Crash was out of his control but man, this guy must have some early onset osteopenia or something. Get him some milk.
Yeah…but Stew is.
Not sure about that, beach races are full of ALL classes, anyone at any level can pretty much enter usually
It is very likely someone may fall in front of you and a really good possibillity that you will get run over/ hit if you fall
Just part of the risks of entering a beach race
I hope they are both ok
Pit has got to be SICK of this shit. Talent only goes so far............. Time for a new place to be someone else's gamble. The clock will only keep an athlete fresh, ready for battle, for so long..... As I stated earlier, name alone will land him a home for a bit. Dude seems as fragile as Bible paper......

A world championship with a move up rule that JH petitioned to stay in the class when he didn’t meet the criteria to stay in it any longer 😂
You people really think KTM should let herlings go? And pick up who in replacement? Yeah I’m sure ktm is bummed he’s hurt again, but he’s got 4 months to heal from a broken collarbone, they aren’t worried. Sucks for Jeffrey, but he’s not missing anything other than a couple weeks of testing, which he’s already proven this year that he doesn’t really need it to win.
JH84 can be both fast and made of glass. Both of those are not independent of each other.
One of the fastest to ever ride a dirt bike, much like Stewart... His whole body of work puts him around top 10 all time, in the mix with Geboers, Jobe and Dungey, etc, but not up with the Everts and Carmichael's of the moto world. JMHO
Different angle
Unlucky deal from a downed rider. Do we really need to shit on him in this thread? Isn't there 50 other MXGP vs AMA or Tomac vs Herlings threads for that?
Which doesn't change the fact that Herlings has the most GP wins, or that the MX2 class is a World Championship.
The only one's trying to discredit Herlings accomplishments are those who, in your words, are hurt by the truth. Unfortunately, I went down the rabbit hole which I regret since that was not what the thread was about.
Yep and SMX counts as a championship. Just because the record books say so doesn’t mean anything….JH can be the FMOTP on any given day, he’s a bad azz on a bike, but his 250 class win stacking was just a way of ducking the real competition. Any how, I degrees also and ducking out of this thread also
don't know how you can be labeled one of the greats but have less 450 titles than a rider like Gasjer who gets no credit.
Nobody can take his race wins away... And nobody can give him titles he hasn't won.
A remarkable talent, and this is just another of what his history has been. Proof that he is fragile. Fortunately, this one sounds minor and should be fully healed and we should get to see what he's got in the tank next year.
Whenever I see this kind of discrediting of JH#84 here in this forum... The victories that don't count, the titles that shouldn't count, that in Supercross I would be destroyed, that this and that, always comes to my mind the day when with a borrowed bike, on a track he didn't know, against opponents he had never competed with, he wiped his ass with all of them!! So suck it up, life goes on!
Funny thing is , he is not really a crasher like JS7 was . JS7 had loads of small crashes and loads of huge ones. Herlings doesn't crash that much .but he seems to get injured every time he hits the ground. I'd say Tim G has crashed 5 times more than herlings and barely ever gets injured.
Gajser is made of rubber…. I’m sure of it. Not that he never gets hurt, but it’s pretty rare.
We can work with speed

If there was ever a sponsor made in heaven for a rider...this is it.
I love that despite the risk of off season races, Herlings is a racer and seems to love this race. He is the best there ever has been in the sand and as a fan anytime Jeffery races I want to watch.
I don’t understand how gasjer doesn’t get any credit. He moved up to the big bikes quickly and won. Jeffrey is still damn good but it’s like everyone always just forgets how good gasjer actually is.
how do you break your collar bone in that soft sand?
Jeffrey Sterling
You dont`t need a lot of pressure to break the collar bone if the hit is "right", I`ve heard.
And sand isn`t that soft if you got speed. It`s like saying water is soft. Jump from 15 feet and land on your stomach, you`ll feel it😅
But this crash didn`t look that hard...
Looking at his injury list he has around 8-9 injuries just in the shoulder area. And that is only since he went pro. That's fucking insane. Hope he has a good recovery, this series needs him healthy (yeah I know).
With all the hate he is getting, he must be doing something right enough for people to care about it.
Think most people have not looked at the crash.
You are going like 40km/h to complete standstill. That's is not an easy crash and completely out of his control.
He should get credits for wanting to race more, of course with the risks we see but for us fans it is positive he wants to race. Specially off season.
Happens to all high profile, high paid athletes. Get all kind of opinions. Good, bad etc.
It might sound harsh, but in a way I think you're right. They aren't getting their return on investment like they should be. 5 titles total in an 11 year span. It doesn't sound terrible on paper, but in reality it is. Kid wins a title and gets hurt for 2 years nearly every time. There's got to be some type of calcium booster he can take to strengthen his glass bones.
Here's his track record:
Apparently he's always hurt with something, I didn't even know the list was this long..
An injury overview:
2010: dislocated shoulder
2012: traffic accident in Russia with head injury (MX2 CHAMP)
2013: scapula fracture (MX2 CHAMP)
2014: tibia fracture, then damaged shoulder and then femur fracture
2015: dislocated little finger, then broken collarbone and later a dislocated hip
2016: broken collarbone (MX2 CHAMP)
2017 : right hand fracture
2018: right collarbone fracture (MXGP CHAMP)
2019: broken ankle and foot
2020: C1, C6 and T3 fractures
2021: shoulder blade fracture (MXGP CHAMP)
2022: complex heel fracture
2023: August: C5 vertebral fracture and collarbone fracture, October: collarbone again

I do not understand the posts saying to drop him. The dude has won championships, that's all that matters. If they get 1 title from him followed by 3 years of injuries, it does not matter, he already accomplished the mission.
If you think teams should only hire riders that are in the hunt every single year, and win the majority of championships they enter, there is absolutely no rider that meets that criteria
