I'm a real old school guy. I love from the 60s the most. Dave Bickers was one of my heroes. I didn't take these but I feel he deserves some love as the two time European Champion in the 250 class in 60 and 61 before it became a World Championship.

My 1961 Greeves MCS 250 Dave Bickers tribute bike I restored about 12 years ago.

This is me with my Greeves at the Steve McQueen Car and Bike show about ten years ago. I was sitting behind it and a guy walks up to me and says "You know why I like this bike" I said "no, why" He said "because Dave Bickers is my Father". It was Paul Bickers his son. I was floored. He was very humbled that somebody from America honored his Dad. It was a great day for both of us.

I've been more and more interested in this era lately.  Nice pics .

As far as all time images . The Jojo Scrub photo, James Stewart Scrubbing at Budds ( that photo and a Paul Buckley photo of  Windham dragging his bars through an off camber corner there made me want to go to the track) and the RC and McGrath photo of RC whipping beside MC on the parade lap . other than the Jojo scrub phot , I saw others post them all.  The images I'm posting are some of my personal photos I've taken that are meaningful to me. The Reed pic since it feels like its from the 70's to me. The RC JS crash image , because that photo helped me take the leap towards doing what I do now as my full time thing. And it is also the last time that James would ever race with #259. The RC whip at Steel City over the crowd for many reasons. It pretty much summed up the RC era for me. He had clinched the title in the first moto and the second moto ( the photo is from ) was full of big whips and it only looked like he was trying on the first couple laps. He pulled a big gap and that was it. I've printed out posters of that image and RC himself really likes it.  The crowd behind him is another part of the photo that I find cool. They were all cheering him on every lap.  Reed Unadilla 2005James RC NY 2RC whip 07 Steel City 0

This image looks a lot like one that a Friend of mine took that inspired me to get the images I got of RC and James at Binghamton . Matt Francis was the photographer that took the image I am talking about. I only saw his on the screen of his camera after he took it, so I have no idea if it is this same image or not. But its a very similar image if it is not the image he took.

One of my favorites. I could've sworn I've seen this photo from the side - but can't find it unfortunately.

Definitely an iconic photo....

A time capsule for sure.

Agreed, priceless. If you have never watched this FOX video...all three were non-stop chatterboxes in front of a camera back then too. Ironically, 11 year old RC doesn't sound much different in front of a camera now.

I came here for this photo

Best racing pic ever. Mister 125 they called Emig. He had Everts chasing him at the des nations.  Pics missing 96 des nations Lamson doing heal clickers on the down hill quad.  Any pic of Huffman on a 125.  89 Larry Bird battling Donny Schmidt, 89 was the beginning of the new style of all out aggression.  RJ,s huge down hill jump doing a 1 hander.  Larocco 91 Millville on rm125 4 th wo into a corner dragging the bars. There no pic but I saw it. And figured that’s what you hv to do to win.

So many amazing images. Hard to narrow them down to just 3 after scrolling through all the posts.  The ones I listed were the ones that came to my mind.  But after seeing so many other cool images I  don't think I could narrow my list down to just 3.  The Reed crash, Henry crash( a friends sisters husband got video of that crash and sold it to ESPN) the pics from the 80s. Some really cool stuff.

Not a photo per se........bonus points if you can name the four riders. #7 is between two riders, not totally sure myself.

Donny Schmidt I watched the 91 gp,s lastnight.  So quick and aggressive in corners in Switzerland & France with s high intensity . In Holland against Everts he had a Huge lead. They asked him why he’s so fast in the sand. He said he lives in Belgium now but grew up in Minnesota where there’s a lot of sand tracks. He probably rode the Wi. Sand tracks too.  Strange that his name is never brought up.

Now that I'm old and getting into vintage and bought a 73 CZ 250, this image from back then was always a favorite of mine.
