Did anyone notice while there where racers still on the race track, The fans had stormed across the track… pretty sure they lapped to 10th place so the last rider would have been someone like anderson. would love to hear what the riders thought lol

Couldn’t believe it. We were right there and I had to fight to keep my 12 year old son from being pushed out there by the rush of “fans”. Not cool.

Not sure if Anderson was pissed off…or celebrating with the Daytona fans…but he was holding his bike on the rev limiter as he crossed the line and left the track. I’d have to assume he was pissed.

Yep, I saw that too. Very freaking stupid. Several hundred when I looked back.  You could still hear the bikes circulating.

Between the twats that stole Jett’s goggles, the shitheel with the train horn and dipshits crossing an active racetrack, I’d say these were some of the worst ‘fans’ we’ve seen in a long time.

The promoters are the ones who would be fined...

This stuff is ridiculous. Makes me embarrassed as a human being we’re at this point. We’ve got tickets for Philly and as much as I love watching these guys in person I loathe the thought of interacting with drunk douche bags. Mind blowing the people that go to races to get absolutely obliterated.

Then they drive home on the same roads as you and your family…

Unfortunately that’s the target demo of moto, or at least that’s what it feels like at a race. 90% of the fans there have never touched a bike, could tell you more than a couple riders names and are just trying to get wasted

I’m not disagreeing with you about Moto fans. Also I went to 2 NFL games this past season. I was in shock with how many full blown fights I saw in the stands during those 2 games.

I said the same thing about my first game in the '70's.

Daytona is in Florida, right? I've heard that Floridians aren't usually the type to do really stupid shit.

Besides not wanting to step in human shit or get in a fight with aggressive panhandlers, I stopped going to Seattle SX for similar reasons. The “we’re just here to party” crowd seems to make up an ever-increasing portion of the crowd. Besides that, the older I get, the less I want to be around large crowds of any kind, especially those who have been drinking heavily. Nor do I want to be on the road with them afterward.

Put moto fans track side in Florida and this is what you get.

I stood at the fence @ Gatorback when The King was riding a 125 and nothing like this happened.

The Supercross crowd has always been a more of a party crowd, and in Daytona the party crowd is turned up a bit more.  Its a party town, its full of bars, people travel to Daytona to party.  What else would you expect?

I will say this, I did several races at Daytona (working on teams), when you factor the ratio of venue size / crowd size to security personal, its probably the worst venue in the country.  Is that really a bad thing?  No, but when you give people an inch they take a mile.

"Grow the sport" they said.

This is what you get.    Only going to get worse.

Needs to be no general admission next year. Everybody up in the stands with gates locked. Too much liability for the promotors.

This will result in everybody being up in the stands next year with no access to the podium after the race. It will detract from the atmosphere of the race, but it clearly needs to be done, you cannot allow things like this to happen. I can’t even begin to fathom how stupid you have to be to run onto a live race track like that just so you can see someone give an interview

Said it so many times.  You can take the sport out of the backwoods but you can’t take backwoods out of the sport.  Admittedly or not we are no better than NASCAR fans, prove me wrong.

I don't know if i would be so quick to blame rednecks. Probably more about the breakdown of law and of societal norms that we've seen in the last three years
