So they went to a 9 whoop standard for SX and tonight no whoops . Cause you know , safety ! I don't think it's SX without whoops so I don't know what to call this POS track tonight ? Even with 9 whoops it just turns into a triple , triple , triple anyway . But , here's what I think is going on behind the scenes . Much like the start grid which is disassembled after each race and reassembled at the next race . With this whole whoop thing going on this year I think they are looking at synthetic whoop sections that can be assembled and disassembled as needed . It could be a 3 whoop section x 3 and they just pin them together at each race and that will standardize the whoops and that way they are exactly the same whoops for every SX race !? If you think about it , it's all a man made track anyway . So yeah , big giant synthetic removable whoops ! Plus , they could sell set's to all these teams that have training facilities so they can have and practice on the same exact whoops they will be racing on every week . I don't know , but that's all I have to say about it...fire away!

I don’t think it’s a bad idea. You wouldn’t be limited to 9 whoops. They’d have to be durable enough for impact and wheel spin, but ideally not as hard as concrete when someone cartwheels through them.

They explained why they did that. They were planning for a mudder and that was the worse part of the track from the past mudder and wanted to make the racing better if it was a mudder.
Stupid reason IMO. If they got too sketchy they turn them into rollers in about 10 minutes with a dozer, which is what they did in San Fran...

Feld invested heavily into cloud seeding a few years back. At the same time they choose to race in more open stadiums all while pushing less whoops each week. Coincidence or conspiracy. I think both.
