Craig's secret gear

I don't think it's awful, in fact I kind of like it, but I'm coming at it primarily as being a cyclist these days. Maybe there is a comfort and/or movement component to it that lends itself to that type of gear becoming standard at the elite level, for guys racing Supercross.  But it's not going to be standard wear for the average C class rider or a guy riding in the woods.

In pro cycling, we've seen now the "race suit" which is basically a one piece skin suit with pockets has taken over, for aero reasons. The traditional bib shorts and jersey is maybe only used by a few guys on the hottest days in the mountains so they can maximize cooling. Otherwise aerodynamics is king. I'm not saying Fox is doing this for aero, but I can see a similar situation where gear for an elite SX rider or TdF cyclist is not the same as gear for a recreational rider/racer for performance reasons.

For us punters, tightening knee braces during the day becomes a bigger chore.

Not to bad if you are in shape but this is the average Vitard when they wear it.

Another angle, for better or worse. I feel like I'm seeing too much of CC.

I will wear Levi's and a flannel before I wear a spandex bodysuit.

I think it looks pretty silly, but if a few guys wore it for a few seasons we wouldn’t even look at it twice I bet. Just another piece of gear. Kinda like when a new body style of pickup gets released it looks like shit for a year or two then starts growing on everybody.

I bet it is comfy as hell though. Way better feeling than a tucked in jersey cinched down tight pants.

Moving away from Power Ranger Craig a minute.

The Husky graphics, and even the plastics to a lesser extent, look fairly off white, with a grey or almost a blue tint? Not like the OE '24/'25 grey either.

Is this just a lighting / camera / my phone setting thing or is that how it is?

Anyway back on topic, the front is weeeird.

I've been wondering why this has not been done before.  With the new flexy materials it makes more sense to do a one piece . Snowmobile,Go karts,Street bike, Automotive racers have had single piece driving/riding suits for years now.

A single piece suit helps with  some issues like pants getting pulled down and jersey's coming untucked . Might be better at keeping sand from getting into Your gear, or could be worse.

From a designers point of view, it would open up some more design possibilities without needing the rider to line up the jersey and pant prints when They put them on. I do not have any specific design ideas. But I think it would be a cool option.

Might just be another phase like over the boot gear, baggy gear, Neon, colored tires, etc.  I think its a cool concept, but I've been looking into making some stuff like this recently so I am biased about it being cool since its been an idea of mine. Too many ideas and not enough time.

JA21 does not like this post.

Wow that Looks stupid. Bad enough the riders wear the under the jersey chest protector. It makes them look like a dead guy or a 91 500 gp lame o jerk with his elbows at his hips.

If I was fast enough like these pros I’d wear my chest protector under my Fox onesie.

Like father, like son. Wasn't Mike Craig famous for having a huge dong? I remember some stories from Pulpmx about Mike in the 90's including his member and a Gatorade bottle.

The only drawback for me would be if you rip a hole in it, you now have to replace the whole thing instead of just a jersey or pants. As a professional ground magnet, I cannot afford this 😂

Looks better than what I imagined. It just looks like he's wearing a black jersey and black pants. They just don't happen to separate from each other.

Neat

I come from the trials world and there the one piece is a staple in world competition. The reason is because it restricts movement less and you never hit a “snag” while waiving your legs for balance or moving all the way to the back or the front of the bike.

That being said, it never caught on with US Trials and the pros here would sometimes wear one as a joke.  It does have its function for trials riding… moto I’m not so sure.  For moto I like to have as much protection as possible and this seems like the opposite?

I'd sooner dust off my LBZ baggies over a onesie, but different strokes.

Is there a hidden zipper for when you need to take a piss or does that thing come with absorbent fanny pads?

Man I wouldn’t feel confortable showing up to the track in a one-piece like this. I know you’re not showing anymore skin than with the normal pants ans jersey set-up, but I would feel naked and vulnerable 😂. It seems like the material is so fragile, it would take nothing to tear it and end up butt naked in the middle of the track.

I understand the utility of the concept, so maybe like a pair of pants that stay in place with shoulder strap like overalls instead of a buckle and that you then put a jersey over it would still be as effective but look a little better? Maybe not, but  I just can’t picture myself wearing this at the track, at least for now!

You go commando under your riding gear?
