Ricky was cooler (just because I’m partial having grown up in that era) but Jett's cool too.
anyway...for discussion.
I’ve only been a part of this sport for a few weeks, but I’ve never in my life- seen so many girls, women, wives, moms and grandmas- lined up to get an autograph or a pic with their Jett. Ricky was incredible, but this Jett phenomenon is absolutely mind boggling. He’s ridiculously talented, and everyone seems to love the lad…
well that's what it was like for Rick Johnson
I think Jett Lawrence is Jett Lawrence.
He’s the Rick Johnson of Jett Lawrences.

Hey Rupert, welcome to the sport! Hang in there and you’ll get the hang of moto likety-split! 🤪🤪🤪
😎 👍❗️(I kid! You silly old-timer! 😆)
Now a comparison to Rick Johnson??? Maybe he is JMB too.
He’s about the size of Johnson. But Johnson’s competition was a little closer.
He just needs to have a Coors after a SX win and he’s nailed it
This is 2 years old…
Can anyone find 1987 Super Bowl of Motocross at the L.A. Coliseum where Ricky come from last to win and in his victory speech he said have a coors I’m going too….
been searching the web for hours…
Dude was casually eating an ice cream cone at the press conference at Budds after making some of the best athletes in the world look like amateurs. 😂
If Jett is RJ reincarnate, who in the pack takes him out and busts his wrist in the future and ends his career?
I feel like Phil is the return of Danny Storbeck.
Well then Chase = Stanton.
I thought he was more closer to Hunter Deegan.
I’ve said that in a post before in several posts hahaha
I can’t think of a previous rider Chase reminds me of. He’s kinda his own thing. Similarly I’ve never seen another Jeff Ward. But Lawrence and RJ definitely share some of the same limelight.
Closest rider I can think of is Gautier Paulin, but yeah not the same.
Too hip … but dam can he go!!!
Pit Row
Haha! I was watching it with my girl and said was he eating an ice cream cone? She's like yup
Let's say that as a riding style he is much more like David Bailey.
Ricky used a little bit more force, while David was pure technique. Very similar to Jett now.
How I wish I could have kept watching those two champions.
I do think he looks a little like RJ in stature. I've actually said this to my friends a few times. As another poster said RJ was a little more brute force at times but we haven't really seen Jett in a panic yet either (maybe a touch when Chase got real close). Being compared to Ricky Johnson in any way on the bike is a compliment imho.
That's a Hannah like psyche job
Nope.....RJ is and will always be the best (i'm from that era too)
I don't think we've ever had another Rick Johnson. Jett is still super young, when Rj was his age he was still all smiles and only grew into that meaner exterior into this mid 20's. Watching Jett transform through the next championships is going to watch.
Looking to Hunter's move to the 450 with equal anticipation.
Rick Lawrence
Naw he’s more like Rick James bitches! He put them five fingers to the face all season long! Cold blooded! 😂

Jett is fluid like what David Bailey was in his day. Johnson was Tomac or Anderson style. If Jett stays healthy maybe he will be the next GOAT.
Was it in his motivation VHS they said he was at the tim the only MX guy to be in the club ….
You might be right but, I’ve had a flat top since the 7th grade lol. Does that count? 😂
