If he was in 250s I’d say no. 450s yes
He’s a world champ racing a different “club.” Yes! He has earned the right to participate in opening ceremonies. Just don’t have him jump a triple in the dark. A wheelie down the start straight will suffice.
I'm all for him being included in opening ceremonies. He's earned the recognition. But...I'm hoping he doesn't stink the joint up. SX is a different beast and not prone to forgiveness. Depending on results...he may or may not appreciate the spotlight.
I guess we'll see.
MXGP World Champ doing a few races? Absolutely he should be mentioned and noted his accomplishment and that he is here trying it out. Absolutely awesome for the fans, awesome for the sport, and this gives him the respect with grace.

Reigning MXGP World Champion. One of the most interesting storylines at A1. Of course he should be included.
They should definitely mention the size of his balls during opening ceremonies
There’s no way in the world Feld’s letting that opportunity pass, but regardless he should be included.
He will be and should be but the place is gonna be going nuts for one rider and it isn’t him
Hell yes! World champ…
I voted No, but Maybe for round 1, then just top 10 like normal. If he's in top 10, then great!
There could be between 3 and 5 current world Champions lining up at A1 depending which coast Anstie and Deegan line up for.
1 x World MX Champ
2 x World Supermotocross Champions
2 x World Supercross champions.
Do you think Kenny will be introduced as the Current World Supercross champion during opening ceremonies?
I voted no as well...it could be a huge hype for an 12th place showing or worse. Seems odd to have him part of a SX opening ceremony when he won't be here past round 3. Many SX people that will attend won't have any clue who Prado is.
Absolutely he's the reigning MXGP champ, he deserves that respect. Plus it is just a cool story, I hope he does well.
No chance Feld recognizes that series whatsoever.
I chuckled including world supercross. That would be like including Paris sx. The prestige of mxgp title isn’t in the same ball park with wsx.
If he is in the top 10 in points after the first race than yes otherwise no. He should not be treated any different than any other rider.
The question isn’t if he should be in opening ceremonies…obviously he should and will be. Feld wants those world fans! The question is if the 3 races go really well then how many Euro GasGas and MXGP people will it take to drag him on a plane back to Europe?? When you listen to him…once he checked the MXGP Champ box….he really wants to be here doing SX. If he were to do really really really well…I wonder if there is an out, with a huge penalty, in his contract for MXGP?
There's one World Champ lining up for A1 and it's Prado
Pit Row
and if they use centimeters and grams, it will be much more impressive.
I mean Ken is the 2011 world champ so…
Accurate
I'm confused about what Anstie would have to do with that.
Deegan will be racing West, he'll be at A1.
If they introduce Kenny Anstie or Mcelrath as World Champions they might as well introduce Savatgy as 2011 125 Junior World Champion
Ken is a world champion, he worked Herlings
Jorge is the MXGP World Champion. Back in the day it was the most prestigious MX champonship there was. Hell yeah he should be in opening ceremonies.
Do you think Feld will actually recognize MXGP on the broadcast while he's here? Do you think they're just gonna call him a "world champion?" That could get confusing now with SMX being a "world championship" as well.
Ken is a three time world champ at this point!
Right. I meant to say World Supercross Champions. Ken is also a world team champion 2012
That was my tweet. I think it’s somewhat controversial as he’s never raced a SX before and opening ceremonies is normally for Top 10 in points or past champions etc. but I think the point of the Opening Ceremonies is to build hype for the event and I certainly think there is value in showcasing the fact that the reigning World MX champion is taking important time out of preparation for his title defence to try his hand at SX. It’s a cool story that is good for the sport and the series
Feld does recognize MXGP, In fact, during the Charlotte broadcast I remember they showed fotage of the 2016 MXGP of America held at Charlotte Motor Speedway, they showed Coop vs Herlings.
According to Lewis Philips, the relationship between Feld, Infront and MX Sports is stronger than ever, Vialle has been refered as a "2 Time MX2 World Champ" few times this year
