Sheesh, I stated in my post that I don’t feel Peacock is to blame yet a few of you idiots feel the need to comment implying I’m blaming Peacock. Yeah, my internet sucks. I live in an area that doesn’t get super fast internet, so I can’t help that. I can watch it flawlessly on my iPhone, MacBook Pro, iPad Pro all at the same time, so I feel it SHOULD be fast enough to stream this. That’s why I asked if there were hidden settings.

Since you don't seem to understand, It's not peacock, It's not your internet regardless of how fast or slow you think it is. It's not your streaming device. It's not your catche.

It does seem roku is better at navigating the clusterfuk inside your router than some android tv's by all accounts.

It's not that simple. Could be any number of things and everyone's setup is a little different (ISP, router, types of devices connected, number of devices connected, distance to router, software config, etc).

For the most part, routers and devices do not need any sort of setting changes outside of setting up your password. The only reason anyone should feel the need to dig into advanced settings is if they have a unique situation or are trying to get every ounce of performance out of setup that is not ideal.

For the OP, the PS5 Peacock app is the only thing not working great. It's probably the app for the PS5. It's probably not good right now and will see updates in the future. The software teams prioritize the most popular streaming devices. Apple, Roku, Firestick always perform the best.

Only other thing, how far from the router is the PS5? If it is relatively far, make sure it is connecting to the 2.4ghz wifi. 2.4 is better through walls. Yes 2.4ghz is slower than 5ghz, but ultimately it will be better/more reliable at distance when several walls are involved.

I will add that Roku has been 100% flawless. I think built in TV apps are the biggest offenders. Watched Arlington at my brother's place and he has Peacock via Samsung TV built in app and it was clearly subpar (though not as bad as some photos I've seen, just hitches from time to time).

This could be the case. I switched over to Roku instead of the Peacock app on my TV and the problem went away. It's really a strange problem, however: every single weekend this year, my feed has been fine until the last race of the night. Then, crapville.

I have one of those Firestick things but haven’t used it in years. I’ll have to dig it out and try that.

The router is about 12-14 feet from the PS5 and in the same room.

How many devices are connected to your router? Phones, computers, game consoles, TV’s ect… How old is your router? Is your router supplied by your internet provider? If your router is supplied by your internet provider and is more than a few years old it more than likely can’t handle the amount of devices connected and is probably the cause of your issues.

Only the PS5. I turned off my macbook, phone, and ipad to see if that helped. It didn’t. I also ran all four at once to see how it would react. The router is provided by my ISP and it about 3 months old.

Seems the PS5 may be the issue.

Hardwire it. Especially since you are only 15’ away from your router. Can’t believe I have to explain this. Set your network up properly once and it’s done.

Dear Mister Einstein,

I am writing to let you know everything you said was wrong. I dug out my Fire TV box and it streams absolutely perfect, on my shitty wi-fi. Go give bad advice elsewhere.

No, it’s still your shitty wifi. Just because you made a fire stick work doesn’t mean it’s up to par and you won’t have issues with other things.

I watch ONE thing on TV, and that is MX/SX. I use my shitty wifi for streaming that and uploading photos and the once or twice a month video game. My shitty wifi works just fine for that and clearly wasn't the issue I was looking to find a solution for. Thanks for the reply.

What do you stream on your Firestick?  I am guessing it is not LIVE HD programming.  If you are watching a 25 year old rerun of Friends that is compressed recordings, that is nowhere near the same.  I have watched every race this year and most of qualifying and have had zero issues.

This has been the case since Peacock started broadcasting the races.....UNLESS I am at a hotel.....then it is hit or miss depending on the property because they're equipment and speed usually sucks.  I have actually found hot spotting from my phone to work better than most hotels.

I bought it a handful of years ago for watching MX/SX when it was on that NBC Gold app. I haven’t used it for years. Someone in this post brought up a Fire Stick and remembered I have a Fire TV box. It streamed great last night. Like someone else mentioned in this post, the PS5 version of the Peacock app struggles, and that seems to be the issue I was having.

To answer your question, I stream nothing else. Sometimes it’s live MX/SX, sometimes it’s a day or two later.

I’ve realized that I’d rather watch ads than listen to the Peacock music when they go to break. After a while it’s like being waterboarded.

I turned off the 2nd 250 as the feed was effed up, prior to that not a problem and other wheels sports on Peacock not a problem.

It’s garbage on the Peacock app on my Samsung tv. Crystal clear on my iPhone and pc. It’s been like that all season. Weird. I just cast it from my phone to the tv and it works fine.

Never go to a BJ's wholesale club.  They play the same stuff on their display TV's. I was shopping the other day and heard it  and thought  maybe I fell asleep with a race on again  and that I was in a nightmare with the music on a loop.

…maybe you kids would get better quality if your room mates/siblings/ parents/ spouses would  stop streaming onlyfans and porn at the same time you are watching the race?

Looked really good here today. I have a good internet ( 500 Mbps) hardwired to an Apple TV 4K to a 77” Sony OLED TV. I have other things like YouTube TV that looks terrible on that same setup but look good using a Roku Player so I think it is really hit or miss with some apps.

Never missed a beat with speed TV last year. Peacock blows but for 6 dollars I keep it. Tried to start watching today 2 hours after it started and it kept getting hung up when WC was babbling. Turned it off 2nd 450 moto and will watch the replay.

I thought it was Peacock sucking, or being in a somewhat rural area. I watch on the app on my “latest and greatest” LG whatever the hell mega tv. Would lag and freeze. Tried it on my MacBook and no problems, so just plug that into the tv now.

When are people going to learn that if they have shit routers they are going to have a shit picture....you may have 500-1000mbps but if your router can only handle 3 devices and you're trying to run 10 through it somethings gotta give...if you are using the cheap ass crap from your cable company that is more than likely your problem.

I play musical streaming devices until one works. Atm, the peacock app on my Roku TV is ok. Sometimes, the peacock app on Google TV is the ticket. Other times, it works best if I cast to one of those from the app on my phone. No idea what the deal is. It's the only app that doesn't that to me

That’s interesting. I use Roku every time and it’s been great quality 100% of the time.
