I am sure Suzuki's are "good enough", but the fact is the company takes from the consumers of the sport and does nothing to reinvest in the sport. Without Pipes and BarX there is no AMA team, and there is no other race team effort to speak of here or internationally. They have no team even in the Japanese nationals, do they? Beta has a bigger presence in Pro races. Add to that Suzuki's complacency in improving the bikes themselves. When you spend money on a Suzuki none of that money comes back to the sport. If all the manufacturers had Suzuki's attitude where would pro racing of any kind be? Suzuki purchaser's need to think about that before buying. The company genuinely stated the reason for pulling out of MotoGP before their contract was up that they were focusing on products other than bikes. If it is just about price of the Suzuki then we should all ride Koves, SSRs, and GPXs. We should be loyal to the makers that help support our sport.
I mean there’s an ass for every seat. Some people drive Hyundai’s one could say they get you from point a to point b just as good as a Lincoln Navigator but one has more options, rides better exct. Suzuki at this point is the Hyundai and KTM is the Lincoln/Cadillac of the sport. To Some people the 12k on a bike is nothing and some would only ride if they could get a bike for 5k ones not right or wrong. Every person has different needs one guy says “why would you pay that much for a bike when you could get this one for half the price” while the other guy says “why would you buy this outdated bike when you can buy one with the latest and greatest tech and features”. It’s all relevant to each persons needs and budgets.
1.)Really bad analogy.
Hyundai makes great/solid/reliable cars these days. GM/Ford = "American" junk.
2.) That "outdated" Suzuki is winning at the pinnacle of the sport piloted by KR. Average, everyday people on Suzuki's can beat other average everyday people on KTMs. That's called skill and money doesn't buy that.

Well you can take your Suzuki and put it on the back of your Hyundai and go rip. I never said a ktm would beat a suzuki on the track based on the bikes performance. It still doesn’t change the fact that a suzuki is a value brand and KTM is a premium brand just like Hyundai is a value brand and Lincoln and Cadillac is premium brand. Nothing wrong with either. But you can’t argue the fact that suzuki is a value brand at this point. Never said it was a piece of shit or inferior. It just haven’t had any real R&D since 08 on the engine side and 2017 for the chassis.
Harley makes a more expensive bike than KTM, and it's a pos compared to the rmz.

Unlike a YZF cam picking up oil from a bath, the KTM cam receives oil via a tiny hole. Small particulates can clog. Best sell after two seasons, as they are saving weight in the engine castings. If you ain't so fast...maybe things will last longer

A lot of high hour 350 and 450 KTMs out there with very little done to them.
I don't get why so many go crazy for the Austrian bikes. I race off road and out of all the people I see broke down I don't think I have ever seen a Jap bike. I'm not saying they don't break but you rarely see them dead on the track. My friend just sold his gas gas 250F after having a bunch of problems with and after watching me put a bunch of trouble free hours on my honda he went and bought a KTM. LOL

99% of people would go just as fast on a well tuned bike 20 years older. Where do you draw the line on what someone else "should buy" because it's less expensive? Some of you guys are all up into freedom, but think you should call the shots in other peoples' lives about what something is worth to that other person. What a load of crap.

Hmm. Ktm made a lot of design decisions inside that motor that impressed me, but I guess the 3 350s I have owned with over 300 hours must have been a fluke.
