It’s getting close to 2024 dirt scooters hitting the floor. Austrian bike are on the floor from what I see. What's your plans for 2024 or going to ride what ya got.
I have a deposit on 24 Beta 300 RX. I’m not getting any younger, 67 and wanted to get another 2 stroke before age gets me. Spoke with my dealer few days back and still no word from Beta on delivery other than Sept. He said Beta sends usually sends email out when bikes hit the port. Hope is not a strategy but hope my banged up left hand is better by the time it gets in.
I’m having a hard time deciding to do what to with with the three scooters in the garage. I have a hard time of turning loose of things. That and selling in this day and time can be frustrating. Especially in a big metro area like Houston, scammer/crooks on every corner. Having a hard time getting rid of my 2023 250R. Didn’t really get to ride it much it. Never did get used to it. Got busy with home improvement projects. Then tried to pull my index finger off my left hand and can’t ride. Used market is also soft, heat index of 115 not helping. Space in my a garage is already and issue and pretty sure my wife has learned to count!
What plans you guys got going for new scooters or ride what ya got.
Thanks Billy,
Keeping my yz 250 2s getting a 125 and thinking about a husky 250f. Turning 50 in november
Hanging on to what we got.
Just started a new family so unfortunately MX stuff will take a back seat until we’re able to get property. My original plan was to get one of those 300RXs as well after seeing one at a local dealer, but I also put more money into a RM125 resto than I thought I would.
Fortunately my wife and I met through a street bike club in college so she doesn’t mind the garage full of bikes. The back row is all hers.
I feel much better now after looking at pic of your garage………but my wife doesn’t!
Sold my 22yz250 2smoke and a 21 yz450f.

My 3rd season aboard a 21 YZ250X this year. Also been putting some time on my Dad's '22 Rieju MR200. It definitely got me wanting a new bike just for the feeling of having a fresh and "tight" feeling bike. Needless to say, my bike is getting pretty hammered for as new as it. My plan was to get a '24 125 KTM125XC and put a 144 kit in it. I'm a B class guy in the woods and haven't shown much progression lately so I figured I might as well ride something fun and sound fast. Unfortunately for my racing but fortunately for my career aspirations, I'm going back to college so new bike is getting postponed another couple seasons. Hopefully by then the new YZ250FX will be midway through it's development cycle, and that will probably be my go to just because I've never owned a 4t and anytime I've rode an FX, it's made me feel like a pro.
Not sure yet. Currently on a '21 YZ250F and '19 YZ125. Kind of want a '24 YZ 125 or 250F but both of mine are low hr and set up pretty nice for what I want. Tempted to just do GYTR head on my 250F instead of '24. My plans change every day, it seems lol.
I’d like to see what the reviews of the 24 yz250f are. If it’s as good as the 450 it’s a no brainier. Otherwise ilL be split between 23 Honda or KTM 250f
Much as I love my old CR, the realities of owning a primary bike now old enough to join me for a weekend of bacchanalia and debauchery in Vegas are kind of catching up with me. So, looking into some replacement ideas and I really have no idea which way I'm going, although whatever it is will probably going to have an "X" in the model designation and an 18" rear.
I was interested in a 24 YZ250F, but Beta fees were much less, at least in my area. Changed my mind.
I need to put this iPad down, get out of my recliner and take pics and advertise bikes in the garage. If not I’ll have to lean one up against my wife’s baby grand piano. Bet that would go over good. Screw it, think I’ll just set here and watch pre season football.
2022 CRF250R. Only 32 hours on it, got the suspension dialed with FC, including the linkage, and a 2.15 rear wheel, going to spend my money an an exhaust and ECU and hold on to it until the redesigned 26.
24 kx450
Badly yearn for a leftover ‘23 CRF TooFiddy, however, I’ve always been one of those unlucky dudes that has to sell a bike first, to get that loot. So, it’s my prized ‘87 CR250 that must go. Found no buyers, yet.. perhaps you ? $5500.00. Ohio.
