The only people I've heard wanting it BRG is Americans 😂 Not saying that's good, bad or indifferent so nobody needs to get offended, just interesting to me. I've literally heard "I'm glad they didn't make it green" from people here in the UK...

Either way, someone will make green plastics with how many people are bringing it up in this thread... Let's hope they do a revised stadium plate for the front too, that bit is a bit weird.

For real? That is a surprise to me...Black is that well received by Brits? Mine will definitely get BRG!!

Maybe if you guys all click your red high-heeled shoes together and say, "There's no ride like ICE, there's no ride like Ice, there's no ride like ICE," when you say those kinds of things, it might actually become true.

Meanwhile, in what can only be described as completely irrelevant propagandist drivel, Alex Martin has a new video where he states that, after only 30 minutes on the Varg, he was several seconds faster per lap than he was on his GasGas 350. I mean, even if what that bought-and-paid-for idiotic Stark shill said wasn't a complete lie (I'm sure it was), there's no need to worry - this gorgeous new Triumph is so revolutionary and completely unlike anything ever built the Varg won't stand a chance against it.

Thank God.

Its awesome to see another bike coming to market. Even if EV finds the momentum, Triumph will have a new established customer base that will be excited to try it if this bike performs and there part support and other programs work. I think a lot of people need to look at the little kids racing at there local tracks. The only time the E bike goes out is to race the E bike class in moto or if that kid only has an E bike as an option. They also could have what KTM has, the ability to serve both markets and not just one. I think everyone needs to just be excited that we continue to get options and lots of them. Let the best bike win.

Not about a green movement. It's about why enter a mature market that is declining vs an emerging market that only has upside potential? Then, they only have to break away Stark's potential customers (which there's a long waiting list). Honda's too big to do anything fast so you can beat them to the gate. It's not that I don't like that they developed a new ICE bike, I just don't understand why. It's a business question not a preference question.

Yeah.... the welds on my Triumph Tiger 900 RP aren't very pretty either.   ...but the frame has taken a beating in the 3.5 years I've had it with no issues.

Okay okay, but that's the thing, isn't it? If Triumph really understood (and thus could accurately forecast) the almost primal interest we moto-heads had in this bike when we heard it was going to become a reality, they would have given it British Racing Green plastics with gold rims and gold graphics, because it's been so damn obvious to all of us that it SHOULD come that way. And if it did come that way, we'd all be swooning over the thing right now instead of going "umm, yeah, I kinda like it" and Triumph's ability to potentially lure some of us away from whatever brand(s) we've been loyal to up until now would have been legit.

Instead, it comes in black and white. To me, it begs the question: did they even bother to go to a track and look around? Because any of us anywhere could take whatever bike we own and make it black with a white rear fender - and maybe one in twenty-thousand does - and that person's bike has a stubby fenders and Metal Mullisha graphics on it's side plates instead of numbers.

So -

What.

The.

F?

Triumph.

It ain't rocket science.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think anything is better than the British racing green idea. Why take a brand new motorcycle and make it look dated.

Once again....taking the Tiger RP example.

Nothing about this looks dated.  White frame, dark green, some gold accent.

....then take Ivan Cervantes race modded 900 RP.....  An ADV bike that looks pretty damn racy.    In fact, looks racier than  the new MX offering IMO.

I'm usually a traditionalist, but I think they made the right choice with Black versus Green. They don't want it to be a stodgy 'old dudes' bike, and that's how Green would make it look.

Call me old or whatever but remember back in the 70's when there were all kinds of new bikes coming out ? Like the first time you saw an Elsinore or a Penton six days, they were exciting because they were new and trick, it was fun. Sorry but electric bikes don't really rekindle that excitement like this bike does.  Loud, Raspy, New, Trick. It's like a breath of fresh air. If I had the cheese I'd buy one just friggin cuz Lol

I wasnt optimistic it would ever exist either, but after seeing it in the flesh today , i am keen to have a 450 when they come out, provided the 250 isnt a dud.

And having the factory on the other side of town, it would be kind of cool.

So thankful Triumph chose "clapped-out Craigslist" black for their production color so I don't have to talk myself out of buying a new bike.

This is the same reaction I had too… initially, but Ive thought about it more since and changed my mind. Only in mx is black seen as a crappy “clapped out” “metal mulisha” color. When it comes to clothes, cars, sport bikes, bicycles, phones, electronics, furniture…etc black is one of the most popular colors. I drive a black 2014 focus st right now.

Theres no inherent reason that black is a shitty color for an mx bike, besides the fact it hasnt been done before and lots of beater bikes had black plastic. If you take the bike at face value with no preconceived notions or biases its a good looking bike. I think in time black will become just another color and not have the negative connotations associated with it and Triumph will build a legacy. The bike looks badass, its just our own previous experiences are clouding our opinions on it right now. Itll change.

Interesting take on colors outside of the mx industry; I honestly hadn't considered that aspect. I suppose according to this interpretation, Triumph is planning on selling primarily to riders new to the sport, rather than trading on the "heritage" value of their brand. I still have a hard time making sense of why Triumph wouldn't want to cash in on vet riders buying new garage accessories, and instead chose such a nondescript look for their bike, but no one is paying me to make marketing decisions.

Kawi's are green already.  I think the bike looks pretty good.  now they need to make a big bore 2 stroke version.

Excellent, and thanks for taking the time. I have no idea how hard that is to do, but could you mock one up where the green continues into the side panels and rear fender as well?

This is cool  -  It would be interesting to reverse the yellow and the green and yellow for the rear fender too.  Black the Triumph logo and name.

Kawi's are hideous green.   The green proposed for Triumph is worlds better looking.  Looks great with white contrast,  gold highlights and even a little neon yellow thrown in.

Not to mention, we have red Hondas and red GasGas.

Do we need more powerful and easier to ride bikes? I don’t think so. Do Moto GP and F1 need to go faster? Not really. The limits have been set to the power you can make with a 250 and 450. I think that’s enough for just about everyone. Seems to me that the majority has spoken on e-bikes, and the majority prefers ICE.

Dirt Bike mag (Dec)  had a Stark for a 2 day "impression" ride.    They found the bike worked best on the track in the 50hp setting.

80hp is overkill and will only cause more injuries.       Anyone can see that 60hp 450s are already too powerful.

Lets not get into the fact they had only enough battery charge to run practice and one moto.  Grinning

Let me see here, where to begin......?

So, according to you, we don't need easier bikes to ride. I'm curious, then - who is this "we" you speak of, and if what you say is true, why does the "they" that make up this "we" constantly try to improve their bikes in order to make them easier to ride?

Also according to you, F1 doesn't need to go any faster. Oh? Were you to tell that to every driver except Max Verstappen, I'm pretty sure you'd get a decidedly different opinion.

Lastly, I don't give a flying-rat-fart what the majority thinks and I never have. Majorities, time after time after time, have proven both fickle and gullible. I only care about what actually works. And regarding that, the argument in favor of e-bikes is only becoming more compelling. Witness, all the attempts at banning it from competing. Majorities love being protected from the upheaval of change, even if it means in-your-face demonstrations of corruption.
