Haven't been to SF since 1983. My son is almost done with a 2 year program and we haven't visited yet. This round was a good opportunity to visit. Dammit Jim. It's gonna be cold and wet. He's a 5 minute walk from the stadium. We are across the street. I hope we have a big TV in the room, LOL!Screen Shot 2024-01-11 at 9.05.59 PM

Well it’s supposed to be nice on Sunday Silly

I use the storm radar app and it changed as of about an hour ago and we might get lucky, it’s looking like the heavy rain might push to sunday!

I hope that is true, but all of the other weather sites I just checked still show rain all day on Saturday.  I am curious how they will adjust the schedule and when they will let fans know about any possible changes

Know it's not the norm, but the 06 SF mudder was an awesome race with RC and Stew,  Hope for the best.

Agreed and it was even better watching it from the heated press box. Laughing

Yeah the forecast just shifted heavily again in our favor...maybe no mudder now, just a greaser.

If we're lucky the storm will trend north of SF and the race will just see the outer rim of it.

Haha, didn't want to jump in as Mr. Know-It-All but my trusted forecasts have said rain all day Saturday since last week and there's even a coastal flood warning in effect.

If I hear the term “atmospheric river” one more time I’m going to lose my shit. MSM must’ve gotten a special on that term as they’ve been using the crap out of it. Anything for clicks and drama I guess.

They started using that term up here a couple years ago, sounds so dramatic. 🤦‍♂️

Laughing

My neighbor who is a farmer said they used to call them that in Texas. Its a very charming fraise

He also said that he was pretty sure, if they could get away with it, his fellow rural neighbors in Texas would have made mailbox posts out of chunks of the Columbia space shuttle which fell apart over Texas Blush

this could be the biggest sx mud race in years. Projected to be around an inch of rain, the last big mud race at east rutherford last year was only 0.4 inches. Going back to San diego 2019, that was only about 0.67

An option for it to not be a disaster is practice and qualifying 7AM-10AM and races 11AM-2PM.

With an atmospheric river, I wonder if they will reschedule? Didn't they do that at a round recently?

Last year Oakland got rescheduled.

This isnt a stick and ball sport. This is pro dirt bike racing. A sport full of tough mofo’s. Let it rain!

Only thing on two wheels that should be postponed due to rain is the TT/Macau. Otherwise the boys need to get after it.

That's right? Knew I wasn't imagining things.

Apparently the colluseum was flooded,  the drains backed up and there was literally turds floating.

i believe that situation was a little different. It was raining leading up to the race, so they couldnt even build the track
