That generation KX was so good looking... Even better when it was wide open with a big ol' 47 on the front and sides.

I'm having way too much fun on this 125. I'm neglecting my 4-strokes.

IMG 0227The amount of fun I had on these bikes as a kid was something special.  I eventually moved up to the bigger bike 125cc but my funnest times on dirt bikes were on these mini’s

That’s one of my favorite bikes of all time.  I was able to buy a used PC built KX125 from that era.  It was a 1997 purchased in 2001.  One of the best bikes I’ve ever ridden!

I've never been one for nickel/platinum pipes, but that looks right at home on that beauty.

I think the nuclear red, white and blue has that retro 90's US vibe perfectly and the platinum pipe somehow goes really well with it.

Clean and very nice dude, enjoy 👍

That’s clean! The 200 always intrigued me! How does the motor feel? It’s a 125 bottom end if I remember right? Just a different rod.

Thanks, I picked it up nearly NOS condition.

Power wise, I think it has 38hp peak stock. Torque is between 125 & 250. On the track, no short shifting, ride it like a 125. On the trail, ride more 250-ish.

What makes it 'bad arse' is the upgrades and STIC carb. It keeps my 22 yz250 parked as a backup. It has better power, front grip, just as stable, only not as planted(heavy). Guys that rode it stated that it is faster than their 98 kx250 and 22 fc350! Anyway, it does pull or hang with bigger bores. It prepared me well for my 24 300sx in the hot map mode and BTW the 300 doesn't make my forearms ache for 3 days...at my speed.

I thought they made the 200SX in 2003 and 2004?

i looked online but it’s hard to find any for sale. I saw they made the 200 XC until 2009.

is it easy to find parts for yours?

im wondering how was Broc Sellars 200 was

Correct, 03 & 04 years only. The 06 chassis, fork and later shock upgrades...game changer. Young guys hit me up for a sell...No chance.

No issue for parts. Different crank and rod from the 125. HotRods and ProX have make cranks and rods. BTW, the 200 range was discontinued in 2015 and the last two or so years were estart. '08 I think it switched over to the 250 chassis. So, older models have a lower seat height.

All it takes to get SX like power is the 125/150 CDI box and an SX style pipe and head specs.

I think they also built one for Brit James Dobb for the old US Open race in Las Vegas too.

Stock power is quite mellow compared to the mentioned STIC Super X carb. The mid hit moves down to a tick above idle. First thing I hear from test riders is 'Wow, wow, wow and You ride it like this?'.

Yes it was a cool flare, as Ricky was on the makita graphics under the main Suzuki tent with the classical yellow rims. But indeed Mr. Travis always had cool themes on his bikes.

Kinda similar to Larroco who also had a factory bike under the FC tent, different style outside what the Hondas own main tent.

Kudos to docwob for getting some these bikes built and helping organize this event I'm sure it was alot to get it all done. Would love to make the trip across the pond to come watch next year!
