You could sell the truck, and get an undesirable year El Camino cheap. Then you'll have a bed low enough to practically use, and enough money for another dirtbike. Why the hell doesn't anyone make something more like the El Camino anymore? Not to be a dick, but I just don't understand the jacked up truck thing, unless it's a toy that gets trailered to the fun spot. Minivans are milf magnets, especially with a dirtbike on the back.

I am still poking around at this..  I have learned a lot about the 3 companies that build these the past couple of days.  Loaded question, has anybody ever seen Switch Haulers on sale at any point?  I know they do not have a FB Page to follow to wait for ads, and I have subscribed to their email list, but have no idea if they ever do go on sale.  Their products look beautiful, just a little out of reach.

Thanks!

I ordered the moto jack rack a few years ago with the intention to start riding again, got busy and never even opened it (after waiting forever to receive it), finally decided to open it and try to get the bike running, and found it sits way too low for my vehicle (Mazda CX5, and to be fair, I was warned about this by someone else but the pictures I saw looked like it had plenty of ground clearance) tires were less than a foot from the ground, so the bike will drag if you hit a decent dip. I also really did not like how loose it felt on it, maybe I just don't know how to properly tie one down to it.

I'll sell it cheap if anyone wants one already assembled!

I got a cheesy aluminum one from Amazon even though it had good reviews goes to show you can't trust those jackoffs.🙄

Fortunately I saved the packaging because I was able to send it back,  then I got this sturdy steel one which I figure is good if I get an Adventure bike down the road.

I believe it's good for around 400 pounds and has a Steel ramp. I have an aluminum one I use.

I also use it for my Turbo Levo, it might be overkill, but oh well I don't feel like buying anything else.

discountramps.com lists this as well.  I believe this is the ramp 2 of my friends use.  One has a 1 bike ramp, the other a 2 bike ramp.  The 2 bike ramp works well, but does flex a bit.

They also complain about where the bolts are located where it connects to the hitch.

Overall, both are happy with them.

That's the same double I had.  I was able to countersink a shallow hole in my hitch that the middle one went into that kept it from wanting to walk and big time helped it be a lot more sturdy.

Moto jack for 20yrs and no issues still on the same bottle jack it came with. I’m guessing I haven’t had issues with the bottle jack because I store it upright.

Not a big fan of all the hardware on this thing especially where the majority of the weight is carried.
Forget the name of the other company that used to make these but I remember them breaking right there . Store down in OC used to have a bike on display that broke off it still had the plate under the bike but came detached from the rest of the hitch

This one?  The name Ultimate Hitch Hauler rings a bell, but not 100% on it.
That was some dude on the Proride message board around 2003.  His RM250 fell off on the 91 Freeway at about 65 mph. One of the lever companies had it on display for a couple of years ASV or ARC?
The levers were still intact. 😃

I’ve used the rail type hauler a few times and never had a problem, never tried peg mount type ones though 🤷‍♂️

You could get a drop hitch adapter and flip it over to get more clearance.

I am using the Harbor Freight rail, works fine no complaints. I do run a tie down from the frame to the bumper to stop swaying.

I’d like a hitch mount with a swivel for those times that I can’t fit everybody’s bike in the moto van.

When I 1st put it on my lower CRV yes it is lower but unless your going to wheelie the vehicle it will be fine with the lower clearance.

It drug in the test run I did that was nowhere near as steep as my driveway. Already committed to selling it to SonofThor, and happy with a trailer with a toolbox!

That is the one I returned that I got online did not care for the fact it had one place to anchor a tie down and it was in the middle of the bike!😲.

It was also a Flexi-flyer.

Much more happy with the steel one although it is a lot heavier to move around.  Fortunately I have multiple vehicles and just keep it on the Van full-time or the RV when I'm using that.

Yes that is the one I have now although I got it online.

Where did you get the cool reflector tape? I did not get that.

I also use the anti rattle device that goes on the male end of the receiver really helps it from rattling up-and-down and keeps it tight.

Tape was on there from the store. I do use anti rattle and a 2 inch rise. Never drags and I can open van doors some. I did add safety chains would much rather drag the bike than drop it in front of another car.

Sweet shot looking good. I did add 7 inch grip tape to my rails per some guy on Youtube works very well.

I did a 2000 mile round trip with one of those back in September.  Hauled my 1974 Ossa Phantom on the back of a Ford Escape Hybrid.  Got 35 MPG running 75 to Texas and back.

I've done several 1,000 mile plus trips with it.  As long as the anti-sway bolt is tight you'll never know the bike is back there.

IMG 8258 1Yeah the amount time & money you put into a bike. I think it’s a little risky.  I rain x all my lights & still almost get rear ended. In the g20 van the spare on the rear door almost covers the tail light.  For a 3 day event there’s really not enough room for stuff.  Enclosed trl these vans hv a hard time pulling 4 th gear. Even with billet alum under drive pulley kit, hotter coil, bigger plug wires, tbi torque spacer, cat delete, kn, open turbo muffler.  Aprox 18 mpg with 400 lbs on board. See the burnout it’s the length of the warehouse. You get it lded up & the power really drops. Only 105k miles.

Has anyone gotten a gas can carrier option with one of these carriers? Did it work ok?

I did but wasn’t a fan but I’ve got a 3.2 gallon tank on my bike and don’t go to the track that much anymore. If I’m doing weekend trips it’s to the desert so I’m taking the motorhome and trailer to haul everything.

I don’t think anyone makes 1.  At least I,ve never seen 1.  A lot of home made stuff tho. I would be interested in one myself. I spilled a gal of water all ovr inside the trk this morning, a lot of clean up. Fuel would be horrible.
