I love AJ and his motocross training, and I respect the hustle he has, but it’s important not to think that, just because you excel in one thing, you will excel in another. Everything takes expertise and years to get the hang of. If he was scraping together funding, let his partner put up money, and did the announcement, that’s just not smart. I’m not telling people I bought a home until the mortgage and offer is at least approved, maybe even finalized.
Not sure what you think based on your post, but AJ seems to think that the premature announcement was his screwup.
A business-first person (scrupulous or not) would realize that fucking over their partner was the real screwup. Lost relationships, burned bridges, and bad PR are expensive currency. Then you have the nerve to blow it off and throw shade at the people that stood behind their commitments?
Make no mistake, the premature announcement was a bad decision, but just to the extent that it made all this public, which in the end may cost AJ much more than the amount of his share of the purchase of GPF. Karma is a bitch I guess.
Any updates?
Wouldn't the buyer get his money back minus fees (lawyers, appraisals, surveying fees, lost revenue etc)? Only a crazy person would sign a contract that wouldn't give him a majority of his money back. And only a real A hole would have the gall to keep it all without great cause.
This is my first time posting on vital. This thread brought he here. I've read the whole thread and can't figure out how or why the buyer wouldn't get most of his money back unless his lawyer was completely reckless. I can understand GPF keeping a deposit, but to keep the whole thing seems insane.

I can understand GPF keeping some money to cover their lawyer fees, surveyors, appraisals, banker fees and other expenses related to the sale. But to keep any money beyond that would be in poor taste. Even if it is spelled out in the contract that they can keep the whole thing, doesn't mean that they should. I hope you get some back. Sorry brother.
From what I know , the potential buyers went and did several thousand dollars in what could be considered damage by gutting the rec room and maybe a few other areas before actually closing .
So premature announcement and video as well as premature deconstruction and redecorating? Smart 🤦
Doesn't sound like it was the guy who lost his money who would have done that stuff.
AJ discussed it on his latest podcast (with his wife). He claimed no one lost money and no one was hurt in the process.
My understanding when we were there (last of july, which was the last week before lorettas. The sale would take place August 1st) was that the other half was still living in one of the cabins there. So why destroy it if you still live/train there and are going to own it. I was told the building (gym) would be torn down? It was a nice building so that was puzzling to me but hey, its not my money.
This is what other people that had been living there for a few months told me. Its gossip so take it for what its worth. Gym did no look destroyed to me, maybe sparse? But, it was our first time ever at a train facility so maybe i dont know what a high level gym looks like
And we all know how a narcissist works....
Par for the course.
My son made a comment he didn't like AJ a year or so ago, and wouldn't train with him if it was free. About 10 minutes into the video he made at GPF (that has been removed), I understood why.....But hey, we all are entitled to our own opinions.
GPF track looks sweet after I took a peek at it last week. May send the boy over there Saturday and let him ride it...
Gym wasn't being torn down. I was about to add a lean too off of it for more space and get all new equipment. Rec room was being changed to a 2 bedroom house.
Whatever Aj is saying on podcast he's lying. My bank account is still shy the money. Aj has also lost a trainer, cameraman cam, Jetts endorsement and Lucas Myrtle dropped him. He's a liar. He bullshit me for 10 months acting like he had all the money to buy the property on his own if he wanted but couldn't even come up with his portion of a deposit.
No updates I can speak about yet. I will post it all when the time is right along as my attorney says I'm OK to. It will blow your mind.
The instagram updates of the track are looking pretty damn good lately.
Thats why i said it was gossip. I know how stories grow as they go from one person to the next. Sorry,i kept the story growing.
Also sorry that you lost the money. We enjoyed our week down there!!
Even Cameraman Cam left? That is saying a lot!
Isnt there a big race there in oct or November? Hopefully the track updates are completed by then.
GPF the ones in poor taste? Lol
It's a shitshow all around. But if they don't give him his money back minus an itemized list of the fuckery, then yeah, It's on them too.
Pit Row
Looks like Moto Academy’s socials are still posting the same quality of videos. Not sure if Cam leaving is recent. Doesn’t seem they’ve made any official announcement which is weird as he seems like an important part/face of their online presence.
The thot pickens.
He was still making podcasts with AJ a week ago.
He gave 4 weeks notice. Probably down to 1 or 2 weeks by now.
Man I sure hope for you and your family when you’re able to tell your story , that it ends with you getting back what’s fair. I learned a long time ago you can know someone for years as a stand up person but when shit hits the fan their true colors show. A long time ago I took a chance and moved my family for a career opportunity with a company run by someone considered the best in the biz. I year after I was there the guy had a bonafide midlife crisis. Left his wife became a drug addict and destroyed the company . I took a pretty bad hit and was left in pretty scary spot, was screwed out of several months salary and had just spent everything I had saved on the down payment of my first home . I suffered for a bit and had to just cut my losses. Fortunately in short time things turned for me and I was able to move on . All I got from the ordeal were the vital lessons learned from the experience.
As of recently, he's used some of our content (race footage and practice footage from SMX my staff shot) on his social media. Using it to break down techniques, promote himself, etc.
Hit him up about it asking where to send invoices if he's going to keep using our content...he refuses to take it down and is still running with it.
That’s pretty unchill of AJ. I get he thinks he’s adding value and just sharing that value, but it’s not easy or free to get good shots showing the riders’ technique. You have to travel to the race, sweat it out in the sun all day, plan everything out, shot it properly, edit the video. And AJ knows this. I’m sure ML or other creators wouldn't charge him a ton to use it. It’s the thought and curtesy that matters.
The lack of asking or crediting us is what pissed me off. So I commented and he responded with a smartass remark, then deleted it and responded with a “contact my team” comment.
As mentioned in prior posts, Mirtl, Lawrences, and Wasserman have ceased working with AJ.
Fucking hell that's disappointing. I was ridding at the same track as him a month ago. I'm glad I didn't go shake his hamd
I was very early in the moto academy program and the teaching videos and feed back are great but this is disappointing.
I always want to give someone the benefit of the doubt - especially when I am relying entirely on secondhand or anecdotal information. Still....seems like the negative data points are adding up. Definitely seems like AJ is falling on his sword so to speak...
Yep, I’ve heard enough on this thread alone that I won’t be clicking on his YouTube vids anymore. Don’t want him getting even that 1 extra view.
