Having celebrities and music stars coming to events are cool I guess and add more exposure to the sport. Monster Energy is the title sponsor in supercross and has a big impact in the UFC as well.
With a newly crowned World Champion in UFC, that dirt bikes, lives in California, and is a Monster athlete, it would be fitting for him to make an appearance at the LA Memorial Colosseum final.
I hope industry dudes find this and let Sean Strickland rip a start or something for opening ceremonies. That'd be cool.
Here's a pic of him catching air, so you know he can rip.
We have already peaked.
makes you wonder who is this biggest celebrity to attend a supercross
I feel like I saw Ben Stiller in racer-x mag for anaheim 1
Man the 90's had it going on in this regard. You had Joey from friends rocking FOX, Vanilla Ice spinning motos, Brett Michaels showing off his track on CRIBS, and rumors of Ken Griffey getting in trouble for riding dirt bikes in the off-season.
The hardcore guys want the Celebes to stay in their lane but also complain about not growing the sport. I think any outside spotlight on our sport is great.

Moto people have kind of weird hang up about pure spectators. That is, they don’t like people who don’t ride or have any interest in buying a dirt bike being around the sport. No other sport has this issue. What percentage of NBA, NFL, MLB, NASCAR or other major sports fans have participated in professional or even amateur versions of those sports? Less than 10%? But nobody cares. If Adam Cianciarulo is photographed court side at a lakers game, I don’t imagine there are many people on NBA forums calling him a poser who never played basketball.
Meanwhile, any celebrity who shows up at a pro moto event will pop up on here and people will start vetting out his moto cred or showing skepticism about what he’s doing there. Then any celebrity is paraded around and displayed like “hey guys! Look at this super moto fan! They actually exist outside of this sport!”. If some celebrity wanted to go to track walk, watch qualifying from the floor, then retreat to a box to watch the night show in relative seclusion without being shoehorned into the night show, Feld should make that happen.
I guess I’m rambling a bit, but my point is that other sports rely on pure spectators to stay afloat so moto shouldn’t be so concerned about someone’s background if they just want to watch some Dirtbike racing.
When Strickland beat Adasayna two weeds ago it was awesome! He's a maniac.
I can confirm Griffey rode at least quads. My dad ran into him at a staging area years ago, was super cool but did ask him not to say anything at the time.
Saw vanilla ice at Ricky’s last SX in Orlando

I think it was Ron Gant(who was pretty good)from the Braves who broke his leg on dirt bike. Celebrity ties may be good, but if they get hurt, then all the braindead dolts fall right in line with "they are deadly or dangerous". I don't think the publicity wheelie boi stuff is helping the sport grow.
yes, but not there
I heard they used to go to Dirt Country, but I never saw them when I went unfortunately. It blows my mind that left handed people can even ride. No way I would have been able to operate a throttle with my off hand.
Almost everybody has been able to toss around a football, play some basketball, baseball, soccer and even most people have driven a vehicle. This creates a relatable circumstance. That's why stick and ball sports and auto racing have such a following, average people can relate. You ever try and talk dirt bikes with someone who hasn't ever ridden? (Usually the first question is if i can backflip). Fans are great to have and even ones who don't ride, but moto wont ever have the following the other sports have just because its hard to relate to. The hangup comes from the disconnect, personally I have zero interest in talking about dirt bikes with someone who just cant relate, but I do try to get people to try it and have gotten many people into the sport.
Remember this one... It didn't go over very well with his employer. )
San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner was placed on the disabled list for the first time in his career after suffering injuries to his ribs and throwing shoulder in a dirt bike accident, the team announced Friday.
Fernando Tatis Jr and Wander Franco both also injured themselves on dirt bikes. Tatis’ was higher profile because he missed time and it lead to his steroid suspension. Franco’s didn’t get any press but he missed a little bit of time. Franco is currently out of the league for allegedly having a relationship with multiple underage girls in the DR.
Rowdy Tellez (Milwaukee Brewers 1st baseman) used to tell people he wanted to be a professional motocross racer when he was in elementary school.
Aaron Nola (Philadelphia starting pitcher) is a legitimate fan of motocross and follows the entire season. I think he also usually attends multiple rounds of supercross every year.
Went with my dad to John Larroquettes house when I was a kid. He had a trailer with a couple XR’s on it. Thought that was cool

Also Jeff Kent and Madison Bumgarner.
When I was working on "Mr. Magoo" our cutting rooms were below his office and one day I knew I was going to be done early and be able to head to Friday practice up at LACR so I brought my CR with me. John saw it and we ended up talking for an hour about motocross standing next to my truck. He was a big fan and knew all about MC, Emig, Lusk, etc... but was more of the Hannah, Decoster, GP scene fan.
Ended up sitting next to him on a flight to SLC some years later and he remembered the whole convo. Wasn't as up to speed on the Moto scene at that point though. Interesting dude for sure.
Can't forget about The Fabio.

Jeff Kent was seen a few times at Glen Helen a couple time but tried to keep it incognito. His father was a motor cop from Anaheim and raced Fire Police MX events. Jeff owned a couple dealerships in Texas. I'm not sure if he still does though. Most celebs are prohibited by contract from doing moto, skydiving, alligator wrasslin' etc..
Gene Hackman was at a few races with his son Chris, who was local So Cal Pro if I recall
Hey Matthes it’s Van Halen NOT Van Hagar!!!!
Looks like Kenworthys?
Hulk Hogan used to bring his kid out to the local Sunshine MX track in St Pete. Didn't last all that long, but was still cool memory growing up. The rapper 2Pistols (not the most famous guy, but had a pretty big hit) has a race team he sponsors a few kids with, as well as his kid racing. If the moto community would be more open to these people, you never know who would start to pop up at tracks and get their families (and maybe even outside corporations) involved.
Channing Tatum and Dax Shepard ride. I've seen tatum at pala