I’d guess Kawasaki will sell every 450 they make for 24, quickly. I’m. Not a 450 guy but a green bike is not a bad bet.
Just hit 252 hours on my 2017 crf450 this weekend. Great bike, no issues, good durability and maintenance intervals have been fantastic. It's hard to beat Honda and I really like the look of the current 21-24 bike, but I'm uninterested in rigidity and an unpredictable chassis. Thinking of going green or orange for 24.
I think im calling it quits for mx next year.
started racing in 2004, seems fitting to quit in 2024 i guess?
i have a -23 crf450 that i race in the swedish nationals and i have 11 hours on it since october last year, its just not that fun anymore.
ill still keep my -06 cr250 along with a 350 exc for enduro, but for the first time in 20 years im not planning on buying a new bike, ive been on hondas since -04 aswell
The 2008 RM250 went strong today, I think it’s got another year or two in it!
I’ll be 53 next year so almost done with mx, debating getting a ‘24 YZ250F or maybe try to pick up a low hour ‘23 ktm350sxf. Also maybe just keep my ‘21 YZ250f and get a 300 or 350 off road bike. Been riding my KTM 500EXCF a lot more off road than my mx bike and wouldn’t mind something a little more suited to single track
I'm way older. My MX is really just taking a few easy laps during the week when not many are around. Once this Beta 300 RX comes in. Its going to be a swiss army knife. Even though its labeled an MX bike, its a six speed with slightly larger tank. Might even put a kickstand on it lol. I plan to tall the gears, crank the PV down so I can ride trails, sgl track and easy MX tracks. Other older guys have done the same thing. Seems to make sense for me. Will know once it comes it.
Pit Row
selling my 22 450sxf, going bluecru for 24 yz450f
Someones plan could include my 23yz450 that has 6 hours on it.
Can't ride much, won't ride it in the mud, so I'm looking to downgrade to a current gen kx450, a 2008crf450, or maybe a chain driven road glide I can see if I can kill myself on... Wanting something I'm not afraid to go woods riding with my kid on and not ruining a 11k bike in the woods lol..
Freshening up the the 23 TX 300 that I have and waiting for my 24 FE 450 to come in. Love my 300 but wanted to add another to the stable for the faster off road stuff.
I want to go ktm or gas gas 350 again but I just can't stomach a 10k bike that's just a no go I've decided. So when the 25s start being announced I'm gonna offload the 18 and 21 yz250f and go 2 24 rmz250's or maybe 250 450 depending on deals might go 24 kawi. If I stay blue I'll dump the 18 and grab 24 250f.
Even with ktms great contingency 10k for one bike is a no go.
I just can’t make up my mind right now. In a position to buy a new bike for the first time in my life. Have always gotten a used bike in the past and was never really able to afford moto. Now I’m in a position to do so and it’s really exciting. I just can’t decide whether to get 250, 450, or what brand.
I’m looking to get a pumpkin 350. Just got to get rid of my Yz and Kx 🫠
Before I put a deposit down on a Beta 300 RX I seriously kicked around the idea of GasGas MC350. But talked myself out of it. When your retired you have a lot more time to think about things. Which makes things harder to make up your mind LOL. At least for me!
Regret putting it up for sale for that price you did? Bet it would be gone by now if you had been more reasonable lol. I learned too, it's not a dig.
Nope. I'm getting mine more and more dialed in as time goes on. I have bike hopped for a while and honestly I'm getting the best results ever by spending time and energy whittling my current unit to perfection and building a database in my mind of what works and what doesn't, what it likes, what changes to the bike translate to the track, etc.
Have a pair of '21 YZ450s with decently low hours, love them and am inclined to keep going...
Not sold on the new-gen (23+) YZ chassis. I ride mostly sand, I think the handling changes they've made would be backwards for me.
The 24 Kawi looks great.
I also like red.
Speaking with my wallet and sticking with what I have. The trusty, rusty 2006 YZ250 is going to have to keep me happy another year or two, and then I can let loose a little bit.
