People forget just how good Cooper Webb was in the whoops on a 250! I believe Jett will hold his own in the whoops on a 450 but until he makes it through a complete SX season we will not know.

Jett was faster than Craig through the whoops. Im sure he will be just fine. if not better

As good as Jett is, in SX it will come down to whoever can stay on two wheels. The pace of the top 5 will be lightning fast and on the edge. Whoever can keep it upright will win the championship. Tomac was fastest last year and he didn't win the championship. Jett could be fastest this year but it doesn't always translate to winning championships. See Ryan Dungey for example.

Doubt it. Reed will just be salty that it looks like it won't be long until he can't claim most successful Australian dirtbike racer anymore.
I think this is where jett is even more dangerous. His style is hand crafted for durability and longevity. He almost never gets sketchy and never looks like he is pushing hard or riding the ragged edge, even when he is. His riding looks completely sustainable. How many times did Chase crash this year riding that pace?
Hes almost like a Dungey but instead of always getting podiums, he always wins. Jett too has killer consistency, its just that he finishes a few more spots forward of the other consistent guys.
His technique is so good, he won't have any problem
Cooper was not great in the whoops on 250. Christian Craig beat him at Glendale 2016 just based on Cooper's struggles in the whoops. Webb had him absolutely beat everywhere else on the track.

If he seems to be having trouble over the off season finding his speed through whoops, there's this guy by the name of Johnny O that could possibly help him out..... I've heard he seems to know a bit about racing dirt cycles.
I agree he's super solid and consistent, but I do think everyone is more susceptible to making mistakes and crashing in SX, even if it's not their own fault (lappers or mistakes from other riders). Jett will have a few guys pushing him hard all year, so anything can happen. He had a very close call at the Coliseum that could have resulted in broken bones like Barcia, so he's not totally immune to mistakes. The whoops change so often, and skimming them at their speed is super gnarly. We'll see who can stay up on two wheels all year long to win the championship. I say it's a coin toss between the top 6 guys and anyone can win - Jett, Tomac, Sexton, Kenny, Anderson, Webb. Hunter Lawrence is the wildcard.

The difference between barcia and jett in that scenario is jett keeps it on 2 wheels.

I think Jett was under pressure and didn't want to push harder into making a mistake, so he calculated his overall win and waived Kenny by. I think the way he did it should have resulted in a penalty as there was no gray area with him admitting it right after in the interview. I'm not opposed to letting someone by or purposely bunching up riders behind you, but you have to be smart about it so it's not so obvious. Just slow up a bit, make a small mistake, or look down at the bike.
So if not the waive, then do you think Ken might have passed?
I think he would have attempted a pass, but not sure if he would have executed it.

You got that backwards, for most part Tomac was the steadiest last year over the season and Chase was the fastest who crashed a lot and ended up winning the championship when Eli got injured.
I was going make the same comment, when he joined Craig at GEICO Honda. Craig teached him how to go through whoops and and then he get got faster than Craig in them and passed him in a bunch of races in them and afterwords Craig said he maybe shouldn't of teched lol
