Looks like they ran out of dirt. I'll believe the grass start when I see it in a race. As particular as these guys have gotten about start procedures I can't imagine they'll go for it.

the dirt starting before the corner on the start is throwing me off. Every time I see the picture of it, I think it is the worlds shortest start.

 

I also think they ran out of dirt, which caused the major changes for the layout

Considering the lap times are almost 2 minutes if they stopped in for an adjustment they might not have made that many laps.

So did Forkner get hurt during moto 2 last week? Doesnt seem like he's racing tomorrow. Or can he race after skipping both Friday practices?

I prefer the original track map...  But it is what it is.  I think it looks very fast.  I expect a great race!

I know some will see this as a bit of a conspiracy theory but….I have been involved with promoting events and you always think of what builds the most interest.  Having said that….I can’t help but feel this track being more motocrossey, then even the original track map, might be from some quiet promoter input to help their golden boy.  It favors Jett even more and they want him to do well and the points to be closer.  If Chase won this week, and Jett took 2nd, then next week, even with triple points, Chase doesn’t have to race for the win.  A third gets him the championship…so…it is in the series best interest for Jett to win this week.  Anyone?

Is that what you would have done as a promoter?

Yup..but quietly.  A close points battle=more interest and viewers. = money.

I will say….I think a lot of the changes are from lack of materials…enough dirt and sand…but I could be wrong.

Roczen with the super consistent lap times. only .007 off his 2nd fastest time. Ask Carmichael, he'll tell you how important 2nd fastest times are.
