I think when Honda releases their E-bike, the shrieking and moaning will diminish pretty rapidly. The Stark not only threatens their loyalty a type of motor, it threatens their loyalty to their favorite brands as well.
Myself, I have neither. I like them ALL.
This is a good point that not a lot of people have brought up. Think about all the local scene dads who are doing everything to get their kid that small advantage. If their kid is getting absolutely smoked by some Stark Vargs on the regular, I'd bet I can guess what bike they're going to look at next.
Well you guys lost all your firearm rights a long time ago. Australia has a habit of doing whatever the government wants. We do not.

The only place that time is made up is every straight away, not corners. Its purely because he was on 80HP setting that he got near his fast lap.
And this is exactly why the arguments people are making about how much better and dominant these are, and how the other OEMs are running scared, are moronic. No doubt the other OEMs will be making them as well at some point sooner than later, and no doubt, they (or the AMA) will NOT be blindly mixing classes to humor the eco-nazis who want to do away with ICE bikes and declaring it a victory because they are 'better'. There will be classes... I do not know why some can't grasp that. Nobody has ever claimed they do not have a shit-ton of HP, nobody has ever called one a POS, they do have a boatload of power, and clearly handle well enough. Anytime you throw 35% more HP at a bike that handles remotely well, is a clear advantage.. In a sport that has ALWAYS been broken up by classes.
Even in offroad electric RC racing, there is classes for skill level, but there is also classes for motor size, for obvious reasons. If the course stays true for these bikes, the only class they will have for e-bikes, is the open class. Endless power, and the ability (if not now) to manipulate HP at will.
And to the point of this 'world takeover' some envision and ICE bikes are only for dying dinosaurs, I offer one little fact.. We have more 2T bikes in production now than we have in a couple decades, your dreams for the demise of ICE bikes are not looking promising for the anytime future. When Husky makes an e-bike, I will definitely buy one, I bet it will be a blast and help my aging and problematic hands. But it will never be a Stark, partially because of the string-pulling trolls on Vital, and also because I do not like the stance of Stark as a company, I am not at all convinced they are not the next Alta, and more politicized. Sell me a bike because it is badass and above the rest, not because it is constructed with eco-friendly and edible products. I am still baffled they mention carbon footprint... for an electric bike. That is an insult to anybody with a single braincell.
He said he did not spend much time in the 80HP setting, and that he was in mode 4 ( 60HP) for the 3 lap battle. Mode 5 was the 80HP setting.
I wonder which setting he would be fastest in. If he would be faster in the higher HP setting, or if it might make him ride more carefully and slow the time down?
Amart has obviously been co-opted by the illuminati ... he is not to be trusted .
Exactly. Only a moron would thing the OEMs are running scared. They have far too much internal knowledge of the industry and way too much expertise at meeting their customer's wishes to care about some company that comes out of nowhere and gets 20,000 orders for a bike they can't seem to find a way to beat head-to-head with their existing ICE product line. I mean - duh.
I've heard from some (and they would know) that the Varg doesn't even have a steering stem, so it can't even turn, let alone corner well. And you're right - it's all about straightaway speed, which is why I just bought a 850cc big-bore kit for my 450. If that doesn't work - I'll stick a supercharger on it. And when I do, if one of those stupid Vargs comes anywhere near me - I'm gonna lap it in two laps.
And that Alex Martin guy? Oh sure, he grew up riding a national motocross track and has spun countless laps on every kind of ICE bike at a factory-level pace - but really - what the hell would he know? Game-changer my ass.
There is NO ONE on the planet past, present, or future that can man handle a 80HP dirtbike to its fullest potential. Too many crashes and overriding ability. Its just too much power to 1 wheel on such a light bike. Its just not rideable.
I dont understand your point. Faster lap times are faster lap times.
So is it unridable or is that the only reason he had a good lap time?
You seem to have contradicted yourself.
Homer, AMA Pro racing says they are STILL the superior race machine.......read the rulebook.
I can handle 105hp on dirt just fine and I'm a scrawny shit with a gimp arm.
I'm shooting for 200 - and I'm only going to hang on with my TEETH.
FFS.... the same old ridiculous argument. "ICE will always be available".
You currently have a push to ban the sale of new gas cars in the very near future. Short-sighted people cheering "gas is dead" have no idea what that means.
Range? Oh, just have faith...some magic "power cell" will be developed for your R2D2 bike.
Circle-jerking fools celebrating their own demise.
I haven’t ridden one but from what I’ve seen and read the stark actually handles much better due to chassis dynamics, so I’d bet a lot of that time comes from corner speed
I totally agree. Get rid of anything that could possible be a danger to the operator. We should not let anybody make decisions for themselves right?
So the biggest advantage is really its greatest weakness?
Pit Row
We'll be burning and mixing gas forever. I'm just sick of hearing the "EV is gonna take over" talk. Its not gonna happen soy boys.
"yEaH wElL, mY tEsLa iS fAsTeR tHaN yOuR tRuCk"... lol I fkn hope so..
My truck would be fast too if I went from a 355HP to 1000HP to match the output of the Tesla. Its the only selling point of that car. Same with these bikes, "well they can get you a holeshot every time", is the new sales pitch. A holeshot only gets you wins in the mini classes, just ask Alessi.
At Least You are being honest with Your hate and reasoning behind the dislike of anything electric. I'll give you that.
I do not see a world that ICE goes away in my lifetime, unless there is some magical developments in batteries. As amazing as Electric can be in certain vehicles, there are still many that will be useless powered by electric .
So many people ride dirtbikes 40 or less hours per year. Is a gas or electric version really going to impact the environment on any scale? There are so many other easier ways to make bigger impacts than going after motocross bikes and classic cars.
How about we let the free market decide before we start driving nails into the gas bikes coffin. Certainly less than 1000 out there in paying customers hands to get credible feedback.
If those batteries were quick change (15 seconds or less) and each bike came with a spare battery...things start to look different...imo.
Martin did his fast time on 60hp setting.
How does that work when you're out on a week long BDR where there are no plugins. or anything past 1 hour (optimistic) radius from your truck.
The battery tech isn't going to change enough to allow extended trips/range.
You have to be the biggest pussy on here.
We've talked about that bar mounted rear brake. I accept that a rider "can" get used to it but it HAD to be a distraction. I'd venture to say it cost him 1+ second a lap.
I'd also bet there's at least 10 lbs that can be removed from that machine (carbon cases, etc).
I also don't know why they can't fit a rheostat type clutch lever to modulate wot just like the ice bikes.
The closer they can make the e-bike "feel" to the gasser...the smoother the transition.
I love my old bikes...I mean adore...but my grandpa loved his horses and still drove the shit out of his cars. It's not the reaper...just the future.
I'm calling BS on the whole thing, there's obviously some AI shenanigan's going on. Everyone knows that a Pro Level expert would take weeks if not months to go faster on a different brand scooter
You fucker
Now I don't know if Alex played the results or was straight up.
I love me some Troll but...ya know...
Anyway...fuck you very much.
I can only solve one problem at a time pardner.
I plan on riding my XR600 til one of us dies.
A fully charged quick change second battery would get most guys through a weekend at chicken licks. Two 15 minute motos is probably doable.
I don't believe they are banned, they just aren't approved. All the rules are for engine sizes, these don't have engines
