it’s a moto bike discussion in the moto section.

why not have seperate forums for all bike types and size, maybe seperate forums for each brand of bike only? If you talk Tomacs bike in the moto forum and not in the Yamaha forum then you should go directly to jail.

moto is moto discussion. Whether it’s 2, 4, e or your smooth brained moto discussion.  It’s all valid in the moto section.

Would you have a problem if someone posted 'Looking to learn more about 2 strokes?' in the moto section?

IF there was a dedicated 2 stroke section it's very possible if the same poster constantly ignored it.

I have an even better idea: just change "Moto-Related" to "Most Vital" and let the popularity of any given thread decide whether or not it resides in that category.

The problem with doing this, of course, is that almost every popular thread right now involves some aspect of electric.

Exactly. I wish the moderators did their job and immediately moved all E crap to the forum it belongs in.

The range will improve.

For example, a 2013 Tesla Model S gets around 200-250 miles per charge.

The same Tesla Model S in 2023 gets around 320-400 miles per charge.

The aftermarket is also eventually going to catch up as it did with the Surrons/Talarias offering longer range batteries, different controllers etc.

For safety reasons, I really hope a sound module of some kind comes into the market. A few racers have said it’s a bit dangerous to not be able to hear the Stark around them on track (maybe a horn or something will become mandatory) but I can envision a company like Pro Circuit having a sound module and offer custom sounds for it (i.e: the sound of Ryan Villipoto’s 250f or the sound of James Stewart’s 125).

The motor characteristics could also coincide with whatever “bike” you choose to ride that day. Imagine one day you decide “I want the sound and feel of a two stroke today” load up a map and now you have a more “free feeling” engine like a two stroke with the sound to match.

Really excited and hopeful that even if/when they decide to eliminate ICE, we will still have a sport to watch and enjoy.

Yes there is an e-bike forum and this thread would fit nicely there . But bikes like the Varg and the Honda Trey Canard raced has brought the subject more front and center lately so there's going to be some bleed over . This is the forum that gets the most views obviously . Will it last ? Who knows ? If enough show interest you'll see more , it not it will take care of itself . There's an old school forum also but no one seems to mind a posts about 80s , 90s , or early 2000s (yes that can be considered old school) moto in this forum . There's an off road forum but there s also subject matter relating to off road racing here too .  I think some just feel threatened by the possibility of e-bikes becoming mainstream . It's all dirt bikes , it's all good .

Bottom line is you guys don’t decide jack shit about what stays in the Moto-related section, it’s Vital’s sandbox and we’re all just playing in it.  If you want to feel special and pretend that your opinion of what belongs here caries any more weight than mine you’re entitled to live in that alternate reality, but you’re bringing a lot of unnecessary disappointment on yourself.  If you want to have nothing but 2T vs 4T, Deegan/Jett, and US/Euro threads then have at it, I’ve had my fill of those topics so I’ll be an adult and just not click on them.

This thread and the content in it was meant for people who are interested in E-bikes and wanted to learn a little more about the realities of owning them, as well as some helpful tips on battery storage and some discussion about how they can feasibly be integrated into professional racing.  If you don’t have interest in those topics, then fuck off and don’t click on it, it’s actually a path of significantly less resistance and will save you time and frustration.  The thread isn’t misleading, you know exactly what you’re getting, but you can’t act like an adult and ignore a topic you aren’t interested in while simultaneously bumping the topic with every reply you make.  The “I don’t like it so you can’t have it” mentality is a disease, stay in your lane and let those of us interested in full sized electric motocross bikes have our discussion while you have yours.

I don’t think this thread had anything to do with wanting to learn about E-bikes.  I think it has to do with making a point and get under people’s skin, knowing moderators aren’t going to move the post.

By the way, this post didn’t get under my skin.  But not being posted in the E-bike section is pretty obvious the intent.

With a disrespectful attitude like that don't be surprised when the members here self police and torpedo every thread for you.  Wink

Your not a great ambassador for the brand or are you? From what I have seen you just may be.

I would say this thread is toast. The lust for battery powered vehicles is sickening. It’s an obsolete technology that will always be behind the 8 ball. LMK when the fuel cell units show up so we can have a legitimate discussion about the future.

Oh man, I can’t wait to add that to my LinkedIn what a career diversifier for an engineer haha.

Yeah, right, a major forum like Vital is NOT a media and you DON'T have an agenda.

You and me man

"Informations or ides that are spread by an organized group or government to influence people's opinions, especially by not giving all the facts or by secretly emphasizing only one way of looking at the facts"

By definition we need to be at least two, so how are we gonna call our secret organization to impose our views to the rest of the world?

Still waiting for an example where I was misleading people BTW. Was it when I was criticizing Stark delivery delays, lack of communication or maybe talking about real-life battery range ? Maybe when I was copying laptimes?

Man, I really hope you're on Anton's payroll.

If not, send a resume right away!

How often do E-bike guys get asked if someone would let them ride their bike? I always want to ask guys but don’t. I’m starting my build next week and wondering what I have to look forward to lol. I’m sure I’ll let and encourage my buddies to try it, but what do y’all say to random, but kinda know them, riders?
