Why do Vitards think the Gasgas isn't that good?

Because it’s based on the KTM and TV said it wasn’t as good as his GP bike. The Australian bikes are rarely upfront. There was a couple motos that the Huskies started up front but other than that the red, white, and orange versions of the bike have struggled all year. It’s obvious it’s not on par with the blue and geez bikes, and it can be reasoned that the Hondas are only up there due to the abilities of Hunter.

I was really hoping he would work out and blossom with PC being a life long team green kid but it just isn't happening.  Hoping he's not another supermini hot-shot burnout, kid has all the potential. Maybe a change in scenery and training program will get him on the right track but whatever he's been doing the last couple years isn't working.

Why do Vitards think the Gasgas isn't that good?

Because they think equipment/bikes is the biggest factor of success but forget that the KTM group haven't had an elite rider on a 250f since Marv.

I have no dog in this fight, but KTM currently has a guy who came to the states with the exact same credentials as Marv.

Whoever trains this kid physically should find something else to do, seriously. He starts good. He has good technique & form. Speed is pretty good, he had the fastest lap in moto 2 @ Ironman. But, man, the fitness is horrendous and hasn't improved one bit during the season...I think I picked him in my Pulp MX fantasy at Millville. Saw he was 4th in a moto and I was like, "I'm gonna max double points that moto"... He dropped bad and didn't even double point.  Also, he's gonna have to take more chances. He wasn't doing that prejump to get over the dip while most riders where doing it on saturday. You can't not do that at that level especially if 20 guys are doing it. Didn't look that hard nor that dangerous. There's an undeniable potential but he has to get to work and do something different (it's clearly not working) if he doesn't want the 2024 rookies to devour him

Hmmm, I don't know obviously but kinda would have assumed RV would be looking at all of it if he's working with him.

I'm aware of Vialle, I didn't mention him because he isn't the rider Marv was credentials aside, at the same time Vialle has not shown his best but his best over in the GP's was not as good as Marv.

My point is they haven't had the riders.

The only difference between Vialle and Marv in GPs is that Marv went back-to-back on his c-ships. And Tom has had a better first season in the states than Marv did. If you're basing "elite rider" off of Marv's overall career, then that's doing a disservice to Tom, because he's just getting started.

A statistic that doesn't support this well is out of 22 motos this year, he only finished better than his first lap position twice. In two motos he DNF'd...so in 18 motos, he finished worse than where he was on lap one.

Washougal moto two he rounded the first lap in fifteenth and finished the moto in twelfth.

Unadilla moto one he rounded the first lap in tenth and finished the moto in ninth.

Clearly he has work to do, they all do to a point. The kids words were he doesn’t ride relaxed and needs to learn to, because it tires him out quickly. He is still learning.

The same happens to me when I race and it's because I don't train for it properly.

An 18 year old who doesn't quite have his shit together, imagine that, I am stunned. I think he can have a mulligan or two for a little bit, the speed is there.

Mr. Vuillemin's input is invaluable to me as a fan, and I appreciate it truly. But to put Ryder D's season in perspective when Mr. Vuillemin was 18 on a Kawasaki in the World Championship he finished 30 th or so in points. Perhaps he may have been a little younger or older, but their have been plenty of fast riders that took time to acclimate to the pro pace. As historians of the sport I think Mr. Lindsay and Vuillemin know this.

DV has been pretty critical about his own career and mistakes. He's pretty open about it.

There's only room for a few at the top. Most will fade out after a couple years, especially with so many going pro right now and the timing aint the best with the way deegan is riding.

I respect all the guys quoted above and Im gonna have to say on this one I think the kids needs conditioning help pretty bad. Its almost a guarantee he was gonna fade. He can say his conditioning is good but the results speak differently. He may need to also work on the other stuff mentioned but I got to believe he is failing conditioning class. I hate it too, I had high hopes for the kid.

Wasn’t this guy Kawi’s “guy” since he was on 50s? Didn’t he then have to do 2 years of futures, and they let him do one outdoor season as a pro and he’s gone? Is there that much of a discount between pc and team green?

really i believe his team mates got hurt when they had bike problems at different times during the year ..Joe wasnt happy with the bike most of the year also is what i heard ..on two different occassions ryders bike eitther wouldnt start or would cut out during races this year...not blaming his year on the bike im just stating what i heard,,.I do know he just wanted to make it through the nationals without injury and to get experience.. Ryder is very smart and very talented on the bike he will get up there without a doubt ..
