I'm a diehard Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks sports fan so I listen to ESPN 1000 Chicago radio every day while working and they've been playing commercials advertising the race for weeks. Matter of fact as I'm typing this now the radio hosts started talking about it and how cool it looks, the whole station is taking their kids to the race. Pretty cool to hear about it on such a big radio station.

I understand there's stadium vacancy and event timings. But why in Chicago? There's less than 100 moto fans around that location.

I think it will be packed.  Remember…Joliet is actually an hour outside of Chicago and there are a shit ton of riders outside of the city.  Add them to the fans in the city and anyone driving/flying in to the area to watch, what should be, a kick ass race and I think you may be surprised.  I almost went to it from Denver.

Pretty imaginative track IMO.   Can't wait to see it in action.    2 sand sections....SWEEET!

Long track, looks way long than the first round. Pretty high speed and no rhythm lanes so probably a more middle ground setting would work well. Looks like a great track!

Yeah, look at that high speed run up into the "it looks like whoops". That will be gnarly.

Looks sweet, should be another good race.

Hopefully Sexton can get it done, would be cool to see him get another local win on the big stage.

You'd imagine Jett will click another gear this week though.

Really curious to see how they build the whoops. Guess they will be more Washougal like?

When teams and riders struggle to setup a bike on a pure SX track I can't imagine what a pain in the ass it will be in the next two weeks.

Joliet is NOT an hour away from Chicago. Its less than 30 miles. How slow are you driving? That's a 25 min drive when driving with the typical Chicago traffic going 80 in a 55.

I dont know a thing about Nascar, but doesn't the asphalt have a lot of inclination?

They put a sand section, a huge double and an entire whoop section on the asphalt

Pretty sure even that seemingly flat section of track is banked to a degree.. banked whoops into a triple Blink

The track map also shows the section of track that goes outside the oval to be flat, and it's a pretty steep bank from what i've seen on the Dirt Wurx IG. Should be interesting to see how it all comes out

The track is 11 degrees of banking on the front stretch. 18 in the turns.

Okay…exact drive times were not really my point …but you are right if you are on the southwest side.  It depends on where you live obviously.  It was 45 minutes from my house at actual speed….and yes, I drive fast.  Close to an hour from downtown is realistic.  Maybe 50 min if you are on it and traffic cooperates.  Again…not really the point.

I have a feeling they will be small almost wheelie through like the little section at Charlotte.  Not challenging is my guess.  Even with the 11 degree slope to the side.

lol what are you talking about.  Just the people who frequently attend the motocross track that's in Joliet will bring 100's of people.  Sorry you don't get race #3 in Minnesota for the year. Place is going to be packed.

Northern IL is one of the more happening moto regions in the midwest and produced the current 450 SX champ
