A plus effort team and I hope they do themselves proud. Hopefully Ernee cooperates weather wise and we all know the French crowd will be absolutely insane.

They could have rolled these guys out weeks ago if they were just trying to get people on Austrian bikes there. It took this long because they were trying to get the best team that wanted to and could go. There were zero guys saying they wanted to go but no one was calling.

It was a question. So you do think Roger's bosses were happy he was on the podium at the biggest race of the year with two Yamahas and a Honda? You think they wanted him at the race with their new multi-million dollar signee Chase on a Honda, fired employee Webb on a Yamaha, and former rider Deegan on a Yamaha? Don't be naive, the sport is about promotion of product. Matthes, ML and the like are great guys to be sure, but they can't tell us the whole story or nobody in the sport will divulge anything to them again.

Otherwise,  they wouldn't have allowed him to take the job in the first place in case something like this happened, and they would have told him to quit going forward in case the same thing happened again. They seem to be fully behind his Nations team managing gig.

It's not a made up non-issue. Matthes and Pelletier talked about Roger's place as the manager for at least a half hour. Pelletier went so far as to say, paraphrase, Roger can't do this forever and going forward no factory team managers will manage desNations teams. He stated, " I will tell them to their face." Likewise he even stated Ricky  wouldn't be allowed because of his affiliation with Triumph. Seems pretty fed up and decisive to me about a team manager running the USA team.

An all Decoster team, shocking. But atleast we’re going!

Not unprecedented as he's taken another "B" team when NOBODY else wanted to go.... Bunch of ungrateful punks don't deserve for DeCoster to lift a finger to help our team.

Sexton to KTM; not enough bike testing to race comfortably. Same with Webb. Tomac probably just got on a bike this week from injury. Kawi won't send riders, so JA21, AC9 and Hammaker are all out. Honda has no USA riders except Hymas. Does anyone ride Suzuki still? GasGas has Barcia, but he doesn't have the speed right now.

You would think Barcia has more time and speed on the bike than Craig who has been out since Glendale sx?

We will never know the real reasons I guess. For all we know the riders could just be tired and not motivated after a shit ton of racing.

It's been mentioned multiple times why Barcia isn't going. He is having some injuries taken care of after SMX

Nobody wanted to go, or nobody was allowed to go? We'll never know. As long as he's manager, he'll always look like the good guy.

Ive heard this track is pretty hard packed? If so I think Craig will do really well hes always done well on hard packed tracks very smooth and technical.

I dont see RJs or APs riding style being the best on hard packed but they'll do fine. Man I bet a win here would mean so much to CC and RJ im sure AP will be stoked but hes had pretty good success while RJ and CC have sort of been on the struggle bus as of late.

I'm fully behind not having another team manager manage the MXdN team. Trying to find someone qualified that isn't tied to another brand in one way or another may be a bit of an issue.

Pumped for the team, but kinda concerned to put CC in mx3 instead of mx1. Mx3 has back to back motos, mx1 gets a nice break to recover. Might be asking a lot from CC after not racing since April. Did they give AP MX1 because of his loyalty and quickness to volunteer? I’d switch AP and CC to have the best chance to win as possible. Still will support these guys 110%.

Wanted to go and could go are 2 entirely different things...

Anderson is a perfect example.

Agreed. If it wasn’t for Decoster would there even be a USA team this year?

We have a team.  A good team.  3 guys that know going in that no matter how hard they try...half the fans will crucify them if they don't win.  It's unavoidable...and sad.

That said...they still stood up and said, "I'll go".   Respect.

I said earlier in this thread...if they get grief here on Vital...I'm calling people out.  Might get clicked but I don't care.  These boys saddled up when we needed them.  You don't talk shit about that kind of guts...around me.Angry

I'm an unabashed DeCoster fan.  Never denied it.  Was his position as team manager the reason we had this mess or did he pull us out of the fire once again.  I honestly don't know.

It's obvious there's a problem.  Until we get valid questions with honest answers how can we fix this going forward?

I'm absolutely onboard with this suggestion. As others have pointed out having an industry heavyweight from one of the factories managing the MXON team is a conflict of interest, especially De Coster who seems to be a divisive figure among the team bosses.

J-Bone has all the experience, he works (part-time) for the AMA, is respected by everyone in the pits, and is chill and conciliatory - meaning he can get the relevant players to the table and make sure everyone works together toward a common goal.

Absolutely, I love this team.  Just like 2019 with Anderson, Zacho. and Cooper, everyone should be behind them no matter what.

Something I feel like isn't being talked about enough is CC's ability to just show up randomly and perform when you least expect it. I know it was a long time ago at this point (2014ish?) but if I remember correectly when he would pop out of retirement for a random outdoor race he would always do far better than expected. I don't remember his exact results but that's what ended up getting him his TLD ride...along with the family tie I understand.. but he still was always pretty impressive. So, I'm hopeful that we see a repeat of that? I admittedly don't have much belief in him in the long run of an entire series but for a one off race I am hopeful. Either way, gotta get behind the boys!

Yes, sure. A neutral manager would likely be good, if they can find a good one, and it seems like there are lots of good possibilities out there. That is after all likely the main speculation around Kawi not going. But framing it as Rogers bosses being unhappy in him winning just because there were other colored bikes on the podium is a stretch. If that was an issue for him, and them,  they wouldn't have him there in the first place.

Yeah, I like this thought process...  But it's also nice to hear CC say today that he's been doing moto's for a month now already.  Many of us were thinking he just got on the bike last week.  So that's 2 full months of full outdoor prep for MXoN.

RV, Zacho, Albrecht I think would all be good team managers.  I just love how vocal Zacho is about this race his heart is in it.  RV was the same way I think we need that with our team manager.  Not saying Roger doesn't but just seems like new blood is needed.

RV would be a good choice, but as mentioned in an earlier post here; RC wouldn't be considered due to his affiliation with Triumph. I wonder if it would be the same with RV? I think Albrecht would be the best bet.

It wasn’t Mike Pelletier, it was Paul Perebijnos from Renthal.

In any case the discussion wasn’t implying that anything inappropriate had taken place, but that any team manager (regardless of brand) would have the perception of bias simply due to the nature of their job.

He also took the time to explain that Roger is one of about five people that have key input to the team.
