This is par for the course if you ever spend time at a triumph dealer. They're usually a different hipster crowd...Just because things are different than what we're used to doesn't meant they're not doing it right.

Marketing fail for those who have the attention span of a gnat.

Here we are a month or more later discussing it.

Absolutely brilliant marketing.

We're talking a racing bike here, right?

If this bikes wins/fast who is going to remember the, admittedly odd, roll out?

It's September, serious training starts in what, 30 days? I don't think the team will be ready for 24' sx and will announce it's run for the 2025 season in November. I'm sure there's a bike, but it may not be where they want/need it to be. It sounds like it will be a solid program once everything is ironed out.

Don't worry, the full reveal is less than a week from now...

No "full reveal" was mentioned, only that RC will be riding it on the 5th (probably wearing the newly acquired Phil cam)

You know it's motocross, they won't win without the fastest riders.

In 250fs

Yamaha started it and then turned the engine around
Honda had quite a unique cam design.

Ktm was quite unique

kawi and Suzi was one engine that felt very ‘inspired’ by existing - which is only one engine that was a sort of copy

Now 2 with triumph. But the copying is an exception not the widespread norm.

I agree some of the manufacturers had unique components, but don't forget KTM purchased Husaberg to create their "unique" design.

I'm also not arguing Triumph is heavily influenced by existing engines.  For them to break into a brand new category at the highest level, I'm not surprised they used the current models as a spring board.  If they find traction in off-road, I have no doubt they can and will find ways to improve their design.

Honestly you must be blind to not see that the engine is basically a ktm engine. The blot line up etc. They just changed the valve cover/ clutch cover. They probably bought the right to the old ktm engine and they are built by zongshen in China. Zongshen however decided to release the ktm engine without changing the cover as you see in the Russian video that was posted. And finally the Chinese company Koshine has bought the right to the carburated 2 stroke ktm. The are selling the 125,150, 250 and even a 300cc 2 stroke ktm clone. I talked to the company and every ktm parts for to these engine.

Please post a video where you are bolting KTM parts onto a Triumph engine.  We'll wait...

I have no doubt they had all of the competitor's engines lined up and took design queues from all of them.  JUST LIKE KTM back in the early 2000's.  Yamaha (and briefly Husaberg)  are the only brands who have broken the mold in the last 25 years with 4-stroke design.  All others have reverse engineered and re-engineered existing designs.  There are MANY similarities to existing platforms, but it is OBVIOUS there are enough differences to see these did NOT come from the same molds or castings as KTM.

I just find the negativity amazing.  With all the complaints about racing whether it's available rides, or lack of pay, why aren't we ecstatic another brand is supporting the sport by developing a new platform?

rivvs wrote:

Did you not see the two picture comparing the two case and bolt pattern?

Yes, did you?

It is a similar, but not exact.  The castings on both the cylinder and the crankcase are different as well.

I’ve never seen so many people bent out of shape because a company decided to reveal their bike in a different way. Holy hell are people just miserable?? Them doing it this way doesn’t affect us one bit. Who cares. It’s another bike in the line up.

The slow reveal sure does have us ALL talking about something new and fresh that is coming down the pipeline.

Genius PR in my opinion.

Normally I'd say this sort of thing wouldn't surprise me, but that theory doesn't really gel with the way that they've handled this launch so far.

Got an email today from a Triumph dealer, mentioning the new Moto cross & enduro range

(Don't know how or why they have my email address?)

Has anyone seen any info about the enduro bike ? ,

or is that coming last, after the 450 ?

That was my first thought.

I still don't understand why iPhone does that.I can send an android pic to an iPhone and it looks great. The other way sucks.

It certainly doesn't make me want to run out and get an iPhone.

I just tell people to email them to me if I want to see a sharp image.

Well the videos are still trash from android to iphone. I have android grandson has iPhone. Pics look normal but the videos are so bad i have to post them on a fb post so he can download from there to get a better quality. Its fucking stupid they do this shit.

Those photos are blurred by design...  Just like every other Bigfoot and UFO photo.

But seriously, let's see what it looks like with Mosiman out bouncing it off the rev limiter...  You know that's what we are all dying to see.  Tongue

People are still discussing Bud Light's marketing failure, and that doesn't make it a marketing success.

You are cherry picking the data; I would expect them to have more views since it is a new bike being introduced.  Their video which is two week newer has less views.  Why not compare 191K views to Yamaha's video of the release of the YZF250F that has 937K views ? Or Yamaha's 50th Anniversary Lineup which has almost 600K views?  Both were released around the same time as Triumph. One would think that there would be much more interest in a new addition, but there's not.

True but that's about the worst area of atlanta you can be in.  Cheap rent and airport. We will go with that!

So, theres nothing to the motox compound of matt walker's?

Or I just picked a random manufacturer and posted the results I found. Surely couldn't have just done that, right? Do you think I have any connection to Triumph? I'm just commenting on the internet.

Literally everyone saying "people are losing interest" post zero evidence other than they just think people feel the same way they do. I show an example of there being some level of interest and y'all go "way to cherry pick some data". I think I need to just disassociate from these threads at this point as they're all being taken over by conspiracy theorists. Triumph will succeed if their bike is actually good, not whether their social media roll out was the same as every other brand.
