It’s definitely a tough one, but fun. If he enjoys that he is definitely a fighter. When he gets healthy, we will have to do a group hike up C2C to celebrate for him!

I was able to visit Michael this past week. He is currently in a long term hospital in Ontario. He will stay there for a couple weeks and eventually will be moved to an assisted living location. 

His condition remains the same. As of now he is able to move his eyes and his right hand. Unfortunately he does not recognize people and is unresponsive as of now. It may take up to a year to see real progress according Doctors. 

I met his mom Beth, she is a strong women that has high hopes that he recovers. She is there with her son everyday. If anyone missed the go fund me I’ll repost it. It’s a long journey ahead and anything helps the family. Michael was the provider to his mother and brother, so any help is much appreciated.

This has been gut wrenching from the very beginning. Can’t even begin to imagine what his Mom is going thru let alone Michael as well as his brother. This family needs all the prayers we can all give plus some. I really hope they can see some progress soon to take some of the heavy load off them. Some light at the end of the tunnel. 

Hats off to you Sir for being a real friend to him. Speaks volumes about you, a rarity it seems these days. 

Didn't know there was a long term hospital in Ontario. I've heard great things about Casa Colina in Pomona. Thank you for the updates.

His mom is now set up to be the beneficiary of the funds. Co workers and I will also be planning a possible food fundraiser in the future. We won’t forget about Michael while he’s recovering.

Your a good friend - I've been thru this with a close friend. Michael will be getting good care but for sure but his family is going to need lots of support.....now and going forward.

Sending them home made or prepared food so they an eat before and after Hospital visits is truly invaluable.....good idea.

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted any updates on Michael. Everything remained the same until recently.

“Michael is back at RUHS in ICU because they think his shunt is not working properly.  Tomorrow (2/2/24) is Michael's birthday and I would appreciate any birthday wishes that I could read to him.  I would also appreciate it if you could pass this information along.  Thanks”

“He's had a few complications and we think that has hindered him from gaining neurologically. So hopefully getting his shunt working properly will help him.”
