There were 4 electric bikes (likely Vargs) at GNCC round 2.

One of them raced for 2h10min (sportsman B pace). Interestingly his 3 laps went 55 min then 40 min then 34 min. Starting slow could be a way to gauge range and make sure he won't stay stranded on the track, or maybe something happened on the first lap or he was just playing it safe. His 3rd lap was like midpack Sportsman A laptimes.

No idea how much he had left in the end, he's ranked 225 th overall (481 finishers).

Um, no; yes.  Everything is linier. In a low power modes 10-20HP you can hold the throttle wide open from a stop and nothing too dramatic happens.  Doing that in power modes above say 30HP will likely have your attention quickly; you have so much power you have to be careful with your right wrist.  You are correct there is no "Power Curve" however this is being addressed where you can have  a power "sensitivity" of sorts and something like a adjustable Bell curve to change how and when the power is delivered.  Personally I think the power curve thing is a little over rated and most will find the most efficient power delivery for low lap times will be a linier delivery.  A big low end hit for deep sandy corners or to blip over a log is helpful though.  Imagine a powerful big bore bike with a very flat power curve.  Yes it's very linier in power delivery but it still has big power.  Most racers want a smooth power delivery and use the clutch for those times they don't.

Most RC car esc's have a simple Punch setting usually 1-5 that adjusts the hit in the first 1/4 throttle but is relative to the max power output setting, it can be effective for tuning for track conditions and timing jumps. With the lack of clutch I could see this sort of adjustment being useful for timing under lower power setting.

I think that more and more adjustability will be added as they have more Varg's out in the Wild.

I could see a market for  tunes that   They could finetune areas of the power delivery that are not able to be user adjusted. And be able to test them easier since they would be set, and not as many variables.  So  a tune with more punch in lower HP settings for off road. Or a company like PC  and Stark could work together to offer  a PC KX 125 tune, RV's 250f, Roczen's KX450 that he never raced , etc. or other famous bikes powerbands.

They may be  less rider friendly and harder to ride. But I think that it might be cool to be able to download  a tune and feel what it felt like. A novelty to a degree yes.  But it could also shift into offering the same power curve as a pro rider, or  named after the rider with a similar power style if not the same.  I've said it before, but at the time  I think people were overlooking that there were areas that would not be user adjustable  but that could also be fine tuned .

I had one here , and sitting on it felt like sitting on most modern bikes. Did not feel too thin or too fat for me. Everything felt high end and high quality. It felt like there was much less clutter than other bikes . Everything so clean . I have brand new KTM,Husky,Gasgas,Honda , Kawasaki bikes  in and out often  So I am familiar with most current bikes .  I did not ask to ride it because the owner had not ridden it yet and it was also  muddy and Icey  still on the trails/track I have.

Can the winner do an electric burnout?

It looks thin to sit on from the pictures surprised to hear you say not bad. I think from you that they will tune it like they did with other bikes except Tedesco won’t have to blow up hundreds of engines in testing.

Does that mean the bike can do it all or is that a secret movie smoke show?  Anyone a drag expert?  The future has arrived if you can light it up.

Looks like it may be a good freestyle bike...

Freestyle is a niche of a niche but electrics will have a big impact there for sure. There's also a new vid of Josh Hill riding woods and a skate park.

In the meantime, Taddy B keeps putting in the hard work, 7th last weekend in Spain hard enduro round 3 (3 h race).

Nice little stroll in the woods on the weekend

Then why comment?

Because I like to point out the redundancy of the E-tards that get all excited over and over again over a nothing burger..

There were a couple of Vargs racing at the opening round of France MX veteran championship. The best of them ran midpack in 40-53 years old, had no problem riding practice in the morning and two 25 min races in the afternoon (did not slow down in the last laps either).

Right now range might be an issue for Pro MX but it doesn't appear to be so for vets (which is admittedly slightly larger demographics).

The initial bubble of interest and buzz for this bike seems to be fading pretty rapidly.

Just wait till someone sells the brand to Elon Musk.

Just got my Stark and had my first ride last weekend, definitely quicker on it than my 350 after the first 10 minutes of getting used to it. They are unreal and live up to the hype.

More about Vitard attention span than the bike.

I was surprised yesterday to visit Bud Racing in southern France and find out they had 25 Stark in stock. So I guess that, at least in Europe, the shortage in delivery is ancient story. If you want a Stark it's as easy as go pick it up at Bud Racing's.

Any famous racers in that area?

Seems like there are more bikes sitting in dealer inventory than in folks garages. Imagine that.

So what happened to the 18,000 ? Pre-ordered bikes that people were waiting for ?

Did they either make & deliver all those bikes ? ,

or did a lot of people who had a deposit down bail out when it came to completion of purchase ?

Considering the hype , you would not expect a dealer to have 25 in stock, shouldn't they sell instantly, the very same day they arrive at a dealer ?

You know, you could be right. Even if I'm a lucky Varg owner currently I was surprised on how many pre-orders, dirt bikers seemed to be a financially strong demographic since the price didn't put many off (excluding myself, I still think it's expensive).

The next 12-18months will for sure show the realistic sales numbers.

I warned from the beginning about building out production for 1 time demand and how it was not prudent. Was properly told by the vitards I don’t know shit about business.

Now that 1 time demand has shit the bed and the dealer network is stuffed with units we will see.

Honda entering the Electric Game, KTM will probably do the same, Stark pissed cuz they cant race with the top mxgp class.... And now it looks Yamaha is entering that Formula 1 of electric cars only (Formula-E) haha a different move, eh?
