Looked calm all day long and in complete control. As his nerves settle and he gains race confidence his speed will continue to be unlocked (much like his hips).

Anstie looks great and he will be up with the factory boys throughout the series

Hymas is either out of shape or nerves got to him but he looked great for 60% of the race.

Woof, that was the craziest first turn crash in a long minute.

I dont know, Forkner can either be the fastest or yardsale it and be out for a season, will need to see way more than one race from him to be onboard

Most of those were not his fault

It was one more race than last year so I’m happy for him now and don’t need to see a season of proof. Frankly when I saw that first turn pileup I was sure he was in it, given his luck.

Looked effortless out there. Keep it going AF. He commented about not being a young guy anymore several times. I think he's in a good mental space to let the race come to him. He knows he doesn't have to "win" qualifying every time

It's only a gift if it goes down in front of you. For some reason vitards think people win races based on what happens behind them. I guess that's what you think if you don't know how to win from the front.

The guy for once in the last three years wasn’t the talking point of going down immediately. Instead he came back and waxed em the best way, getting the holeshot and leading every lap.

That was a perfectly executed race. Forkner rode smart, doing just enough to manage the lead he had.

A ride like that will grow his confidence and he will get better as the season progresses.

Really happy for him and Mitch.

I saw a kawi go flying and I literally yelled out “oh I hope that’s not Forkner” bummed for the other guys that went down but Genuinely pumped for AF.

First time I’ve seen him manage a lead, he usually goes full send and pulls a big gap. I really hope he wins the title this year- will be a great storyline to follow

The season is now his to control. If he keeps it on 2 wheels he'll split wins with HD and maybe a few others but he now controls his own destiny. I've waited too many years wanting him to get the championship. I think he started at least a year too early and didn't have the body bulk yet. It's too bad he's lost so many years to injury.

Like this comment.

Think there is 2 ways the health can go:

1. the amount of injuries takes its toll and he struggles to reach his potential.

2. The forced time off recovering from injuries lets his body recover enough and he has a long successful career ahead.  I would hope that everyone wants this, I know I do

Hell yeah. I've never rooted for him, especially being a Sexton fan. But I'm all aboard the bandwagon. This is his year

The feel good story of the season so far ; A. Forkner ; the 'Ted Lasso' of super cross.

He's got all the goods to win a Championship.  Would love to see him win it this season then move up to the 450s and compete in that group.  It's still hard to believe that he and Sexton were the two main guys going against each other in the lites a few years back.  Talk about 2 different career paths....Glad to see him start the season so strong.
