was Jett rly talking about getting 73 wins? After 1 win? xD

No. All he said was that it was a goal when he was asked a question. Nothing more. Nothing less.

People are twisting it into something else. They're saying he'll beat McGrath's record.

Edit: Jett never said he'll beat it.

I like Jett but damn, not a call at least to talk things out? Kid, you need to learn and do things the right way.

Agree. The "kid" shit can take a back seat. He is 20 years old. If a 20-year-old commits a crime and goes to trial he is referred to as an adult, etc. Being a 20 year old comes with expected immaturity. But he is not a "child". MC was only 22 in 1993 when he won 10 races his rookie season lol.

man. Roczen. Savatge. Forkner. Deegan. McGrath. Carmichael. AC. DV. Swap. Ryder D.

ALL of 'em laughing at this in support of JA. I think it's fair to say that Jett isn't the most popular dude in the paddock.

Still getting a kick out those not noticing…”…my man Jett comes up to me after he passes me and beats me. Barks in my face. I bark back.” Establishing Jett is Jett…and with respect.

Then moves on to the point: “We live in a day where kids throw a fit and stand behind everyone for the media clean up crew. Guys don’t keep it real or take responsibility for themselves.”

So, I guess we’ll just ignore the point whilst we keep up all the typical fan-boy shit. There’s a message in there that’s from the older dude to the younger dude. Yes, what I’m saying is that Jason’s a little pissed AT Jett. But, just a little.

He’s really pissed at all the people handling “my man Jett”.

But, I could be wrong.

I agree-- .

And to add to that --- I do not proclaim to know Jett's dad Dazzy at all, but I do know THIS --my Dad would have kicked me in the ass repeatedly until I went over personally to hash things out --- as I would do with my kid under the same circumstances.

On one hand... was Anderson being a dick by brake checking and what not.. YES! On the other hand.. you simply DO NOT grab a GROWN MAN'S helmet like Jett did unless you are prepared to throw down. Its basically the same as putting hands on someone. If you do that, you best be prepared to go all the way with it. Dumb move on Jett's part.. but hell.. I did a lot of stupid shit when I was 20.

A pampered athlete acting like an entitled brat, unbelievable. Hopefully he learns his lesson out of all this. Its gonna take him some time to dig out of the PR hole he's in either way.

Jason Andeson has never been one of my favorite moto people....but my stock in him just went WAY THE HELL up.

The whole thing being taken care of by handlers on Jetts side is indicative of todays generation.       Total chicken shit.

If this is the "future" of MX/SX.....you can have it.

Oh yea, the Lawrence's Inc. is all about the Benjamin's ....hard to believe they lived in a cave and ate bark to get here...

I was a Jett fan a couple of years ago, and he had the sport by the balls--- but something like this could certainly derail the "Jett Train's"  popularity

Not a good look for Jett.  Stuff like this will certainly make it tough to get to 72 wins.

A part of me believes Mirtl deserves some blame for how unlikeable Jett has become as of late. The media blackout, posting for Jett instead of making him speak up personally, pushing fan zone plugs in apologies… in an attempt to handle everything PR-related for him, he’s allowed Jett to be unaccountable for when things like this happen.

Not to excuse Jett, but this would’ve been dead by Sunday had his agent done his job correctly, and forced his client to apologize personally.

I was thinking the same when I read others comments about "calling JA to apologize", I would pull my kid over by the ear if he didn't take it upon himself to go apologize face to face.

Whats key to look at here is how many peers have liked this post and are supporting it. There’s no smoke without fire surely. Jett must be giving off some kind of superiority complex for the response to be so strong

100%.

Moto is a grassroots sport. Its not the NFL. When you have an "agent" essentially artificially acting as the athlete it does not go unnoticed. It's fake and extremely corny. All the riders that are super likeable are the ones that are accessible and real. They do interviews and actually talk about real shit. Roczen, AP, Etc

if he wins this wknd, he will absolutely milk "all the adversity of the past week and I'm just so strong and was able to push through and win!" and I'll punch my TV.

It's literally a who's who of the riders and industry...His team will probably keep him from seeing that too....to protect his fragile ego...

Wow this place is brutal. I remember when Carmichael moved up to the premier class- he was doubted, booed, and constantly kicked in the shins. How did that turn out? The dude went on a legendary run; humiliating all his comp in the process.

Yeah, I don’t disagree. Not sure what the dynamic is between Mirtl and Dazzy, and who has more control over these kind of decisions with Jett’s career.

Regardless of who's in the right/wrong handling the aftermath of the incident, it will be interesting to see how Jett holds up for the full 17 rounds if he couldn't keep it together being held up for 2 laps by a 4th-7th place guy. Especially if Webb gets back to form and starts playing mind games with him.

How you handle it depends on what you have between the ears.

Sort of like boot camp - it can make you or break you.

Could be a fork in the road.

Where's Bueller to tell us all to stop being so mean and hateful to the underprivileged poor kids that swam all the way from Australia, with a dirt bike on their back, all while fighting off sharks.

Yeah, pretty bad move by Jett's group to do everything but direct him to man up and actually settle things with a chat with Jason about the incident. Hell, do it via FaceTime if he's afraid of in-person talks.

Jett could easily diffuse all of this by doing two things. Speak to Jason personally and settle it and then put his head down and let his riding do all of his talking. Nothing worse than a cocky budding superstar who acts like he has already accomplished more than he has.

As a Aussie, it a bit shitty that Jett didn't apologise himself. Anderson is showing immaturity himself by telling everyone about it.

Jett crying, well some of us are more emotional than others when we don't get our own way, or get into it.

Jett also doesn't appear to be equipped with life skills yet, compared to most yougsters his age.

Also remember, most in the pits disliked any Non American rider when they arrived as a front runner, Bayle, Kenny, DV, .........

Anyway, I can't hardly wait for Saturday night.

You’re absolutely correct. People were calling him a punk…cocky…etc. Also, as someone-else mentioned, RC could get emotional at times.

Look, it’s way too easy for some of us to talk shit about the kid that’s come up thru the ranks and has absolutely kicked ass and now…appears to have shit the bed a little bit…but…damn…

How we let it evolve into all the other piling on isn’t a good look…for us.

And to reiterate, while it would’ve been better…it would’ve been over…if Jett had handled this on his own…well, that’s what Jason’s point really is…own your shit and move on. The Camp has made this much worse than it ever needed to be. That’s the other point that Jason made.

I agree with most of what you say except for the part about us not welcoming the greats from other countries. It was a small percentage of fans that acted like that. Yeah maybe I rooted for my homeboy Stanton to beat Bayle but I had HUGE respect for the dudes skill. I was a big DV fan and Kenny is a moto God imho. I think Jett is unbelievably good and will likely be the guy to beat for years to come but he has to get the head games figured out. If he doesn't find his inner zen some of these guys will rattle his cage every chance they get.
