out over and over. It’s even been brought up on the pulp show while weedge is on and he just flat argued and went on about the weekly meetings the production team has and how everyone else is wrong.
The mute button doesn't elevate the broadcast where it needs to be.

Call me crazy but make it a 4 person panel between Weege, RC, JS and AC let them figure out where they fit best. 😏
His improvement is nonexistent, he’s probably gotten worse over the years if anything.
I didn’t listen because he was on the broadcast. Glad he is improving.
There was a joke at the end of Terrafirma 2 where 2 amateurs or non-moto guys from the film were goon riding the Supercross track at Castillo Ranch and then someone said, “I am getting better” like a lot of racers would say if they are practicing a lot and improving.
One guy did a quick “wave” as if it was a freestyle move and then Jeremy had the punch line “he was pressuring me”.
The goons were MC and Steve Lamson, goon riding.
I can’t believe I would have died not knowing that. I was convinced it was set dudes who didn’t know how to ride similar to how I would be seen rolling doubles on a Supercross track. That is true talent I am now an extra Lamson fan since he was so good on a 125 hard to ride but was invisible to most of MX history just because he didn’t have a big bike career. Hard to believe one of the best small bore records is now just stats where no one talks about him. I went up to his pit in Gainesville and he was kind of shy and let his riding do the talking so that may have made him less of a fan favorite as a laid back guy from Nor Cal.
RC is a disaster in the booth. He offers zero value and misses so many things. The guy said Eli's shock was causing the smoke in Daytona.....doesn't get much worse than that.....other than using wheelbarrow's as a comparison to the mud race in San Francisco.
for comparison, the proper English is than, not then.. then is an adverb..and English isn't my first language.. make sure you proofread yourself when you try to give lessons..
This is unreal. The broadcast is irreduceable shit, it is a compound fuckup, it can not be reduced to a lower level of shit. It could not be worse at all. The broadcasters refer to riders and each other as if we should know them, by intials, just last names, just first names, just pronouns no name at all, I have not a clue who the fuck they are talking about half the time. Yet in other instances they talk to the audience in red Honda, green Kawasaki type shit as if we know nothing. And let's not even get into cutting away from racing and passes to show us lifestyle shit or interviews with someone I have no idea of. RC's on screen persona has to be an act to appeal to the Monster Truck, Nascar crowd, or something other than people who follow motorcycle racing of any kind, nobody can be that big of a dipshit in real life, how many times in one broadcast can he refer to any number of groups to "guys", who is he talking about? I have not seen a race where I do not feel embarassed for him. It has to be an act. And yes, I am old enough to remember when we just had Wide World of Sports once a year, I prefered coverage back then, it wasn't degrading or insulting to the sport. It showed our sport in a professional light, it's pretty bad when Weege is the star of your broadcast team. What a dumpster fire.
As I type I am watching last weekends race again. If Will, RC, or Weege were in the lineup to call Saturday bingo at my local church they would be fifth through seventh in line to call numbers and letters. And of course there is a mute button, which works well, but is this how you want your favorite past time potrayed to the uninitiated? These athletes that work so hard, do they deserve this half assed presentation? Kenny Roczen has been at this over a decade, raced World Championshionships, basically had his arm tore off in competition, should his story be presented weekly to the masses by people learning on the job? It's embarassing.
Preperate every day like it is a must situation.
Just assume the fans are under the influence, crashed too many times, or kids not old enough to know the difference and not elite fans who are experts of the sport like Vital. Gotta keep it simple…it may take some extra language to draw attention ”2 red bikes out front” selling the obvious observations.
