he is horrendous at announcing. Anybody who feels differently is blinded by his ability to ride a dirt bike really, really well. The 2 jobs are very different, and he doesn’t do them both proficiently
They had that horrendous pile of shite a few years ago - then thankfully got rid of it after a few races. Whose idea was it to bring it back?

Yeah, but this is not the correct comparison. Most of the people on this forum are vitards not professional sports announcers. RC should be better than them. The real comparison should be with others in the same line of work. For example Paul Malin. RC has had years and years in the booth and has not improved.

If I didn’t know moto and/or who RC was and I just causally happened onto yesterday’s race I would never dive deeper into moto because I would be that put off by the terrible broadcasting and seeming uneducated blabber coming from RC.

He didn't have his best race today but overall he has gotten better and i'll take Weege and RC over Ralph or Harris and anyone... so you know, it could be worse.

I'm not here to shit on any of the announcers or whatnot, and the camera side of things and switching between battles was marginally better than usual this week...
But the clutch, boom, epic, etc sounds like when you were a kid and your mum or some shitty outside group presentation at school tried using (present at the time) slang and made you cringe so hard you feel like you could almost implode.
I mean, each to their own but what RC said is a position I never wish to find myself in...
And to further the cringe...
Weege is starting to use the phrase, "send it".
the problem is fixable but RC won’t do it. solution - forget your marks, forget your cadence, forget trying to be professional, forget what the experts have told you, and most of all kick an executive in the balls when they try to tell you “how this is done”. lastly, just be yourself. say what you want when you want and let the rest take care of itself. that’s how to be a good announcer if you’re RC.
I've never commented on any of the announcers before but he's gotta go. It's ridiculous. Cringeworthy like others have said. Look he's the goat and I'm a huge fan of his career but it's time to do something else in the sport. Just because he's the goat doesn't mean he should be allowed to suck at this job and be able to keep it.
I've watched so many sports on tv on a regular basis over the years - NHL, NFL, NBA, F1, IndyCar, Tennis, Golf, Boxing, Sports talk shows - and I've never encountered someone as bad as RC. Announcing is just not his thing and that's ok. Time to move on to something else.

What annoys me now is just sheer amount of talking from all the members. They should have Weege calling the play by play, Stewart giving us some technical insight, and then the rest of the team should only talk between motos.
To all the RC haters you must have a perfect personal life and do everything to perfection, congratulations. 👍🏻
He’s got a personality, not a drone, and a ton of experience and insight. How do the announcing bobbles affect your life personally? Serious question… do you pick apart your wives and kids too? Buncha tools 👎🏼
Yesterday he was caught between swerve and squirm, so ended up with "swirm".. haha
My favorite RC moment was a couple years ago in SX. Ricky said "You can't have your cake and eat it too" and Ralph said something along the lines of "well you've had plenty of cake" and then some silence. RC started getting back in shape shortly after.

He doesn’t feel natural, can barely string together a sentence, and screws up names of half the field. He would never have the job if it weren’t for his success in the sport. For some reason the execs want someone in the booth with a bunch of titles instead of someone who is actually educated and able to speak.
RC is the worst ever! Yes he is the goat, but he sucks so bad at announcing. Anyone that defends him must be on his intelligence level.

I rarely am critical of who is in the booth but Ricky seems like he has really been stumbling over his words this season. Rather then having him seemingly stress over having perfect grammar and enunciation, I'd like to see him just be himself. I don't care if he makes up words etc...just talk without stopping half way through a sentence to stutter over a word or thought.
100%. While I think some of the shine is wearing off Bubba at least he is himself in the booth. I don’t think he’s as good as everyone is making him out to be, but he’s definitely better then Ricky. I wish we could have someone like Malin. He really calls the race rather then making everything a story. He ability to know what’s going on in all parts of the race is amazing. He clearly has much better producers then what we have. Weege is pretty good IMO but nowhere near Malin.
The worst thing is no one with any sway will say RC is bad because they don’t want to upset the apple cart.
I like RC for his wise-ass, shit talking. Hes the best in the business at it, but doesn't do it much anymore. I much prefer to have Weege, Stew, and Daniel Blair in the booth.
450 moto 1 they are to busy talking about random stuff while sexton is doing sexton stuff and dont even mention it until they notice a few minutes later. Please someone tell them to call the race rather than tell stories.
