I wish they would add two more colors for 2nd and 3rd.

I like them having a podium set would be even better!! Now if Feld would just pay more money out to the riders they are the show!!

Haha, I'll be honest, I have been tricked a couple times into thinking the bike was a Kawi from the green lights.

Call me reluctant to change, but I don't like the lights.

Since they are turning the lights on remotely, it's too bad they don't have a flexible led on the cross pad to light up if they are getting the blue flag. The green lights are coming up on you buddy, don't race them!

If you want colors to indicate placing, it is already well established that 1st is blue, 2nd is red, 3rd is yellow...

Most organizations that award ribbons for placing, use these colors.

I'd rather see them match the bike brand. It further helps i.d. at a glance.

I hope that something like that is in the works.  I have posted about something like that a few times over the years. And have been PMed by people that claimed to be working on a system like that. That I shared my ideas with. They did not want to say who they were, only that there was something being worked on.  Maybe the leader lights are a way to test out the communication system that turns them on and off.

A strip of say 5 or 6 LED's that could light up to also give a rough indication of the location for a downed rider. Colors  the same as the flags.

As You approach the yellow flag area they light up . At some point ad the ability for a red led to indicate left, right , center .  Could flash them if multiple riders are down. The faster the flash , the more riders to watch for.

Lapper lights that flash blue as the leader is coming up behind them.  Maybe at some point add a left or right to let the rider know which side they will be passed on.

Green to indicate all is good.

white for last lap.

Split colors Red and white for the wheels on the ground area's.

Even just the basic warning of a caution flag, lapper and red flagging would be a good start.

As a marketing thing, it would be good. Have an app on your phone to listen to the teams talk to the rider. As a racing thing, I'm against it. I think telling the rider the faster line, rider xyz is that section on the other side gaining .5 sec on you is just not right. I just don't like it from a racing perspective. I like the idea the rider is in charge of his own destiny by his own decisions. But that's just me. The bigger teams already have enough advantage, we don't need to give them that too because you know they have the resources to really dial that in.

A lot of good ideas there. I think if we do it in baby steps it's easier to get teams on board to add that technology. If we really care about safety, it's hard to argue against it. Trying to do it all in one big package and it will never pass. Look at all the push back just from the leader lights. And you can't even argue that it detracts from the core of the racing.

As far as the LED strip , yes . But I think it could be smaller and still work. Like 6 or 7 of the LED's  and nothing else. Not turning it into a full dash.

And they at some point work it into the goggles as a heads up display. Oakley had or has a Ski goggle with a small display .  A strip on the crossbar still though as the main warning system.

I was kidding man, sorry I had to.  I agree with the concept of adding some lights for safety but it will take awhile to implement.

I love the lights, but hear me out.  Tassles that pop out.  You know they have the technology.

I didn't think you were serious about throwing a steering wheel on there. But even the strip of LED's on that could be smaller and still work.

People have made the joke about handlebars becoming like an F1 steering wheel . But the strip of lights about half the size it is on that wheel , would work.  Have a single controller that is integrated into the transponder and powers the lights too.

If you listen to the post race interviews alot of guys had trouble with who was a leader at San Dieggo especially Tomac and Roczen, seems the top 3 leader light idea could have some merit to deal with that.

Did they scrap them already or was it a Daytona thing (not a Feld production)?
