Hello everyone, Did Tortelli did it at is fisrt race in the Coliseum? I think it was is first Ama supercross ever (Not even race the lite class before). Not really sure... Have nice day for all.

Tortelli won his second race in the 250 class. He raced one the year prior.

Edit: Typo

3 SMX races make him not an AMA SX rookie?

Well if 1 SX race as a 250 rider made Bradshaw and Grant not rookies..

There’s no point to this stat anymore and comparing Jett to MC is unfair. MC (and RC for that matter) experienced their first professional gate drops in the premier class at A1. That’s a true rookie. RD raced MXoN on an 450 and then straight to SX. Everyone out here pretending like this wasn’t Jett’s 33rd points paying gate drop on a 450 (not even counting the Paris SX). Jett’s a rookie like a 3rd year redshirt is a “freshman”. Not the same.

The list of riders that have won their first AMA 450 (250 2T) SX race:

Pierre Karsmakers.. but Fowler said they put an asterisk on that one

It's his first AMA sx season. Call it whatever you like. Everyone is so worried about him getting undue credit. He won his first 450 mx race. He won the first 450 mx series he raced. He won his first AMA sx race and, if I had to bet money, will win his first AMA sx series. He did not win his first SMX race so there's that lol. Feld is trying to market the shit out of the new 20yr old superstar. Shocker

Yes, but he wasn't you see.  He raced a 450SX the year before - meaning when he won in 2014 it wasn't his first race.

Therein lies the problem: what is a rookie?

Just say he won his debut 450 SX race, and he is the first to ever do that. No definitions needed. This is an objectively and verifiably correct statement

From now on, I think SX, MX and SMX should be considered like Soccer in Europe, in European Soccer, there's the Champions League for the best european teams, there is the country league for the best teams in each country and there's the country cup for almost every team in the country, in terms of prestige Champions League>County League> Country Club, every competition has their own rule book and their own stats book, in AMA Racing, Feld wants it to be SMX (The Champions League), SX (The country league) and MX (The county cup) Jett aint a 450 rookie in AMA Racing, but he is a Rookie in Supercoss because he never raced before in the 450 class, yes, he's the defending 450 MX and SMX champ but he never raced SX before, therefore he's a rookie, Is it that hard to understand?

He's only about 125 wins, roughly, off of the GOAT.

1988 15 year old Damon Bradshaw wins his debut 250cc race at round 12 The Toronto Supercross.

Sorry Jett, I love ya and all but I was there. Damon gapped Ross Pederson for the win and the crowd went nuts.

Bradshaw won his second 250 SX race ever in 1990.

He finished 3rd the fisrt time he rode the 250cc category (1989).

We are talking about AMA Supercross Championship. And nothing else.

How Jett can be a rookie when it's the second year of the Supermotocross world championship. I don't get it. I m probably too dumb.

I get it but it's called Supermotocross world championship not AMA SX championship. Whatever, Jett has raised the bar very high. His riding is perfection.

There are now 3 Championships to battle for:

AMA SX - Chase #1

AMA MX - Jett #1

SMX - Jett #1

Jett has pieced together the greatest Rookie debut in the premier class ever, from his Motocross of Nations debut to the Perfect 450 MX season to him winning the WSX title to now putting on a clinic and winning Anaheim 1 against what's been called the most stacked and competitive field ever.    I really hope Jett isn't one of those flames that burn twice as bright, burn half as long types of athletes, because what he's doing in incredible to watch.  Just looking forward to see who's going to step up their game to beat him for championships.  Best part is he's doing it all on a Honda
