Even if its doesnt rain between now and the event, they will water it to within an inch of its life, and it will be a rutfest.

this is no joke.

I've been lucky enough to get to attend two French GP's in the last year, and they REALLY put down the water - these French clay tracks are more difficult than hard pack tracks in America because the ruts get so deep and the hooks are just sick.

Think Thunder Valley, except with deeper ruts and harder dirt.

I grew up riding Carlsbad and Saddleback tracks which were hard clay, but the amount of water the French put down is just insane as compared to anything Ive ever experienced.

I don't know if anyone besides the French guys are really good at riding these insanely deep clay ruts TBH.

Deegan's the fastest, most consistent US rider. The only thing he's got going against him is experience but who else is there to choose from who has more experience? RJ? Dude crashes every moto. The next best guy after RJ is Levi Kitchen. Is he gonna be on the team? Are they gonna send Max Vohland? It would be crazy not to have him on the team.

Circling back to this, it goes to show the madness this silly season has been. RJ has a better shot of participating on a 450, Coop (if he wasn’t sitting out) would arguably be on a 450, Kitchen is mid team switch, Vohland is also mid team switch. Deegan for all intensive purposes is THE staple 250 guy for foreseeable future as a rookie no less.

With it being a long season is any of the top riders going want to do mx de nations.  I wouldn’t doubt Heiden would, but what about the 450 guys.

If it was a sand track Deegan would be a risky pick, but it’s not, so I don’t see why this is even a question anymore?

I wouldn't say he's a better rider at this point, but a better pick. He has two mxdn events under his belt. In Assen he won his qualifying heat in the dutch sand. At Redbud he absolutely crushed the rest of the MX2 guys including Hunter

Deegan will be on the team because he's currently only 3 points behind arguably the fastest 250 rider on the planet - which means he's been pretty damn consistent. Unless he implodes over the next 3 races, it'd be silly not to pick him.

I mean you are correct, but Hunter did gift him 50 points in two consecutive moto's and is not at 100% riding shape.

The fact that this is even a question is a damn good reason that it's time for Roger to not be involved with MXdN anymore.

He's had a good run, he's done his part....time to step down and let someone else lead the charge.  Hopefully someone who has more people skills and doesn't polarize people and other teams like "The Man" does.

Heck....maybe if Rog isn't involved anymore we could have the option of taking a Kawi rider once in awhile?

Right? DeCoster isn’t some pissy pre-teen. If that had any merit I doubt we would’ve seen Webb at all this outdoor season.

Who else could it be since Cooper has been confirmed out since before the season started? Nobody else has an argument at all. If he wants to go he should be in.

If Deegan and RJ truly won’t/can’t go … We are screwed. The best bet would be to do something they never do. Drop a 450 guy down for the race.

Multiple Mx media guys, including Matthes. Holy smokes, you guys on here need to take a chill pill. Do you guys even look at other moto media besides the vital forum & Cooksey?

So it was all just an act to try to get in Hunters head?

little insight to why i said that

Judging by the times he ran a faster average lap time than Deegan did, held off Jcoop for a while while keeping the gap between him and Hunter around 2 seconds. Hes also got that American patriotism that everyone praises Deegan for and says it will be great for the team. Seems he may have gotten a little tired towards the end of the moto but that’s nothing he can’t fix with almost 2 months until MXON. If he keeps it on 2 wheels and continues to ride like he did, I don’t see why not.

I think like many others I'm a bit confused. I was under the impression he was all in and would jump at the chance to go.  Did something within the team happen or backstage politics?  I sure hope it's not sour grapes over what's happened over the last 2 races. They would never admit it but if that becomes the ultimate perception without any other valid reason then that's gonna piss a lot of people off I'm guessing.

I can’t remember any time deegan coming out and saying he wanted to go ,  I think it was assumed with the talk

I don't remember him saying it either but seems like every time he beat Hunter he was boasting about America so naturally I'm thinking "this dude definitely wants to be at MXoN to battle Hunter for country pride" but for this news to suddenly come out after he's had two shit races I can't help but wonder.  If it's a team issue, politics, injury, special circumstance like with Cooper, I can understand that.  Just seems weird that he was so patriotic after the races he won or at least beat Hunter and now after 2 races where his bike shit the bed costing him a chance at the title and now a rookie first turn fuckup by him and now we hear from several sources he doesn't want to do it.

I'm not on either side of this whole Deegan thing. I'm not a huge fan simply because I'm a diehard Team Green guy but I surely respect any rider with talent and ability like him. That's why I'm saying I hope that isn't the case, that he or his family is pissed about how these last 2 races have gone so they wanna pack up and go home after the season.  I would love to see him on the gate because I do believe he's our best 250 rider at the moment especially with RJ having a serious injury.

On the bright side, maybe we do see Barcia drop down to 250's. At least that would be very interesting/entertaining.

I remember listening to Brian during covid that he was annoyed because they couldn't travel and go to Europe to run a season in the 125 class, I'm surprised by these rumors wtf.

Yeah I remember something about Brian praising the MXGP Feeder system, because here in Europe kids race 125cc 30+2 since they are 14, and the model works (Look at Jett)

But I guess now that Haiden is in the Pro Ranks it doesn't sound very appealing to travel to Europe for a weekend 1 week after the L.A final and spend your own money doing that, the rumors about him doing a WSX rounds might make more sense to him (500k $$$ like Tomac and Kenny got last year)

Exactly this .

He can fuck off , and stay fucked off.

Career defining moment right there.

Just like when Tomac turned it down

People dont forget.

While i am not a Cooper Webb fan, i properly respected him for stepping up to race a 450 at Ernee when nobody else would.
