Mrs Santa got this for me on Christmas. Very sneaky she is. Has heard me talk about how bad I hate my 4stroke (18/350sx) for 10 months since I got it and one broken ankle and did something about it. Gotta love a moto wife. First ride was this weekend, most fun I have had in 20 years. Not saying 4T are bad bikes quite the contrary actually, don’t want to start another one of those, it just was not for me. I ride for fun not competitive and this was pure unadulterated joy!

Whenever I hear these stories about a wife buying a husband a new bike- I think bullshit. No way a wife overhears a husband saying he doesn’t like 4S so goes buys him 2S…Like she negotiated with the dealer? Paid full price?

Haha, Yup Mrs. Santa must be very shrewd but I have seen it happen one time--so it is possible.
Was at birthday party at night and suddenly there was engine noise and a headlight coming out of the garage.
His wife had brought him a brand new KTM520EXC--big upgrade from his XR 600!
His Best Friend and friend to all of a us Mark Anderson (RIP) helped her.

I am also really fortunate to have a tolerant supportive wife as well, and she was all in on my getting a 300SX for Christmas too! I have ridden it a couple times now and REALLY glad that I was able to get the new TBI 2-strokes! (Heck she jokes all the time she wishes someone made a “race gas & pre-mix” candle too!)

I have two thumpers and two 2-strokes and for reasons I cannot adequately articulate…and after more than 40 years of riding moto (competitively and for fun!) there is just “something” about the feel, the sound & the smell of the venerable ol’ smoker that seems to operate more like a “Time Machine” than a dirt bike and it instantly transports me to another chapter in my life where suddenly I’m my silly 17 year old-self zooming around on my 1983 YZ125 imagining what it must be like to bang bars with all the heroes of my youth…Marty Smith, Bob Hannah, Broc Glover, Danny Laporte etc etc etc
And ISNT that why we ride in the first place!!? 😎 👍❗️

Like you, I used to have my doubts also. To my surprise it does happen.
My wife surprised me with a C8 Xmas 2020. My wife even blew me out of the water with how she (Negotiated) purchased it.

Took my neighbor who is also my riding partner which is where is was hidden. 6k out the door on consignment 1.3 hours on the meter.
Stolt it. CopperSmith does a great fork feel with one leg Ohlins spring cartridge. The air side is low pressure tuned for anti-bottoming. So much bite in flat turns.

My wife surprised me a few years back with KTM 300XCW that I have put a dual sport kit on it to be able to ride to the mountains.She had my brotgher help with the surprise. She attends all the ride days and races, she loves gouing to the track.
We all need wives like that.
