2024 MXGP CHAMPION

Well, I kind of agree with you. But Gajser still has 5 MXGP titles and is one fast and consistent guy on a great team/bike.

I couldn’t agree more, Gajser is a bad ass on a dirt bike for sure.

History says Gajser hasn’t beaten a healthy Herlings to a title.

Nobody has because he hasn't had a single healthy season since 2012 when most of his main competitors weren't even pros yet

History says Herlings hasn't beaten a healthy Gajser to a title either... 🤷

The crazy thing is Gajser has these spectacular crashes and most of the time just keeps going , Herlings has a tipover and he's out for a year .

Would that be the 21 season where Gajser scored in every single moto but Herlings had 3 DNS & 1 DNF scores?

Do you remember that ugly high speed get off Gajser had at Matterley Basin one year? He was adjusting his goggles before he stopped rolling!!

i mean, if you want to ignore the fact that Gajser rode Riola Sardo, one of the toughest tracks in the world, seven days after breaking his collarbone, go ahead

but i'm not sure this looks healthy to me...Screenshot 2021-09-20-20-57-08-00 a23b203fd3aafc6dcb84e438dda678b6

When Gajser snapped his collarbone I think it was. And never regained form the latter part of the season. Herlings is definitely better at riding injured the Gajser. No comparison there. But every year that Gajser has been 100 percent healthy in the 450 class he has won the title.

And it might sound like i'm discrediting Herlings, but i'm not. Whoever won that 2021 championship fully deserved it. All three of them (inc Febvre) were badasses that year and it produced some absolutely epic racing almost every round. I'm only pointing out that neither has beaten the other when they have been completely healthy, and honestly it is a shame. If it happens in 2024, then I'm sure we'll have had another amazing season to enjoy

This is a sad, but exciting stat.

This is just the second time in the last seven years that all of the contenders have been healthy heading into round one...

Herlings was injured heading into 2017, 2019 and 2022. Gajser was injured heading into 2018 and 2023. Febvre in 2020.

I cannot wait and the coverage makes it soo much better to actually watch the racing going on!! Whomever is in charge of our series both Supercross and the nationals needs to tune in to their first race and see how it’s done!!!

That is a very valid point, truly a heroic ride that day but let’s not ignore the fact that Herlings got landed on by Monticelli on lap 1 & still won that race.

Hawkstone on Sunday, still time.

Gajser, Herlings, Prado, Febvre,Seewer,  all fit and ready to go.

Imagine Maxime Reneaux winning in Argentina.

Cant wait

Staying healthy? Herlings hands down. His racecraft is getting better with age, he just cannot hit the deck again.

My bet is Renaux.  Dude is a major threat.

Febvre was on a roll at the end of last year so I have him as my title favorite. Just erratic early in the season. No doubt Gasjer will be in it but I have a hard time seeing him win the series over Prado and Febvre that have been battling all last season. Herlings just has the weirdest crashes and seems to get hurt in every crash. Then you have Jeremy “Gumby” Seewer who tumbles end over end and walks it off.

Gajser won 2 of the last 3 races last year fyi. Prado can’t move thru the pack. The two guys who can are coming in healthy and Febvre is not one of them.

A healthy herlings is going to be tough but gajser looks fast and comfy on that new honda. I just hope everybody stays healthy because you have many fast riders that can win motos. The second crop of riders are not too behind in speed like fernandez, coldenhoff,  jago, forato, mattias, pauls, calvin.  Interesting to see 250 riders that moved up how they will do horgmo, Van de Moosdijk, gifting. Bring on the outdoors, baby.

Going with gajser or herlings for the championship and if maxime can stay healthy he is going to be in the mix.

Herlings ain't done yet and could be said to have the biggest motivation. It could be a really good season if everyone stays healthy. Can't frickin wait.

I haven’t seen Fernandez name mentioned, he’ll definitely be on the podium more this year.

My pinky says Prado will be a bit stronger than in 2023 and so for me he is the favorite. His winter was so intensive, exciting, and racing, that he may have unlocked a bit of the raw speed he was maybe on occasion a bit missing vs. Herlings and Gajser. My assumption is based on that it worked well for JMB, Everts, Pichon, Tortelli, DV, Roncada, Paulin, Musquin, and Roczen, they all performed a bit better after a good winter in Cali.

Very valid point. I think Prado gained a lot this winter. I think you're correct that Prado may have unlocked that path to another level of speed. He didn't necessarily show that last season as Febvre came back and was on a run. But he showed improved race craft and managed his title lead perfectly. This upcoming season I think he can match the level of a healthy Febvre and Gaiser. However, I still want to see if he or anyone can show that unreal level of a healthy Jeffrey Herlings.

This poll is so interesting with Gaiser leading. Hard to argue the results. That's what makes this upcoming season so exciting. My hope is Seewer is out to prove some people/ teams that they are wrong about him, and he gets some early good luck with this new bike/team and gets a few wins early and then watch out. Because that old dog can still hunt. LOL

Yep, I'm Dutch so ofcourse I would love to see Herlings win. But man, Gajser deserves all the respect in the world after what he has accomplished so far in his career. It will be an awesome season if they all stay healthy!

It’s very interesting comming into 2024. Prado have to have the title as a favorite comming into the season as defending champ. And last year he was already very good. Soild all year and championship mode from like round 3. I think he can push it a little more if he has to.

Gajser is interesting, some people use to say that as soon as Jeffrey was racing Gajser was going defensive. Remember the beginning of 2021 Gajser dominated the first few rounds Russia and Great Britain than fall off a little. He also had a small injury that year. If not the top guys in mxgp had their small injuries in 2021 like Gajser with a collarbone herlings with his shoulder after gettin landed on, the points maybe hadn’t been so close at the end.

however if everyone stays healthy it can be a fight down to the wire. But there might be a few guys struggling at the beginning and that will give a guy like Prado or Gajser who usually are very solid a chance to run away.

I’m excited to see what Geerts can bring on the 450, I think he can go home with a few GP wins maybe.

and what are we in for in mx2? Should be a good year racing wise, last few rounds last year was great especially like the GP in holland. Lucas Coenen De Wolf Benistant, Längenfälder, Liam When he’s back Adamo, I think however it’s time for de wolf to bring the title home.
