The bikes you should have never sold thread got me thinking how many bikes have I owned over the years? (I’m 30) I think it would be interesting for us to tally them up and share our lists! I’m going to include all dirtbikes that I either bought myself or was bought for my as a child
I’m only sitting at 14 I’m sure there’s many members on here that have owned 50 or even 100 bikes
198? pw 50
1997 KTM 50 SR
1996 Xr70
2003 Xr80

In that order. I feel like I might be forgetting 1 or 2, but maybe not.
tc250... Least favourite?? 🤯 Is that a typo?
Honda mini trail, Not sure on the year but one of the earlier ones first or second year they made them. I bought it myself with broken forks and handlebars. The deal was if I found a bike that I could buy , my parents would help me fix it up,I was 5 or 6 and heard it on a swap meet radio show.
1983 Z50
A Hodaka dual sport 250 that never ran that I found in the trash as a kid than traded for one of those z 50's. I was just barely able to push it home. Back then they had heavy trash pick up days 1 time per year. All the stuff that ends up free on Craigs list used to be thrown out on those days. My Dad and I would cruise the rich areas of town and grab bikes and lawnmowers that he fixed up and sold. I learned a lot watching him back then.
1982 Z50
1979 MX100 Yard sale find. Dad got it for me as a surprise and sold it to me. The deal We made with my mother was I could only ride a dirtbike that I paid for.
1983 YZ100 The only bike I did not buy myself. Parents got it for me for my birthday. the bike was around 10 or so years old and they paid $400. the only exception to the rule my parents had . I think my Dad had won 10K on a loto ticket
1990 RM 250 I was 14 years old and just over 6'6" 190 pounds. It was from a local guy who had raced it for a few years. I was so excited it was the first bike that had a real graphic kit on it. The Tecnosel worx graphics. Not sure on the spelling but something like that.
1989 YZ250 A fixer upper that was running backwards
1997 CR 250 My first bike as an adult and the bike I started to race. My Parents would not allow me to race until I was 18 and could do it all on my own.
2000 CR 250 First brand new bike!
2001 CR250 Second brand new bike
2002 CRF450 First 4 stroke MX bike 3rd brand new bike Burnt when garage burnt
*2002 CRF450 Burnt when garage burnt but have what's left of it.
*2003 CRF450
*2018 RMZ450
* = bikes I still have.
Bikes listed in the order I had them. I think thats all of them.
I was wondering what the hell happened to ya Bobby, glad to see you back ya hippie.

What good is a dirtbike thread without pics?! 😅 I’d say the most recent off-road bike that I wish I didn’t get rid of was my 2014 350exc. I bought it new in early 2016 I had it built & feeling exactly how I wanted a bike to feel. I kept it in tip top shape too. The 350 was THE best bike for off-road IMO between all the 250/450’s that I owned & that’s why I wished I would’ve kept it.
Edit: WRONG THREAD 🤣
I went through the list of bikes that I've had with my wife the other day. It's a good thing she understands my hobby.....

There was a bit of cash on my end on that one - but I traded it in to a dealer who's a buddy of mine and he'd rebuilt the 13 so he knew it was solid so the difference was minimal (don't recall exactly how much). When I sold it (the 17 350 (2021) bikes were scarce so I got top dollar.
Not counting the Honda 50 Cub and a Honda CL175 that my dad was going to ride from rental land rather than roadrunning back home at the end of the job:
1975 Kawasaki KS125. It didn't take long to strip the lights off it.
1976 Suzuki RM100
1977. 1980, 1981 RM250. Suzuki made a hell of a lot of progress in those years.
1979 RM125
1982 Husky 125 XC (Husky had a promotion that year and tossed a pair of Ohlins shocks and a 175 big bore kit)
1983 Honda CR250. The first owner did a hell of a job of de-adjusting the DLS front brake.
1988 Yamaha YZ250
1990 Kawasaki KX250
1994 YZ250
1997 RM250 (one of Rodney Smith's old bikes. That one and the Husky are the only bikes I wish I still had.)
2002 Honda CR250. Then another 2002 CR250 after the first one was stolen.
Current dirt bike: a 2019 KTM 150 SX.
The only street bike I've ever owned is still in the garage, a 1993 BMW R100 GS.

Born in 89, didn't get my first bike until around 12 years old but had been obsessed with the sport from around 6yrs old. Then when I was around 16 the local club and track basically died, I had no where else to ride really and by that stage me and my mates were surfing at every opportunity so sold the bike. Didn't get another bike until last year at 33 despite following the sport closely the entire time.
