God bless the farmers.    I have relatives who farmed and have passed.

I can't imagine a commercial like that being made today.

Paul Harvey, what a gem of a writer and an orator.

Funny, I remember when it came out, there was a thread of the same title about the same commercial.

I miss Paul Harvey news and commentary everyday at lunch, and "the rest of the story" in the evenings.

The first, and best ever "influencer"

"It is not one world"

"Good daaaay"

This getting two downvotes says a lot. But nothing good.

My grandfather was a farmer and rancher…if Paul had added cussing like a sailor at cows and baling wire, he’d of nailed my grandfather to a T with that.

And I miss Paul Harvey…his voice takes me back.  How can I miss a voice and a man I’ve never met?

Meh....they're a badge of honor for me.      Just imagine the emotional state of people who downvote every single thing you post. Laughing

Anyone else still have an old blue corduroy jacket in a closet somewhere, attended FFA national convention, or drove a tractor to school?

My high school was too small to support an FFA chapter. Even though there were only 3 town kids in my class of 21.

I had 42 in my graduating class. I think the largest class was 50. My youngest daughter had 28 in her class.

A big school then, one with enough football players to scrimmage with having a manager hold a tackling dummy.

I was in FFA in my hometown of Paris, Texas.  I moved to Austin for college and tried to get a job at a restaurant and the interviewer asked me if I was a pilot.

I started working at 3 yrs old 7 days a week on a dairy farm . We pulled teats no vacuum milking system. Had pigs, chickens & alot of cabbage. The wolf river was way out back . We had maybe 10 apple trees I remember climbing them as a 3 yr old.  Digging wood froze to the ground & covered in snow.  My 1st experience of being Really miserable soaking wet threw my cloths. I was thinking why didn’t we do this in the fall ?  When I was 2.  2nd farm was much bigger milked 44 cows.  I ran the farm mostly when I was 9 in 76 when my dad was committed to a mental institution.  I worked for 4-5 other farmers & made good money . Had my own cow I bought at 12 yrs old. I drove a car at 4 yrs old I used a stick for the pedals. Daily driving was at 9 yrs old .  I did the equipment repairs ,field work, fence building, plumbing , electrical, etc.  2 nd grade cut cabbage with migrant workers, Dutch , German speaking there language & Indians speaking English because they where banned from speaking there language.  Since you work 7 days a week you make work fun . 60-70,s farmers where poor we butchered chickens to eat , etc. funny I remember a few times visiting other farmers either my dad in the 70,s. They had a pirate hook for a hand smoking & pouring brandy in there coffee.  I looked around & saw brandy bottles everywhere in the house & barn . It taught me not to get impaired when  it’s time to work.I worked for farmers until about. 16,17. But   Farming is a million times easier than the trucking world.  Can’t even compare the 2.

Weak commercials this year.  Im guessing companies are staying away from trying to be funny ,they know how easily offended people are theses days.

Skynyrd ALMOST makes up for the Bud Light debacle but I don’t think I’ll ever get over that.

The game was terrible, and I did not watch too many commercials, but I thought this one for Instacart was funny (with Ben Stiller):  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTleZejhlqk

I only watched about the first 10 minutes of the game, never saw anything to get me to continue watching.
