Two races instead of three. But make the two longer. Teams are in a mad scramble triple crown nights. Favors the big teams and sucks for the smaller teams.
I guess the only logical way to make something better is to have more of it , quadruple crown races?

This is the pinnacle of professional dirtbike racing. If you can’t figure out how to do a triple crown effectively, then you probably don’t need to be doing it.
You’re telling me there’s people who don’t like seeing the best of the best race each other 3 times a night? They would rather just see em race once? Weirdos….
Full points for each moto. 3 wins = 75 points! The triple crown races force the riders to make the most dangerous lap of a SX race 3 times for the same amount of points of a regular race. I my self would rather see a 30 minute plus 2 lap main in place of the triple crown races.
Triple Crowns are the best SX event on the schedule.
Wish 50% of the events were Trip Crown.
3 Races, 12 mins each......and see how much better and closer the racing is during these sprint events vs the 20 lap main event where there is very little close racing and position changing after the 12 minute mark.
Start double file with 40 guys on the gate and last 10 get cut from the next race so down to 20 for the last main. Privateers make the night show and there will be chaos.
Only way to make it better is to shit can it.
Full points is too much. If something happends like last week and tomac gets a 9th overall he's basically out the championship by round 4. You could win every race but do shit in 1 or 2 of the triple crown races a year and lose the championship.
5 minutes longer for each event and come up with something different for some obstacles
If they add races to the intermission then they won't be able to work on the track.
Other ideas...
1. run the track backwards for the 2nd race of the night.
2. Race 1 is 250, Race 2 is 450, race 3 is a team event with 1 250 and 1 450 each.. they swap 2 laps at a time for 12 laps total.
3. Do a week long SMX event for the Daytona Bike Week round like what the Mini-O's used to be with a TT, SX, MX, and Hare Scramble event on different days.
Here's how I'd make it better:
1) Split the field into two groups for each class.
2) Run a qualifying race for each group, wherein the top 9 go directly to a "Main Event."
3) Run a last-chance qualifier for the remainder from both groups, but only the top 4 will make the "Main event." This "Main Event" will be the solitary points-paying race.
4) Remove the name "Triple Crown," and instead call it "Supercross."

I like triple crowns. The last minutes of mains get boring (unless Webb is in second and closing) a lot of times so it spices things up in my mind. It does suck at times when a rider just has to finish like 3rd to take the overall and does not race as hard as he normally would the third main. Other than that, they are pretty sweet.

So your saying that short races are not worth full points? If that is the case why have them? I can’t stand the triple crown races, way too much risk to the riders for the same points and money!
I’ve actually come around to the Triple Crown. Originally I was not a fan. Here is my main gripe though. We all love it when we go into moto 3 when with multiple riders tied and it’s winner take all. Which is … exactly how it always is every night on a normal night. I would make a slight change. In the final moto, the top 5 get points awarded. 5 points for 1st and 1 point for 5th. Etc. Etc. The overall results are still given based on overall combined score. I just think it would make the third moto much more exciting if it has points on the line so riders won’t just coast to a 4th place finish to secure the overall win. But not too many points to where it really throws off the overall points in the series with one round having a ton on the line.
I think it would be cool to have a B main - the 10 fastest non- qualifiers from both classes. 10 250s and 10 450s for some cash.
But overall I like the triple crown races due to more racing. I understand the argument that it leaves the less supported riders out of the night show, but I want to see the best that night race more often.

17 rounds with a few a few triple crowns thrown in to mix it up a bit. I can live with that....just keep the effing rain away and we are good.
Yes we could have 2 races with half the field in each and then the top 9 go straight to the "A" main and everyone else goes to the "B" main and then the top 4 from the "B" main make it into the "A" main. Gee its almost like its done already.

I'm having a couple buddies over tomorrow to cookout and have some beers and watch the race later on and I'm glad its a triple crown. Hard to explain heats/LCQs don't actually matter and we are watching this 3 hours of programming and the only thing that matters is the last 20 minute race and it feels like its over very fast.
