I dont understand how the AMA was going to fine Reed $5000 and a one race suspension for slapping James' helmet, yet James himself admits going over looking for Chad to confront him and ends up pushing his bike over??........and the AMA doesnt do anything because its his first offense. Wasnt he warned in the past over the Preston and Tedesco incidents? How is this is first offense? Wouldnt that have been Reed's first offense? If so, why wasnt he just given a warning? I just dont get it.
It wasn't Reed's first offense because he grabbed Stewart by the neck last year...

Also, does anyone else remember years ago, when he was on a 250f, at Washougal Reed came together with someone (McCormick?) in the section at the top of Horsepower Hill and they both went down. As he ran back to his bike he took the liberty of slapping the other rider on the back of the helmet...

There is NO HATE coming from me , i can say that right off the bat. I do though however , feel that the color of James skin sometimes keeps him up on a pedestal with the AMA. I think deep down inside , some of the "higher-ups" start pacing back and forth , and then come to realize they better just leave things alone , instead of having to deal with any kind of a race heated issue. I think they are scared shitless of having some kind of a rebellion on their hands if they try and punish the "only" Black rider out there.

Again , i friggin' love to watch James ride/race a bike. But i can't see or even understand why the AMA would even try to go after Chad , before they would James? I don't think it has anything to do with one being an Aussie and one being an American. I think it has to do with something much more than that........

I hate to throw cold water on this one, but we all heard the same thing about RC a few years back.. Don't think color had anything to do with that one either.

Bottom line, It's tuff to slap the hands of the riders at the top of the show.

Past history would dictate that the AMA hasn't acted appropriately in some cases where they hand down qick penalties, without accurate facts. At least in the case of Reed's penalty, they were smart enough to go back and make the right call after some time to review.

If they feel James was riding in a dangerous fashion, they "the AMA" should deal with it. If not, so be it. At some point in time, the riders will take care of things on the track if the AMA doesn't handle things accordingly...

it's got nothing to do with the color of his skin but you guys saying that makes me think your hating is because the color of his skin. The reason he gets the special treatment is because he's the top(or was lol) rider in the sport. Period!! You guys all know throughout the history of are sport (and all sports for that matter) the top few guys have always gotten special treatment. It's a business and the business men that run sports aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot by suspending their top draw.

There's a lot of ignorance in this thread. One click so far, and I'll go back and look at a couple others. Some of you need to stop before you find yourselves in the same position. Personally? I don't think color has anything to do with their decision-making process.

From what I understand, this would have been Chad's third offense regarding in the AMA's eyes. That includes the neck grabbing incident at Jacksonville last year, and with an AMA official at Daytona in 2008 in a deal that scored barely a mention back then, but apparently cost him a point.

I don't know if the AMA lets things go after a certain amount of time (like James' contact with Preston at Toronto), but he has been pretty good otherwise. My guess is that he won't be crossing lanes in the air anytime soon...especially while in mid-pack.

Dan.....believe me when i say , i am the least racist guy you will ever meet. I don't care what the color of your skin is. The way i look at is , that the most reckless guy on the track gets away with everything he does , just happens to be Black. If he was white , purple , red , , yellow , checkered or any other color , i still think he should get some sort of a fine for his blatant disregard of other riders. I'm not just looking at what happened last night either , i'm also looking at the past shit he's done as well. I have never seen a rider get away with that much shit and then never even have an AMA official or "anyone" for that matter , come down on him with a warning of any type. I can't tell what fucking color he is with his helmet on.......I just know he rides like an asshole!

Did you guys see the commercials every 5 seconds advertising Supercross in a town near you? Who were the two riders they were hyping up in that commercial. JAMES STEWART AND CHAD REED!

They want both of those guys in the series no matter what. Its all hype and entertainment. Which would be my guess as to why Reed wasn't suspended and nothing is going to happen to Stewart. Anyone else would have been made an example of.

Ironic that name is.
I believe you are off on dominates though. Also, you left out the fact of taking out atleast 6 champion contenders over the years. Thus, back to your name. LOL

Laughing So true.

Except he moved over to avoid landing on Windham. IMO

He should have slowed a little before jumping the triple while being mid pack, but of coarse it is EASY for me to tell him how to ride.

If you guys really think that the color of his skin has ANYTHING to do with it then you should really think again!!!! It is ALL because of his status in the sport and the championship hunt. If Stewart was a mid-packer then all of this would be a different story, just like when RC got all his points back during the fuel issue in 06. It is an "ENTERTAINMENT" business, and the AMA and Feld know that if the "top draw" rider is penalized points or races over something that was NOT caught on camera then the average consumer of SX (read, NON rider) would spend those dollars on a FMX ticket or Monster Truck ticket.
You all know the reason that Reed was at first penalized is because LB likely threw a fit to the officials, once the tape was reviewed it was overturned.

As far as everyone else goes, it amazes me that when JS7 is smoking everyone then all is good, but when he is having some bad races then he is "over" and everyone wants him out. Like him or not, fan or not, if he were NOT there some of you would have nothing to talk about.
I do not think what happened in the pits was right, nor do I condone it. But, I think that when riders put in all the hard work and have a serious passion for what they do, tempers can get out of hand. This kind of stuff happens much more often than we ever hear about, but because it involved Stewart and Reed it is front page Motonews.
Your surely not comparing RCs fuel issue to Bubba riding like an idiot multiple times are you. Remember this is NOT an isolated issue. He's been doing it for years.

Shut the fuck up. Thats the dumbest shit I've ever heard. It's because he's the AMA's golden boy, not the color of his skin.

That commercial was made before people caught on how fast the learning curve was for RD and RV. One of which will be the 2010 SX champ.Whistling

as would reed.

judging by the show stewie put on after the wreck, he was in no condition to start throwing bows. even if it was with reed who had a broken hand.

that said he needs his ass kicked by someone over at kawasaki. that is about as disrespectful a thing to do, regardless if any parts were bent/broken.

i can guarangoddamntee if someone came over to my pit and kicked my bike over they would be dealt with personally, and not with a little chat either...

Dumbass.......he is treated that way because he brings in the crowds to watch the racing and when you're promoting like Feld and the AMA I doubt they really care too much about the details of James and Chad's feud....they can play it up to attract more people. Like it or not James is the biggest draw in the stadium regardless of what this board thinks and it is in the promoters best interest to have him there each and every weekend.

Im not taking sides in this but some of you guys get way too dramatic and start weaving in shit that was really insignificant to this incident to make your points against Stewart that much more grand....all I see is a bunch of GLEN BECK impersonators. Bringing up stuff james did years ago is irrelavent

RC GOT THE SAME TREATMENT FROM THE AMA WHEN HE WAS RACING!!!
